What is your ratio between bitcoin and XMR you have ? I have personnaly put about 50% of my investment in BTC and about 50% in XMR.

Not that I disagree with that ratio but I'm not doing that.
I hear more people use 5%-10% on alts. (initial value)
As the price rises they often cash out to keep that % (or maintain a certain percentage.)

That said I do feel like Monero is worthy of taking a bigger risk on as I have more than a strong feeling that many early
BTC adopters see what is happening and they want to up the ante with XMR.

IF XMR is showing this kind of strength with BTC relatively down, I can only imagine where it goes once BTC turns upwards.
My guess is from .01 BTC or .02 BTC on the lower end, to .1 BTC on the extreme high end.
So, being that we are in the .003-.004 range, a higher % of BTC in XMR is a decent chance to take.

Methinks XMR might (and probably will) "rise [like a] chikun" (as was chanted in the btc-e trollbox) like LTC ran from $1.11 to $48.48 in fall of 2013.  This will likely accelerate as BTC finishes the bottoming pattern and begins its next rally to $3-$10k BTC/USD.  XMR will be a greater "chikun" than LTC especially once GUI arrives and it grows widely adopted & utilized.

So when is btc going to 3-10k?  I heard it was happening last summer. Wink

I put my Polo stash up for sale at btc parity. Smiley

I made a small amount of XMR trading today but I really hate to do it as I don't want to loose (correct bct spelling) any of it.  Yeah yeah I know. Tongue

Looks like they have cancelled btc rise in the last minutes.
Actually the failure of btc is like a victory over the Goliath Monero being little David who later inherited the Kingdom and crown.
Monero doesnt need btc but later in the future btc might need actually Monero.
Bitcoin can offer nothing that cannot be implemented to Monero.

Just sayin

XMR: 0.00415444 BTC
XMR: 1 USD

I'm a bit shocked to see the strength post at this level.
I know many, me included, really saw .003 coming and perhaps holding but the push post that has been huge.

Seems like big buyers have really helped push us up, nothing new there. Is is synonymous with smart money?
The more I look into XMR the more that seems to be the case.

Scary to think what might (actually, what probably will) happen when BTC starts another run.

Looks like there is a mysterious gravity towards 0.0043. Perhaps some physicians have a theory that applies to this...
Once it establishes there, we might have second breakout.  Roll Eyes

Letś see now... To make the same gains in Japanese government bonds that I have seen in XMR since February 21st, I would have to hold JGBs for.... 3768 times as long, or about 390 years.

In 390 years, XMR might still be usable.  JGBs...not so much.

Looking good Joja, we're getting a littlebit overbought tho. Gathering some steam around the 36-40 mark might not be a bad idea. Mr whale doesn't seem to agree with my zone and moved his wall up to 38. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and try to keep this as sustainable as possible.

This chart has the distinct flavor of winning to it.  Grin
Hopefully we can shake off more weaker hands and avoid slipping under .003 again

Any theories on why the network hashrate isn't going up?  You'd think more people would mine it if it became profitable for them to do so.

I think hashrate usually follows the price up with some delay. Mining is a business of its own, you don't mine to invest in a coin, you buy the coin.

XMR might be the exception, if you don't want to leave a trace of your purchases of them (because you are mining them directly), or, you don't want to go through another cryptocurrency just to purchase them (to make your tax accounting easier).

There was another XMR speculation thread with a lot of good posts, but it was riddled with trolls & rebooted as this self-moderated version.

I am kind of hoping for a shake-out event.  Perhaps too late though.  Definitely not inclined to undertake or support any manipulation.  But when it happens, I will definitely seek to exploit it.

Moneroj will be shaken out at a higher price. Right now this is a mere flashback for those holding since last summer. It provides validation to keep the mental strength to hold for longer, not to cash out. Cool

This is a very astute observation. You are describing me quite well. I myself am feeling this way. If the market goes parabolic enough I will look to sell and buy back at better valuations. But what I'm seeing right now is only giving me confidence to hodl.
