The Bitcoin issue on 1 August... What do u guys think. I'm selling ETH for USD so I can buy in XMR lower when or if Bitcoin crashes down. Good decision? Or will this not affect Monero Price? I guess when Bitcoin comes down, everything else in USD terms comes down with it, temporarily

The Big-Question is... are crypto-people gonna want to move from the Big Kahuna Crypto "Bitcoin" during a crisis (?) back into FIAT MONEY dollars, for "protection" (LOL) or will they protect themselves somehow by waiting it out in some "Safe Haven Crypto" (ahem) -cough-MONERO-cough-

Seems likely to be a 50-50 decision either way.  No clue.

Personally I'm just going to leave the bulk of my BTC in a safe cold storage address (private key backed up multiple ways from Sunday) and maybe move most of the 'expendable' hot-wallet easily accessed BTC into XMR to wait out whatever storm comes.

It may all go UP or it may all go DOWN or some up and some down... so, in other words, just another day in crypto world (albeit maybe more entertaining) LOL

Regarding Trollcriptonaire, I think is a great asset in this room. He has unconsciently signal some great trades in this last weeks if you take him as a contrarian indicator.

God save the Duck!

That´s the great question. Probably is too soon(TM) yet to have a definitive answer. There will be 2 or 3 more surprises in the road until 1 Aug. This new informations will assist you to take the correct path. Whatever you do, just don´t left BTC in exchanges that days.

TrueCryptonaire is trolling you all.  Cheesy If he would be interested in DASH he would troll their forum not XMR. DASH is a dead coin, no use case, just Ponzi. Nothing more to say.

I know, he's doing this for a few years already... still, sometimes I can't control myself and react, he's quite the trolling-professional, gotta give him that.

Dash is a professional project that have people working for it and they get paid, so what?

Monero is guys trading with Aminorex and circle jerking each other and nobody gets paid [...]

Good point. Evan has to pay people to work on Dash, whereas Monero attracts contributors because the project is actually interesting.

Eeeeeeh, nope...?

Which one do you think is more solid business: A business that pays salaries and have regular contributions, and an ongoing marketing team preaching the good news or something that relies entirely on volunteering?
You know, the contributors need their daily bread so rationally they should not sacrifice more time for free than for paid hours... After all, the volunteering benefits more the community than the individual even if the individual have a stake of the pie.

Yeaaaaah, because bitcoin is worth nothing... Dude, their 'marketing team' has to pay people 10$ to even want to start a Dash-wallet... noone uses dash, noone cares, every cryptographer will tell you that Dash isn't sound, they even had a whole room of people at coinbase laughing at them...

Are you blind? Monero has almost triple the subscribers on reddit, monero gets added on exchanges for free (kraken, where Dash had to pay 50k dollars to be added), fluffypony gets invited at consensus (where was Dash-demigod Evan?), mobile wallets want to add monero (while it's much more difficult), hardware wallets want to add monero (while it's much more difficult)...
All of this without marketing whatsoever...
Have you seen what happened to Dash trying to get their own stack-exchange... they got to 13%, 13%... probably because their community is so big and their marketing works so well...

And if you really believe that Dash is a solid business then sorry but you're retarded, Dash is right now a money burning machine... Watch what happens when that bubble bursts and all their precious overpaid developers and marketeers flee the sinking ship (have you seen what the people at 'thedashforce' earn, have you seen what abj asks?)....

Eeeeeeh, is a decentralized, global and free payment network a business? Money should be as neutral as possible. What if a business can't afford to pay salaries anymore? Sure all employees will keep on working for free haha.
A pity the shortsighted world you live in, where money values more than freedom.

By the way, how the holy fuck can you not know what Bytecoin is?

He's been trolling this thread for years and still doesn't know Monero's history.

Then he talks about the professionalism of Dash as a 'Corporation' compared to that of Monero.

I used to think he was just greedy and unconcerned with the goals or purpose of cryptocurrency. Now it appears I've been giving him too much credit.

Hello Troll,

You are desperately shilling people not to sell close to the ATH bitcoinwise.

Best regards,

I disagree with both. I believe in Monero (and I'm in since a year) and imo the top 5 on Coinmarketcap is the right place for XMR.

Ohhh... I wanted explain to you another thing, never mind.

I don't get how is possible that is stuck between 0.017-0.021 since April.

Rule #1. Don't buy Montero

Rule #2. You can not be sure (no one can't be sure, specially guys with tech analysis) that the price tomorrow will not go to 0.01 or even more.

I'm with you as a small monero XMR investor. I'm holding my monero since 10$ price and looking for an exit. Buying it was easy but selling decission will be hard for sure.

Dash - A good coin, very professional community and a good business plan.

that's just wrong... have you been on the dash-subreddit, or in their slack channel... they're just echo-chambers... Dash has almost no community except their paid for fanboyz

Dash has a community, and bear in mind, the sign of the community is not how many trolls are writing online.
When it comes to professionalism, Dash is in the level of Corporation when you compare it to Monero which is in the level of boiz playing in the garage and tuning their four-wheels. The fact that they have a marketing department on its own is a sign it is like a solid business.
The fact that they are able to pay for a marketing is exactly the sign of professionalism and that they take seriously the user-adaption.

Every troll in this thread (except me) is an echo-chamber - just look at the amount of circle jerking taking place here when I am absent.  Roll Eyes

That speaks more to the quality of discussion on this forum. The community on reddit.com/r/Monero has been steadily growing with 100+ new subscribers per day on average. Lots of new users learning about Monero and asking questions.

Monero Stack Exchange is also growing rapidly:

What is the issue with premine/instamine etc?

LOL.  Just LOL

I do not get it despite I have tried to understand it for a couple of years.....

Perhaps my IQ of over 100 of under 80 is not capable to grasp the problem with it....?

FTFY  Cheesy

Are these all the arguments you can give against premines, instamines etc?

All the arguments have been given ad nauseam.

So this is all we have left to give.
