CryptoKingdom died?  I see posts from rptelia from just a few days ago about it.

Always wondered if it ever actually became a game instead of a spreadsheet and a role playing thread but never got around to checking.  How's he a scammer?
Exit scam.  He ran off with 7 figures.   I am very sympathetic to those who lost money, but good riddance IMO.

I came too close a number of times. Thank god it was all just too complicated for me.

The utility of Monero is very limited and basically it is just another shitcoin.
In my opinion, the current price is very lucrative selling opportunity - after all it is like 4-5 times higher than 1 year ago.

Not making this up... I read this and immediately bought 4btc more monero.

I value your input.

would you buy some xmr right now?

Sure...one of the only credible alt coins out there.

I disagree.
Monero seems so hard to code that there are very few wallet providers supporting it. Remember, Jaxx gave up. Also no hardware wallets so good luck storing your coins outside of the exchange in a secure manner.

Basically Monero is in the same situation it was 1-2 years ago. Hardly real world use cases.
Actually, it is even worse now as even Crypto Kingdom is out of the picture.

Jaxx is clearly incompetent, based on their terrible security practices. Ledger hw wallet integration seems forthcoming: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6invis/ledger_hardware_wallet_monero_integration/

Monero is just accepted on new dnm, even though alphabay seems dead. I think that makes it most accepted coin besides bitcoin anywhere on dnms.

Rpietila is an insane scammer. Good riddance to CK being gone (even though it seems to be continuing on in some fashion I think).

I'm not buying XMR right now, but I wouldn't let these bullshit reasons be the cause.

maybe AB saw it coming and pulled as many coins from it as possible and dumped them?
maybe thats the reason for the crash yesterday?

for me this isnt too far fetched

The alts they don't take took the majority of the beating.  So I have my doubts unless they were unloading bitcoin to other alts via ShapeShift & dumping them on exchanges to clean up their Bitcoin.

I guess when AB comes back online nobody's touching it anymore.  There's a huge possibility that they have turned in to a honey pot operated by the feds.  If so then what's the hottest DNM right now and what other DNM's accept Monero?

I doubt it will come back, but it's anyones guess. However, we must assume that all DNMs will eventually exitscam. The incentives are just too good. It's almost like a community promise at this point.

Hansa is immune to exit scam by design.  Integrated multisig can not come fast enough.

I mean, you're not really trading XMR at this point.  The entire market is trading as an index based on speculation of what effect BTC segwit deployment will have.  If there is no type of catastrophe, people dumping now will have to buy back higher.  If there is a BTC catastrophe that blows up the entire ecocsystem somehow, then...I'm glad I own #physicalsilver.

When all else fails, consult the MatTheCat investment quote generator:

I bet you that nothing even close to the bullshit we see in Bitcoin happens on Forex

In defence of BTC trading, at least it is not as criminal as Forex

Well, sorry about that guys.  I said this market was going up...and we did bring it up....then someone decided to dump every alt in existence -10-20% all at the same time...kind of an act of god there...

these markets are just not to be traded

July 1, alphabay starts zcash.  July 5, dnm raids in Quebec, alphabay goes offline.

https://mobile.twitter.com/zooko/status/863202798883577856

Coincidence?

Hmmm.

I cannot understand why, given Monero's privacy, AB (I've never visited) continued to take BTC and even added ETH. That just doesn't make sense unless the site owners are hooked on the outdated (false) belief that Monero is difficult to use. I think they're smarter than that. And saying "it's hard on people to convert BTC to XMR" no longer holds water given that they accept ETH (and users more than likely converted BTC to get their ETH), and BTC->ETH and BTC->XMR can be done with the same ease.

Anyhow, reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6lu7bz/alphabay_taken_offline_fears_of_exit_scam/) seems to think AB is just down for maintenance (includes the possibility of a security cleanup to deal with the event aminorex mentioned) and will be back up in a few days. My guess is they'll be back up since they most likely have resources to handle this situation, they won't want to give up their cash cow, and Russian authorities likely won't go after them.
