Why the shit called DASH costs $ 3.30 and a good coin called XMR costs only $ 0.70?  Let`s push XMR !!!

It is known as a buying opportunity.
Monero deserves 10 usd this year if you ask me so if this happens also Monero gives nice ROI for those smart ones who buy it below 10 usd.

P.S. Today's position increase: about 400 XMR.

Dash is worth that much because of it's "promised ROI" of masternodes.

Same kind of flimsy ROI you can get from CKG dividends...  Tongue

Oh yes, but CKG/XMR has indeed risen 10x from December, last year   Shocked

Perhaps dividends seemingly do matter  Roll Eyes

I messaged Erik yesterday and gave him my best pitch for Monero.

I wonder if a lot of that noise today was him trying to establish a position?

If that is you, go easy brother; we're not on a moon-rocket just yet.  You have time to acquire a stake over the coming months.

Even if XMR establishes over 0.0111 it is still around 3 bucks per coin.
It is like buying bitcoins in 2011-2012. Assuming of course that Monero project succeeds at least in the same extent as bitcoin -project.
However, I would count a lot on network effect. The nice bull run and a serious marketcap will attract smart ones to XMR + it will attract money obviously. If the vast majority of coins are locked into storage rooms it makes the tradeble number of coins pretty small and gives room for a bull run like we have never seen before if even one or two bigger guys buys into this. After all, to buy in one shot the whole sell order book in Poloniex costs 3500 BTC. For additional 10 000-20 000 BTC you probably can get the coins from the sidelines as well. If 25 000 btc is poured on XMR it means only 6.9 million usd which is nothing IMO. Only one richer guy could make it or a few semi rich guys can bail people out from Poloniex IMO.

Bitcoin for all & all for Bitcoin

Well that was an exciting day, anyone up to do it again tomorrow? I mean we don't all have to buy more XMR at the same time...

I think ArticMine is spot on like usual, smooth speaks the truth about mining and hashrate growth, while TC is brewing over profit of his future dump. However price is a sporadic bitch within chaotic confines. Let's call it a day and be happy with the green.

Hopefully the Monero community continues to grow in order to match all the progress and forward thinking being established in the present.

P.S. I've only seen this ~5 times on reddit, but with DASH/X/DARK/PEDO being booted from finex who thinks there is a proper chance in having Monero listed on their exchange? Anyone (or dev) have any recent communication in regards to technical assistance or true intentions of investigating a possible market? I will consider it all a pipedream within the forseeable future otherwise. But that's just me being slightly narcissistic honest.

Another thing that could be different this time around is that there is leveraged trading.

I currently lend a significant sum of btc on bitfinex but am definately considering moving some to Polo, especially if it will add fuel to this rally.

I agree margin trading can make XMR much more interesting.
It basically enables people borrowing bitcoins endlessly as long as the price moves to their favor.
When the price goes up, the existing position + initial investment frees you more collateral for new loans and thus you are able to pile up a chunk of loans and that excessive borrowing can potentially drive XMR to some pretty extreme highs.

I think the current volume and uptrend is also something the Chinese people love. Definetely good timing to start a bull trend and bring some volume so that we are able to get the coin listed to Chinese exchange(s).

This is the best one I know of. There used to be a site called Monerochain that I thought was better for charts but it died quite awhile ago.

http://chainradar.com/xmr/chart

See, this is what we need to be working on increasing, not the price specifically.

I know they are tied together: the more profitable, the more hash power assigned to the network.

Perhaps I'll take some extra money and rent out some cloud power for mining.  I'm not happy that the hash-rate of the network hasn't increased in a year, but the price has fluctuated in the same order of magnitude so it makes sense.

Price stable, emission decreasing = not a good time for miners.

With sustained price increases, miners will follow.

... harassed ...

Sadly the hard drive with my keys was lost in a boating accident. All I have left to show is a couple of hundred on my (fully validated) poloniex account.  So naturally I will be a dip buyer again.

You're telling us you didn't make any backups?

Can't tell if serious...

Of course he's serious.  Everyone knows higher IQ lowers practical sensibility  Tongue

Now I can't tell if you're serious.  Smiley

aminorex was pretty clearly trolling, I wasn't sure if dEBRUYNE was playing along or didn't get the meme.

furthermore I still believe the market has not yet priced in the discrepancy between the 8 month old "official" binaries and the current code..

Yeah, I first ran bitmonerod over a year ago, and it was unreasonable to run it while expecting to do anything else with the machine. By contrast, I recently compiled the current code and have no trouble leaving the process running.

That said, I don't think there'll be any effect on price until there's a GUI. People are dumb.

...

Yeah, some choppiness after this spike then on to .003 and beyond. These threads will be fun to read in a few years time when XMR is trading at over .01

I remember a few moments over a year ago when XMR (or was it MRO then?) was trading over 0.01... Wink

On what exchange?

Polo. Lasted just a few minutes/hours, IIRC.
The high was also reached on Bittrex as well. It is true that it didnt stay there for long the market only hovered within range of that for a few hours. Funny, I remember exactly what I was doing that day.
