You only lose if you are quitting in the middle, you wont be consider as a loser if you sell, when you do trading you need to buy and sell to earn profit, even if you are losing profit then it wont be consider as failure, you can consider it as a lesson

There is no specific right time to sell even when you are trading in forex you need to remember one thing that is once you get profit on your investment is really a good thing, if you look for higher margin than definitely you will loose your investment also. That's why you must plan before the price increases.

it what i'm doing since 2014 with my stash, just hold in cold storage, but it's also true that by selling at the peak, and it was not that difficult this time

you could have made more money buying back right now, instead of just letting your bitcoin in cold storage

i don't know if it was intentional or just an honest mistake but what you say and what your picture show are two completely different things!
you show a sinking ship and write hodl on top of it! bitcoin is far from a sinking ship my friend. if anything bitcoin is a rocket with too many kids on it who are sucking its fuel out and giving that fuel to the big whales so they can put that fuel in, after a while when they had enough fuel accumulated.

I think what the image is implying is that we should "hodl" or hold even if it looks like the boat is sinking. Thus the image of a sinking boat with the word "hodl" on it. Relating this to the title and the first sentence of the OP, which is actually the continuation of the title. The whole sentence would be "You only lose if you sell." Hence, what OP is implying is that we should hold even if we see that the prices are sinking or going down. Because the moment you give in to the selling panic and frenzy that is when you will lose money.

No, not really. If you bought it lower than the price today, I think it's still okay if you sell. However, if it's higher, I do think that an option for you to get back your losses is to trade it with altcoin. That's what I'm doing and it's working fine. Just be careful though and be patient.
Yes you're right, maybe if bought at a cheaper price than this would still get some profit. But I'm sure they will regret because when prices are still high they did not buy Cheesy But I think OP speak right, buying when the market goes down it's not good because it does not get the full profit. I also agree with you, trade altcoin is the right way to get profit back. If I might hold until prices rise again.

Definitely especially when people had bought Bitcoin at $1000 plus.

I took a nap then when I woke up I saw Bitcoin at sub $800 price.  Almost touching sub $700.  I wonder what is happening.  Bitcoin looks strong at $850 - $910 range before I nap. Is this another whale manipulation riding the China Government "concern"  announcement?
I think it was manipulation by using the news the Chinese government was inspecting 3 different exchanges and then spinning the news to create FUD saying it was a raid or something and I think that is why the price crashed.

I always sell my bitcoin i don't care if i lose about the price if its getting higher nor bigger i need money for my daily expenses on school i always pay my tuition fee to take examination i can't afford to lose my education this is the only way where i can find a descent job.
I agree for you sir! It's just a matter of priority in terms of selling bitcoin with lower price, Because we earn bitcoin or digital goods for our personal use so it's just a matter of situation when you will sell bitcoin. In terms with you sir you sell bitcoin with lower price because for your education so that is not loss that is actually win for you because you can cash out or sell bitcoin when you need it. So in overall selling with the lower price is not a loss it is the holder to decide if he or she win or loss Smiley

The best time for to do now. More HODL and more lose. I sold them over $1100. How lucky me.

If the other bad news will be coming.
The HODL will get the another lost. For those people trade bitcoin right now.

IF you follow the sheep and get eaten up by fudsters. I have always said it that technical, fundamental analysis is good but the most important thing is the mental analysis of traders.

$1000 was the time to sell, right now, it may not be a good idea, we may be near the new bottom.

Of course, it's easy to speak after things have happened, but everyone thought that we were going to go to $1500-$2000 in the last rise. And we didn't, so now here we are, trying to guess if the current floor has already been reached or not.

It's impossible to know, so have fun gambling. Since im here long term, i'll hold.

Well the current price is still a decent price to considered. Remember exact 2 years ago today, the price was around $260. Although it's a loss for those who bought at around $1,000 recently, they can make up with that loss soon. Don't eye for profits right now for those person involved on that buyers at around $1,000. Just hold and hold and put up some extra ammos to buy again for more while hugging the price decrease scenario.

That is really easy to say but hard to done but let's look at the brighter side of the picture. People entered the bitcoin world of trading so expect a trend like this.

"You only lose if... you don't managed well your future decisions".
