Well, a pattern of higher lows begins on the 5 minute chart.  Then it becomes apparent on the 15 minute chart.  Later, the 30 minute chart.  Time will tell us.  But only after it is too late to act.

Right now, I am all-in.  If I get a better price, I may do a coinbase instant buy and fill wallets for friends and family, after about a 15 minute lag.  But I won't buy any more for myself in any case.  I own enough.  I am holding some for third parties, which I may be obligated to sell at some point between $10 and $25, but otherwise I'm hodling like Holdor for the foreseeable future, and it just isn't going to matter to me what the price is.  So expect to see much less of me in this thread.

Dude at work just asked me to buy him some.  He'll pay me on Monday but wants the current price.  I'm so nice that way.  He doesn't care if it goes to zero, but he will probably sell half when it doubles.  Just guessing here.  If that is a typical pattern, I expect there will be some resistance around 014

IMO (as if it matters) very well done.  Thank you for your posts of the last 2+ years.

Also thanks to the many that have contributed greatly to Monero from the beginning and have helped make it what it is now and is becoming.  Great vision and perspective.  I followed someone here very early on and I was clueless.  Little by little with the help of the community the fog was lifted.  I ofc am including the devs.  Ofc nothing is certain even though to me it feels that way and has for quite a while, even through the seemingly dark times.

As far as speculation; I don't think it will go near the low (420) that others have said the last day or 2.  Ever the optimist.  Welcome to the new shit.

Here is wisdom:-

Don't let the past govern your sense of market potential. You all know the reasons why you got into XMR, so don't be surprised when the inevitable starts to materialize. Don't let the inertia of the past 18 months govern your strategy in dealing with the next 3 months. The times have changed, and as volume continues to increase, the days of 200% oscillations are over.

From here, we only go up, with meaningless retraction. That's the nature of XMR fundamental confidence, which is exactly the reason you bought in.

Welcome to the new shit. Embrace it like you knew about it from day one.

Go forth, multiply, and enjoy.

price move up now !  20k satoshi Shocked fast coin Grin

I mentioned in the trollbox that it's possibly going to 0.00786 before hitting resistance and crashing again. The top should be reached within 24 hours, and the subsequent crash go perhaps to 0.0055-0.006 area.

Now mining only 13 blocks on average per day, with the new diff increase i'll be lucky if i do 10...

What kinda hardware do you do that with? I have a gtx 980. I wonder if I could ever get any blocks with that.

A 1m usd company server cluster. You will need at least 500 gtx 980 cards to hash at 410KH/s. Mining monero would not be profitable even if the price went up x10.

Thanks!

Dont happen to have any 1m usd server clusters lying around by any chance do you? Ill take one if you have an extra.

Several car dealerships were convinced to accept BTC in the 2013 rise, so it shouldn't be too hard to dangle the carrot of Monero if it's recognition continues to increase.

I remember in 2011 when I could have mined Bitcoins but would 'only' get one or two a week.  They were only worth a few dollars each so it really wasn't worth my time.   Cry

The consolidation continues. I am inclined to see 0.008-0.0085 as a short term resistance now. Unless we get there in 2 days, this is confirmed, and the 0.01 double top is confirmed as well (2014,2016).

If we resume the grinding slide that I am forecasting, it may take months to reach the target 0.0042. And of course there is never a guarantee that it is reached. If great news come, it is likely to throw the grind scenario out of the window.

I enjoy your posts and i do like your math well explained, but Risto, i have to disagree on this point.
The volume is declining steadily, and i personaly do not see all of your prediction becoming true, i think this will be much faster and harder.

Oh, so you believe the target is correct, but it won't take months to reach it?  Cheesy

Well that is why I said "may". What I especially mean is that do not believe the first panic flashcrash to 0.005 is the bottom. Take wisdom from Bitcoin early-2014. It went up fast (to $1100), but the following bottom ($220) was quite a bit lower than the April-13 high ($266).

So even if the low is 0.0035 it fits this scenario perfectly.

The speculator must take into account all price scenarios, and ensure that none of them is ruinous.

And how will he manage that? ETC is a transparent chain.

In ETC universe, he owns the coins free and clear.

And goodbye to $4.  Never again, I think.  Thanks for the Monero!

Ever?

I like my predictions to be precise - sufficiently precise so that they are almost certainly wrong.
I like my strategies to be accommodative - sufficiently accommodative so that they are almost certainly profitable.
I like a very precisely placed center with a HUGE bull's eye around it.

Yeah, my best guess is that XMRBTC will never trade below $4 after 25 Aug 2016.  The closest it comes after 29 Aug will probably be the "sell the news" run on the 1 Sep event, whenever that happens.  But hey, it's really just a guess.  If it were a prediction it would be precise.  With credible intervals.

Not like we're actually searching for the bottom, so it's most likely that it gonna hit 0.0055 than 0.0080 anytime soon

I am quite certain that you can buy a T120 with XMR today, if you wish.  I can hook you up with a dealer if you like, albeit the location may be inconvenient to you.  Just send a PM.

Has anyone considered that the ''hacker'' who took all that ETC may consider moving it through or storing it in XMR especially with the recent hype?

I think his coins become available on the 2nd Sept if I remember correctly, would be a great way to make it look like a ton of DNM money is flowing through XMR following the 1st Sept start of deposits on Alphabay causing another surge in price.

And how will he manage that? ETC is a transparent chain.
