To be fair they will probably have not the last laugh but a good hard laugh in the middle somewhere. Every time there is a revolutionary paradigm shift people overreact and become too exuberant. The dot com bubble is a great example. People lost their minds because they saw the potential of the internet. They weren't wrong in the long run. The internet really has changed the whole world. But that didn't stop them from losing a lot of money in the dot com crash. The apple stocks that they bought are now the most valuable publicly traded equities on the planet (I think, too lazy to look and make sure I'm right) but that didn't stop people from losing a ton of money on apple at the time. Crypto will probably be a lot like that too. The future amazons of the crypto world are here now. But they will probably be ridiculously over bought at some point either now or in the near future.

I'm seeing this, too. But also, I'm finally getting some friends and family to see the monero light now that the price has climbed mightily but it's too bad they didn't listen before (or I wasn't convincing enough.) They are clueless of the money made along the way and of course there is more than 1 POV in every situation. Bubble pop? healthy correction? etc.

Seems the media swayed them to confirm they were right to avoid new things.

I'm seeing this, too. But also, I'm finally getting some friends and family to see the monero light now that the price has climbed mightily but it's too bad they didn't listen before (or I wasn't convincing enough.) Completely agree on vacuum instability and timeline.

IMO the modulating factor will be hardware wallets. Huge speculative energy is tending to gravitate around assets that are either on the Ledger or the Trezor. (It turns out mainstream VCs are somewhat techno-illiterate.)

The moment that changes then you’re looking at Monero as a Top 3 coin.

Dragging this up, as we are closing in on what I feel will be a huge swell to the market.

I just gave a Nano S to each person I know owning crypto, due to Ledger's imminent support of XMR. Not very many, to be sure, but this is the beginning...

Monero is the CryptoKing of privacy. Nobody can real challenge Monero. It is just sad that so many new coins get so publicity and they are just garbage. We will see Monero hit 50bi market cap before July.

It seems likely that transitioning from Type 0 to Type I civilisation carries with it a strong risk of self-destruction. Money is the foundation of civilisation, and Monero may represent the best hope for the human race to not go gentle into that good night. Ironic that I've pinned my hopes to the currency of outlaws and outcasts.

BTC will get an ETF soon-ish, now that there are futures on multiple exchanges. That will spike BTC again, probably around 40k. Holders are speculating on Lightning fixing the current woes. If they are right, they will be rewarded for their conviction. When will an ETF finally squeeze past the SEC? Maybe when Trump appointees dominate the debate?

Monero should make a high shortly after that. In general Monero tends to rise more than Bitcoin and fall less, so a 1k high would seem likely, unless the tide economic fundamentals have pushed us up in the meanwhile, which does seem likely. In the latter case, the associated peak will be higher.

Been away from here (again) just 'cuz -- I'll admit it -- I'm less "in" on XMR lately only because it seems like crypto-world is gonna have to weather the ongoing storm, and muddle thru the rest of this Great Forking Time Of The Flippening (?) ... before things might (maybe?) settle down a bit again, and THEN the world can get back to trying to learn/care/understand about how important fungibility is really going to be.

Soon as that happens I'm gonna be back-in more fully on our beloved HoneyPony... Monero the true best REAL one "coin" actual digital CASH for our future!!

But, until then, the smaller stack I maintain is still lookin' mighty fine... no complaints.

2017 has been an epic year ("38" on a scale of 100?) and seems like 2018 is getting all teed-up to possibly even exceed what we-all have been thru so far (maybe "57" on that 100 scale? LOL)

Like Ripple I think Monero also a good investment asset. This particular asset has the potential of steady going. Recently it is trading around $357. In a year it has given almost 500% return to the investors. But I see the price for the next December 2018 will be above $1000. So, hold it and keep quiet.
