Its likely to happen in my opinion. Whoever decides which digital currency would be official I think will have to look at the background of each curreny and if they find out Bill Clinton had once promoted this XRP, I guess the trust belongs to it. The appearance of Bill Clinton to the conference is disappointing by the way/. Looks like he gets paid way too high to speak too little about cryptocurrencies.

I thought FIFA Wold Cup is the biggest sporting event?

It's like near to impossible making XRP an official currency in 2020 Olympics but if it suddenly happens then it probably makes XRP worth a trillion in capitalization.

I wouldn't know, I only watch e-sports tbh! Cheesy
I just though Olympics are widely accepted as the biggest event.

Petition to make XRP the official currency at the 2020 Olympic Games... yeah... a bit far fetched!

https://www.leaprate.com/cryptocurrency/digital-currency/this-cryptocurrency-can-be-the-official-currency-at-the-2020-olympic-games/

It would make sense for the reasons provided in the above article to have an official cryptocoin for purchases on every shop around the area, this would make things easier for everyone... for some tourists who own the coin they would skip the lines to exchange their money to Yen (probably in a bad rate) and people who would use fiat would at least wait in shorter lines.

But I think exchange of $, € and other fiat to Yen is something that would benefit Japan. Not sure if it makes any difference to their economy, but if it does then they wouldn't support any cryptocurrency.

Maybe not as far-fetched as it would seem. Sports seem to be getting on the crypto bandwagon as quick as they can, and because most of them don't really understand the difference between a true crypto project and a centralized entity like Ripple, they will actually think it's a good partnership to be associated with a big token that has many banking partnerships.

Will that make XRP rise in price? Probably not.

"Will the promotion from the biggest, worldwide sports event add credibility to Ripple and will the demand from tourists who prefer to pay less fees increase the XRP's price? Probably not"

Are you serious?!?!
And I'll pretend I didn't notice the comment about a true crypto project... who decides the rules a project must follow to be considered true?

This will only mean ripple is making its presence anywhere in the world, not just bitcoin or ethereum but it is xrp which is making waves despite a bear market. I admit I am not a ripple supporter but I have huge investment so I hope and expect to get better returns.

Blog location:  https://xrpcommunity.blog/xrp-news-post-swell-edition/

Looking for a summary of the SWELL Conference + the latest news about XRP? I've got you covered!

SWELL was a tour-d-force for Ripple; you won't want to miss my TL:DR breakdowns of each session in this blog. I provided my own personal take on each of the sessions, including the "800 Pound Gorilla" panel discussion at the end.

This latest blog also covers the latest news in crypto, and Ripple & XRP as well, including what to expect from the Malta conference, and news that SmartStream piloted Ripple tech.  Coinswitch adds a custom crypto switch page for XRP fans, and Bitrue announces their new mobile application.

I hope you enjoy the read!

Thanks & Sincerely,

-Hodor

In 2018, RippleNet has dramatically expanded its reach and network. This year we’ve seen massive customer growth quarter over quarter, signing an average of two production customers per week. RippleNet has also become a truly global network, powering faster, cheaper and more transparent cross-border payments to over 40 countries and six continents. Today, RippleNet takes another step forward to change the way money moves.

Ripple supporters are expecting a massive incline for XRP because of the swell event, to everyone’s surprise the market decline fee hours before the event begins. Are we expecting any incline caused by the event? Its now the day two of swell and price continues to drop.

So many had happened to ripple since the first post.

For me i started trading xrp since last 2015. I t was my first trade actually. Since i was still a newbie, i sold my coins x5 gains. But i did not buy back. I regret now for selling it. Anyway i have bought some at the dip.
There are many people who are still regret for selling ETH, BTC and XRP at very low price but now we have chance to buy at the dip.
I think price of XRP is still very low and hope so XRP price will go back to ATH price. we will have to buy at dip and HODL.
We are in Oct month and maybe rally will start in the end of this month.  Let's see!

Ripple, RippleWorks Foundation, Coil, Hard Yaka and PolySign are taking their campaigns to Washington DC lobbying for the creation of laws that is favorable for blockchain and crypto development. Under the banner Securing America’s Internet of Value Coalition (SAIV), the coalition wants to influence the regulation in the nascent crypto space now that the environment is constantly evolving and updates must be made for a smooth “global financial transition”. SAIV is keen on working with US policy makers that can assist them achieve their overall objective as they begin their drive lobbying at Congress, the SEC and even at the IRS. https://ripplecoinnews.com/ripple-and-saiv-lobbying-for-supportive-crypto-rules-heads-to-washington-dc

XRP News: Pre-SWELL Edition

Blog Location:  https://xrpcommunity.blog/xrp-news-pre-swell-edition/

It's time! SWELL is about to start, and I cover all the news leading up to the conference.

For those that want a detailed explanation of Multi-Hop, it's in there!

A lot has happened in the past week, and I hit on all the major points, including Ripple's testimony at the Library of Congress, the hiring of a lobbying firm, the latest about the Japanese Money Tap application, and Ripple's new philanthropic endeavor.

In addition, I cover XRP Community developments as well, including a new tool for Codius hosts and the usage of XRP for a Belize-based ForEx platform.

I hope you enjoy this latest blog entry & please leave any feedback below.

Thank You & Sincerely,
-Hodor

It replaced ETH once again on the 2nd spot. This is going to be a tag of war for the two.

The conference for SWELL as I've read will happen on Oct 10 which I think can be a good strategy as to when to trade here. $0.60 may fall a bit and that's when a nice buy should you order. I'd hope to read a lot more after the conference, its going to be the basis of whether new investors are going to come.

Swell is 1st and 2nd of October, so its pretty close now.

I'm not sure history repeats itself here like many are thinkin. There could be something going on and has been a lot going on lately with XRP.
