THank you guys,

I think I cannot download the blockchain in windows, when I enter the "refresh" command in wallet, all I get is: "refresh failed, deamon busy, Blocks received:0"

I also get yellow color in the deamon window.

Any ideas?

First you have to finish downloading the whole blockchain. You must be synced. Then open the wallet. If problem persists just close everything and try again.

Sometimes its quite annoying. It may take 5-10 times closing and opening in order to work. Although i believe that if you let blockchain sync and open wallet a couple of minutes later you wont have a problem...

P.S. You must close deamon with "exit" unless you want to download blockchain every time Smiley

The daemon is downloading the blockchain, not the wallet. After the daemon is fully synchronized, the wallet can be refreshed. Don't worry about the colors in the daemon.

Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
How can I install it on windows? I just downloaded the binaries zip folder.

No installation involved, just run the executables from command line. See the mining guide.

Thank you. I created the /bat file as shown in the OP. Now a new window appears asking for a wallet password. This password is like the bitcoin-qt wallet password, eg used for encryption and required before sending funds? Or something different?
The first time you run it you set the password. Then each other time when you open the same wallet you use the password you chose.

When binaries are updated, can you please add the date in the OP also? So we can check easily if we have the latest version running

Good idea. We also really need a version numbering system.

I am following bytecoin's lead.  Newest version will be 0.8.6.

Important!

We have a pool bounty going. As you've probably noticed, network hashrate is going up. When the 32-bit code is merged in, it'll go even higher. Solo mining outcomes will then be pretty random.

tacotime has a dev who will work on an open source pool implementation for a bounty. See this topic/post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6520464

Where is the address that this money needs to be going to? Someone's gotta step up and take the funds . . generosity usually only comes in ten minute windows for most people Smiley

edit: I would totally feel that you'd do great at collecting and managing the funds Smiley

I can make a wallet, but eizh can too, I will update the thread in a bit (working on update to latest version)

Cool, already sent to the one you posted in IRC.

After a block is found there are many many messages declaring that

"block with id= "number" already exists."

Are those the so called orphans? Or just my bitmonerod declaring to other peers that this block has just been found? Or others declaring me that this block has been found?

I just downloaded the latest Binaries and now getting this error:
Code:
2014-May-03 13:50:01.252467 ERROR c:\temp\bytecoin\latest\bitmonero-master\src\p
2p\net_node.inl:246 UPNP_AddPortMapping failed.

Which ports do I need to forward to resolve this problem?

And a 2nd problem at my server:

When I start bitmonerod, I get this error:
Code:

Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
Does not make sense that this file would be missing:

Code:
-- Looking for include file pthread.h - not found

Does it exist on your system? It should be in /usr/include/pthread.h

Yes, it's there.
I had this problem both in windows compile and in linux. It comes from boost not properly installed or wrong version.
