Eventually I gave up and drove back to Price [sic] George city center - I figured at worst I’d use the WiFi at the Tim Hortons. In the end I pulled into the parking lot of the visitors center, the internet started working again, and the upload finally finished:

After confirming everything one last time I finally turned off the compute node, (hopefully!) destroying the “cryptographic toxic waste” forever.
