I don't think that XRP beats ETH. however ethereum is very strong and therefore I think it still takes a lot of time for the ripple. But in view of the current conditions, it is not impossible that Ripple will follow ethereum. This is only a matter of time and popularity in my opinion.

I was surprised when I saw XRP is in number 2 based on the market cap. But it didn't last long before eth reclaimed the number 2 spot. Due to more ICO's are selling there eth it's not surprising if XRP will dethrone eth at number 2 spot. But, if the issues of high fees, slow transactions and blockchain clogging in Ethereum would be address in the upcoming update. Ripple was pumped hard and I think now Ethereum is being prepared for the same . So I don't believe that ripple will take #2 coinmarketcap place , and xrp buyers should be careful, because XRP can collapse down at any time .
