No matter what happens from here, no one can ever claim that this was a get rich quick scheme.

Unfortunately you can't create a new, widely-adopted, decentralized monetary system without accidentally making a few early adopters rich in the process.  No matter how pure the intentions and tech, someone will likely get rich.

All you can do is hope that it's the right people, with the right motives and morals.

Monero is not a get rich quick scheme; it is the most powerful money in existence.  But if it succeeds the way we think it will, it's going to make a few people extraordinarily wealthy, and there's nothing we can do to stop that.

Monero volume popping on Polo.

We just had someone buy a big chunk all at once, all the way up the ask stack.  A nice start to the weekend?

Haha, absolutely not!  But when I hear "Satoshi Round Table" I think some meeting with the top dogs in development to talk about Bitcoin primarily... I understand now it's more of cryptocurrencies in general, which is awesome.  Will there be a video of it after the meeting is over?

I was there last year, it is a well marketed event but I am sure fluffypony can do without me this time  Wink

The problem with that level people is that everyone is already hands full of work. I did not have the resources to start any projects with anyone there, but it was cool to shake hands with Roger Ver, Erik Voorhees, Brock Pierce, Vitalik Buterin etc. I pitched Crypto Kingdom in the main venue, but to my knowledge nobody bought in. CKG is up 1,000% in one year measured in fiat, 500% in BTC, but that would be peanuts for these guys anyway.

There will most probably be no video.

Fluffy's lifetime achievement - invitation to Satoshi Round Table. I'd love to find out who invited him...

I'd love to know your lifetime achievement as well... Sharing is caring  Wink

He has a bright future behind him.

Mymonero.com used to accept 25 word seeds until a few days ago.
I don't think mymonero.com accepts 25 word seeds any more.  I can't get it to work.
If this is right, then the only way to have a wallet compatible with both moneroaddress.org and mymonero.com is to do an import, which costs 10 xmr.
Am I correct?

It should work.  Fluffypony (mymonero admin) is at the Satoshi Round Table conference so he might not be able to respond right away.  Try it again, maybe you typed it in wrong.  If you already tried that Im sure someone else here will chime in with some advice.

I just tested with a freshly generated seed from https://Moneroaddresss.org and it works.

Also, you can still choose the "Don't import transactions" option.

To clarify a bit, "import transactions" (and the 10 XMR fee) is only needed if you have used the wallet previously. For a brand new wallet, there will be no transactions so trying to import them is useless (unless you want to donate 10 XMR to fluffypony Smiley )

Sorry, I'm out of the loop on this one... why is Fluffy going to the Satoshi round table?  Is he someone that actively contributes to the Bitcoin protocol?  Isn't he at the head of the core devs for just Monero?

He sure is.  Its a crypto currency conference, not all attendees are directly involved with BTC development.  I'm not a dev on any crypto coin project but would love to attend.  Are you saying I should not??

There won't be any videos whatsoever. However, I think Fluffypony will make a little summary of his trip and how it went.

The ideal conclusion to fluffy's visit will be that new developers will begin studying and committing to our project, and a handful of new 'whales' will enter the game after realizing that this is no altcoin we are dealing with.

Don't underestimate the powerful impact that professional conferences like this can have.

Something screwy about the network I was on.  It's public wifi.  What tipped me off that something's wrong:  I decided to try using a vpn and see if it made a difference, but had no luck getting connected.  Seems like this wifi is very restrictive.  Doesn't let you connect to vpn, and other stuff doesn't work either (namely, mymonero.com).
On my cell phone, using AT&T data, everything works the way it should.

The event is slightly broader than "just Bitcoin". Few other projects or companies deemed important and/or influencial enough can attend too.

To be fair, he did a lot of work on Electrum if I recall correctly.

You are incorrect. Log in works fine, it just asks if you want to import your transactions (normal). Just select "Don't import transactions".
