Note the unconventional cAPITALIZATION!

Because it's been doing it for 9 years, getting stronger every time.  It would be beyond strange for it to just. stop.

Yup.  And it is fun to see the wider world get to experience it's first bitcoin thrills.  I have not looked at the headlines, but I imagine they will be at peak gloom about now.  Paul Krugman probably woke up with a hard on for the first time in years.

The only thing that worries me is how bullish I currently feel about both Bitcoin and Monero. :\  Could be bad luck?

How's everyone doin' this morning?

Oh and to johnalan - congrats on your ascension.  I have had several of those myself.  But I am still not 100% immune to the breathtaking experience of this ride we are all on...

There has to be uncertainty in the market, otherwise there would be no reason for people to panic Tongue

When BTC fell 80% after its December '13 high, it took over a year to reach the bottom.

It's barely February. If we really are entering a bear market, I'm guessing it's going to be a quick one. More likely, it's just going to be a very turbulent (yet profitable) year in crypto.

I agree, after Gox, Bitcoin really did look in peril.  It doesn't look like that now.  I am hoping for a quicker bounce back that that godawful 2014-2015 grind was.  Let's hope the bottom is definitively found soon.

On almost every forum u read that bitcoin will bounce back up, I really do hope so. But how can everyone be so sure ? Smiley

Nobody is sure, they're just talking their own book.  And anyone who tries to suggest otherwise gets shot down.

Unfortunately, the Monero forums are no different - I've been involved with Monero for nearly three years now and it accounts for 60% of my crypto holdings.  But I keep on seeing posts like "oh, but Monero's the best crypto out there, it just has to go up because it's the best, everyone will soon figure out it's the best and then it'll moon. It has to, 100%. Guaranteed."

Read the forums of any other top 20 crypto and they all say the same thing: "Our coin's the best and soon everyone will realise it."

I believe in Monero's tech and community (demonstrated by the fact that it makes up 60% of my portfolio), but holders of other cryptos believe in their coin's tech and communities too. This blind faith in Monero, or any other coin, is becoming really tiresome.  Any coin, no matter how shiny and beautiful, or how lovely and cuddly its community, can fail.

[EDIT: whilst writing this xmr went from 0.0238 to 0.0250 and btc from $7,960 to $8,350 - I should write more posts like this  Tongue]

Thoughts for your floor?

180?
130?

Surely not lower than 80usd?

RSI looks to be approaching a bottom indicator on various scales.

What is REALLY worrying me is the lack of trolls... THAT is a TRUE worrying indicator! No one is trying to make us sell...

They are too busy selling their shit Smiley

Anyway...

I have ascended.

I no longer fear the market. I have reached the point. I'd rather suck a dick than sell. Ergo, I don't give af anymore.

Max pain reached.

Congrats on your ascent, have a merit!

Thanks! does sMerit get replenished? I want to send it but only had one and it's used.

EDIT: Yes it does, I now have 3 Smiley

what do you think about cake wallet?

they release the source for Cake Wallet for Monero for iOS under the terms of the MIT open source license. This is the first truly open source Monero wallet for iOS.

The code uploaded to GitHub has NOT been submitted to Apple yet as we are still testing. I ask the community to test and suggest/submit improvements as well. We will probably submit to Apple by end of the day today.

I'm doing a code review currently.

I have an issue that I logged on their git.

I think the trolls have ascended to business news networks--they seem to cry "Blood in the streets!" every time Bitcoin goes down 15%. Of course they package it as "Lost 100s of Billions in value!" I don't know if I've ascended, but I'm at the shrug stage. Probably dealing with the personalized experince of a BCT troll has made me immune to mass-market FUD.

The 'shrug stage' is the first sign of ascent. You're almost there already  Wink

Lack of trolls here is not a good sign, nope - but right now it's all about the mothership. BTC needs to find its bottom (and preferably fast!).

We were holding well against BTC (but of course losing in fiat terms) today it looks like we aren't such a particularly special case and we are losing ground against BTC too.   I am hoping this means we are approaching the point of the bottom for BTC and thus, the whole market.

I think alts will be drained further as BTC looks closer to the bottom, because people simply will want to buy BTC at its low, rather than hold any alt.

One last capitulation and blood on the streets will sort it, then we can find a new base.  Alts will slingshot up once BTC does - but faster.   Of course this is a shakeout for the weakest alts.  I expect Monero to do better than most, simply as it has quality and a damn good use case.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
February 02, 2018, 02:22:56 AM

Yes, PinkDate recommends to use monero over bitcoin for any investor who wants privacy.

PinkDate will host the first Invite-Only launch party in Toronto, Feb 28, 2018
100 escorts in attendance with invites limited to 200 men.
It's going to be an epic party, with the idea to explain how PinkDate platform works.
Our President, Sarah Stevens who is a former escort herself, just returned from Florida, London UK, and Amsterdam. Next up are San Francisco then the huge Anarchapulco Crypto Conference in Mexico.
In every locale, she attends or speaks at a crypto event, and, checks out the local escort scene. She reports that in every city, even Amsterdam where everything is legal, it is really difficult to set up appointments.

PinkDate will really make a big difference.
And, clients will love it because PinkDate will verify them once, and from then on they can use the platform without having to submit their personal ID and info to a girl they never met.
https://pinkdate.is
Pre-ICO sale ending very soon.

Folks, I believe Monero but I also believe Assian markets are the most significant markets for Monero...

Are these assian markets same thing as the escort market, ala, Pinkdate?  Cheesy

Sorry can't buy into a Pre-ICO, I just don't trust them unless I had to pre reserve a spot in the Pre-Ico before the plebs get to buy in.
