Me and an other guy on Poloniex put up a wall at 0.0022, minutes later:

I understood everything you said except the part about the 100% volume.

Can you please elaborate on that?  I have a fair knowledge of options but I'm not an expert.

100% sounds low but I'm not an expert either, however:

Honestly, anything under $2.00 is ridiculously cheap....

I'll sell you some XMR at $1.99. How many do you want ?

I'll pay you 2 cents per 10 Monero for an option to buy Monero from you at $1.99 until December 31st, 2017.

What do you think about that?

Hmm, that seems a bit (a truly monstrous amount) under the money.

You could buy such an option on 10k XMR for only $20.

A call for 879 days away at 100% volatility should go for about 18 cents. On ten XMR, that'd be $1.80, so only 90x more than your proposal!

(Would anyone actually sell options at less than 100%?)

Edited for clarity.

Saddam that's amazing, great job!

I had no idea we had so many views on this topic.  It really shows just how many Monero lurkers there are out there waiting.

Honestly, I haven't acquired all the Monero I want yet so strictly on a self-interest basis I should probably be FUD'ing the coin...  But I'm an idiot so I'll say this....  Do you think the people that bought bitcoin at 75 cents are angry because they missed the bottom at 65 cents?

Just to put our situation in perspective...  Honestly, anything under $2.00 is ridiculously cheap....  I really can't believe that our 'market cap' is under litecoin.  I think it's strictly as a result of shitcoin fatigue and people not understanding that Monero really is something different.

Crazy to think that Monero, a bastard coin that is apparently a "scam" due to its lack of "development" (a.k.a. a GUI), is #6, standing with these giants

Another worthy screenshot - this very thread is #2 in all time Views for this subforum, likely on track to become #1.

No doubt about it, Monero is a popular coin.

There are two converging groups, one being the growing userbase, and the other being the miners with constantly decreasing block reward.

Eventually these two points will intersect, and I believe the result is B.O.O.M.™

I have a special surprise for when we get here. Any guesses when that will be?

Or should I hold my surprise for "sandwich parity"?

Judging from the chart you posted, it looks the surprise is you dumping 1,000,000 Monero.  Cheesy Wink

Or he is Satoshi and did really move his coins Cheesy :p

It's getting hard to get bids filled below 0.0021

It's getting hard to get bids filled below 0.0021, bid side is slowly getting stronger and weekly MACD about to turn green.

I've been daytrading a bit with my margin long, so far managed to get my 0.00207 entry down to around 0.00195.

However my strategy for now is build up a bigger position under 0.0022 since it seems we're going up the coming weeks and until now it's has been pretty small increases in relation to previous rallies.

The above posts made me go look at coinmarketcap, even though market cap means little to me, I know it has some use (at least in this thread)

and then I had some fun with paint. This is what we should see if the "filter nonmineable and premined" function actually worked properly, but lets not bug the poor guy again.

#1 - first cryptocurrency, ever
#2 - first successful alternative chain
#3 - first friendly and fun chain (?)
#4 - I assume this is the oldest POS
#5 - first successful chain as service
#6 - Monero

yes, also transactions on the chain seem to be made by bots sending to themselfs, at least to me. no way to tell with CN anyway, but looks synthetic.
but lets not start a bcn discussion i think we allready had enough of those. sry i brought it up lol Cheesy

while bcn is pumping like crazy, somewhere deep in the fog xmr is slowly creeping up.
one only needs to compare the network hashrate to immediately find out wich chain holds more value. if you average it down the numbers will be even more extreme i guess.

good to see some bid support people, huge times in front of us Kiss

With BCN its likely mostly the premine holder(s) trading amongst themselves to entice noobs to buy in.

You are all early adopters:
https://twitter.com/XMRpromotions/status/628904857659834368

10 years from now we can all look back and remember the time that we were able to envision what Monero would one day become

Really like what you're doing, Bronero. Keep it up!

If you pm me / add a donation address in your sig I will transfer you some.

Thank you, but donations are really not necessary. I would rather see them go towards the development team.

My goal is the same as everyone else. I want to see Monero grow as a currency.

Adding more exchanges is a short term goal of mine. If the entire community could rally around the idea of making frequent contact with exchanges that would really help. So would volunteering to fill in the missing areas on getmonero.org.

Wait, my spreadsheet is on Twitter?

...

 Cool

Is that okay? If I knew what your Twitter handle was I would have given you credit for it. Nice work!

Honestly I think it is important as emission schedules clearly impact distribution and supply/demand over time. Although I like the gradually changing emission schedule of Monero vs the block size halving of others currencies I still think 50% pre-tail emission will have some impact.

As people start to view Monero as becoming more and more scarce the demand from buyers will start to outstrip the (gradually shrinking) supply miners wish to sell. When this happens the only logical result is that prices must rise to keep the supply/demand in balance.  Such changes can be very gradual or sometimes abrupt depending on a number of factors.
