225 USD.  Will there be some traction this time to keep going?  Everything seems bullish as f%k.

Let's hope that the stars align this time. If they are not aligned already...

I know this is not supposed to be a Dash-bashing thread and I suspect this has been addressed somewhere way back in this massive thread, but how did Dash absorb would would appear to be a massive body blow as a result of this Princeton research paper (i.e. section 3.2)?

https://arxiv.org/pdf/1709.02489.pdf

Is there an official Dash response somewhere?

They pivoted to Dash being about fast transactions rather than privacy.

monthly predictions on XMR/USD through June 2018 based on returns to date and the road to $500 and $1,000

From April 2014 to now, XMR/USD has had a geometric return of approximately 0.3696% per day. Extrapolating that into the future gives us the following monthly prices:

$220 on Dec 31, 2017
$247 on Jan 31, 2018
$274 on Feb 28, 2018
$307 on Mar 31, 2018
$343 on Apr 30, 2018
$385 on May 31, 2018 and
$430 on Jun 30, 2018
...
...
I saw $209 yesterday.  Pretty confident it will be up more than $11 this month.
I’m guessing @EuSouBitcoin is taking into account that after pumps Monero seems to slowly lose it’s value on and off until it hits it’s next pump.

I’m going to guess that we’ll see 180$ going into Jan. as Monero slowly loses value coming off the pumps now, but then hits another pump sometime mid-January (at least that’s what I expect).

Another way to look at my post is "on those dates what will the price of XMR/USD be"? So for the Dec 31, 2017 price of $220, we could hit $220 or higher prior to that date but I think the price would come back down and the price on Dec 31, 2017 would be $220.

Done.  Next?   Grin

I think monero might go down until Bitcoin stablises at a price after the CME futures. Monero look sshady for investors.

Over the last month,$BTC is up around 50%.  In that same period, $XMR is up ~ 150% (ATH about 2 hours ago).

When does this reverse?  Now?  Calling the top?

Also, Bitcoin stabilize after CME  Cheesy  More like after  futures open BTC volatility reaches new extremes.  The tree is about to be shaken.  Hard.

The more I read about the monero, the more coins I want to buy) The guys you do not know the timing of the introduction of the Korvie update and the introduction of multi-signatures, at least approximate.

The "soon™" meme is used liberally around here and for a reason. But all the soon™ things have EVENTUALLY come out. Man let me tell you about LMDB. That was the worst. For like a half a year or a year or something monero was borderline unusable. It needed like 10 gigs of ram or something crazy. All we could ever get was soon™. But then one day it came and it was glorious.

Well this is very much on topic. I would like to know if anyone can answer how Monero replaced LTC at Poloniex as the second trading coin?

I could speculate (like the title of this thread asks me to do), but someone must have an answer

Monero helped save them.

In the long long ago.. in the before times...Poloniex was hacked and needed to recoup their losses.  Instead of completely shutting down, they adjusted their fees and made Monero the 2nd trading pair.  Litecoin was barely being used as that 2nd pair, so it wasn't much of an issue.  Poloniex became *the* place to trade Monero as that's where several of our market makers were trading at.  Even after bigger exchanges added Monero, Poloniex was still the king.  They treated us well, and we reciprocated.  Within the last year that's gone downhill as their support has dwindled.

You mean why there is a market with XMR pairs? The Tab?

I guess it could be because monero volumes once likely saved the exchange after a hack occured years ago. Or busoni saw a future + a good possibility to atleast trade the cryptonote coins with each other with XMR base pair.

New ($211 225) USD ATH. again.  Volume still low.  No sign of losing value yet.

Seeing bitcoin cash price and looking at monero price is giving me headache.
Monero is so much superior than many coins in the market and it will see $500-600. Mark my words.

GloBee will be hosting the last Monero meetup of the year in South Africa on Dec 7, will they be announcing any new details about the project?

Also, on GloBee's twitter:

"Warning: Monero enthusiast alert. Come through for the #Monero meetup, Thurs 7 Dec 17, in South Africa, JoBurg. RSVP here http://meetu.ps/e/DvVQb/yJMhh/f"

You would hope the details about it will be out imminently, we're almost at first week of December and haven't heard anything about this project which was targeted at Christmas sales was it not?

$500,000 sinkhole thus far.
