When everything is red on coinmarketcap, ripple was the only green one. This is really incredible, I wonder why the price rise so much when bitcoin is taking a big dip. Maybe because of the rumor that it will get list on Coinbase? They said something like they will add 5 news coin in 2018, so I am sure Ripple will probably be one of them. well good job to every one who bought it at a good price. i am a little bit jealous
My 2 cents:

Because money is moving out from Bitcoin and invested in XRP instead. Bitcoin will probably go up in value eventually but the potential for way bigger profit is much much better with Ripple and XRP. The coin is heavy undervalued right now.

It seems that they deliberately control exchange rate. If you look at Bitstamp XRP/USD pair orderbook, you will see a lot of suspiciously rounded orders both buy and sell, giving only corridor of ~10%. Did anyone else notice such orderbook at any exchanges?

Ripple is sitting comfortably at number 3 in the cryptoworld's digital currency with the most biggest market capital. But its price is still at 1$ and it's the cheapest digital currency around with the biggest market capital. If investors will see that and invest more, i think, this digital currency will reach 10$ by January 2018.

Definitely RUN AWAY from poloniex- They are screwing everyone depositing altcoins or money-
This is quote from page 1
"COIN DEVS: BEWARE OF SCAMMERS CLAIMING TO BE FROM POLONIEX. I (busoni/Tristan) am the only one who has the authority to list coins. Furthermore, I will never approach you and ask for a bounty."

"I will operate Poloniex with honesty and integrity and be as transparent as possible when answering your questions. I believe this is the only true way to earn trust."

Bunch of  LIARS I have the equivalent of 82500 $ in ripple as you can see in the link above and it's a  month now I sent multiple tickets and they bury their head in the sand!!!  AWFUL SCAMMERS- Flee from them- You've been warned-

Did anyone of you check the total market cap? I mean, of all Ripple coins, not just the circulating ones.

Here the link: https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/views/market-cap-by-total-supply/

So that means, Ripple's market cap is almost 45% of Bitcoin market cap AND Ripple market cap is more than ETH? Guys, please think about it, there's something wrong with Ripple...
Ripple has an actual purpose and use.  As I understand it's being used by actual real companies for real international money transfers to reduce costs.  BTC and ETH are crap IMO, backed by nothing but hysteria and faith in some poorly defined notion of decentralization, under the assumption that decentralization itself is always a good thing or is the main goal or something.  It's turned into kind of a cult.  I'm honestly not interested in bitcoin anymore.  I don't have faith in its future. The mania will probably go on for some time, but I"m okay missing out on that.  I'd rather buy gold than bitcoin at this point.  It's a much better value proposition for sure.

So why is Ripple besser than ETH / BTC or all those dozens of other coins out there (e.g. IOTA)? Banks / companies can't use for example IOTA? Why does it need Ripple?
IOTA doesn't have a trusted wallet. It is worthless. You can only buy for speculation. And the founders love to speculate about news that is not true. It will worth 0 next year. If you believe on IOTA you should sell everything else include Bitcoin. Because if IOTA success, this means everything else would have no value and Blockchain would die.

Ripple could coexist with Bitcoin. ETH, ADA, Litecoi, Monero... They could have a function with the success of Bitcoin. But IOTA can't.

So, you have 2 option: Or you believe in IOTA and sell everything else. Or you believe in Blockchain and would never buy or hold IOTA.
does ripple have a wallet, don't see any link on their website?

Why dont you use Rippex

XRP has a nice trend. A very good feast rose. Let's see if he can hold it there now. If I hold on, I will gain confidence and continue to take a stronger path.

marketcap means nothing, you don't own a piece of the company

Wrong. Because you basically own a share of the total amount of coins. So there will come a time when all those coins will be placed on the market. Then goodnight.
Wrong, only a small percentage will ever come to the market. That's why market means nothing.

correct 👍

wrong. you can't effectively calculate market cap due to the escrow schedule (release of supply will/can change) and even more so the purchase of XRP by FI's. the purchase of XRP through FI's will never hit the open market as it's a bridge asset for their company, not a means of "hodl'ing" to re-sell like you're doing. there's probably a clause preventing them from reselling even if they wanted to. marketcap is traditionally defined by price x total number of shares outstanding which is a bogus concept for crypto, and specifically for XRP.

i think xrp price may rocket today, but just burdened by bitcoin and the whole market, even so, it still has not fallen as other coins

Yeah, it was for a little while one of only three alts in the Top 100 without a red percentage next to it, seems like a lot of holders simply unwilling to sell. Right now it's just gone back below $1, I'm really tempted to buy at this rate, since I don't have Ripple in my hedge. But I promised to wait out this storm. Guess I'm just glad the storm's finally here, so we can all weather it quickly and pack our bags for the year. But if Ripple goes back below 80 cents, then I don't know if they'll ever be a good price again. What do you say's a good entry point or is the bear not done yet?

Guys it's important that ripple is still around $1 which is a good support for it. Others declined more than ripple. This shows the demand to ripple is still good and people are not doing panic sells in ripple markets.

Expect it to decrease with most of all the major coins, then gradually increase to $2 at the end of 2018 where it would stay for the majority of the time.

Solid coin with a solid gradual increase  (if you're looking for a more conservative coin to put your money in)

Hope you bought earlier this day. It dropped to .62 and now it's going to the moon again mate.

But I do hope that the bear market will be over soon. Cheesy

i have to say in this dropping times of all coins on the market, we can see the benefits of having ripple are very huge, all of my transaction with ripple has no delay, nearly instant with very low fee than any top coins, so i can say the future of ripple will be very great, its price will be much higher than now.

Blog Location:  https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/2017/12/22/xrp-journey-to-number-one/

It's time. We are going to take over #1 in 2018. Don't believe me? You think it's hyperbole? Read my blog post and decide for yourself if my logic makes sense. I chart the path that I think is actually most likely for 2018, and it may lead to some surprises in crypto by year-end.

Hope you enjoy the read!

Thanks, - Hodor
