Hey guys. Was poolmining a bit at https://monero.crypto-pool.fr/#
I think I was getting skimmed. Was using "Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.7 Beta - POOL"
Was looking at a lot of shares found but https://monero.crypto-pool.fr/# was telling me "Last Share Submitted" was like several min. ago. Also Reported hasrate was low.
What is going on here, is my pc infected with some skimming virus, or is https://monero.crypto-pool.fr/# just reporting the wrong info?
What do u guys think.

These stupid dumbs on r/monero see google trends going up and think it all is coming from search queries by crypto users obsessed with monero. These imbeciles do not even realize it has nothing to do with xmr or localmonero. What u see on google trends charts is an organic interest of mexicans toward josé hernández, known caricaturist, now working for La Jordana. Does monero have a max market supply?
~18.4 million coins, with a (<1% annual inflation and decreasing) perpetual mining reward.
wondering why they made supply infinite.
isnt it better to have max coin supply for supply and demand.
large demand and low supply in the future.
or is there any way a coin gets burned?

I think "infinite" sounds like coins are mass-produced without end, and it's not like that. Here's where your questions are answered:

I don't believe this had anything to do with the decision to have a tail emission, but people lose coins. The lose or forget their password, they die without leaving their password with anyone, or, like me, they have their password on a USB key and send it through the washer and dryer...and it's gone. So I like that a tail emission can help negate the effects of human negligence, but it was really added to allow for flexible block size (and so avoids much of the problems BTC is having now) and to provide incentives to miners to secure the network.

Well happy to see Monero finally hit $100. Been a long time coming. My miner has been running three years now. Some of the GPU fans are starting to not work, even with routine maintenance the GPU's are slowly dying. She's an old tug now.
