I regret not holding any bitcoin. But I will hold onto my alt coins. My top coins right now are etp, neo, wtc, redpulse, enigma, zen, and zrx. China will lift the ban. It just a matter when. So be patient and you will be rewarded.
BTC, the only one that matters. If it fails then the whole things falls apart. This is reinforced time and time again whenever BTC takes a dip and everyone sells everything off thinking this is the end.
You are correct but at the same time there are other projects that even if they are not as important as bitcoin can give to you great profits if you are able to get in for a good price and ETH is a good example of a coin like that. 
For me the best coin is a wave. I was able to buy them for 0.30$ and keep still!
In your list I have favorite different altcoins I have ethereum , bitcoin , bitconnect but I want to add waves coin because this coin will gives you high profit for sure. Because it's look like ethereum the price before is very low but if you see now it's very high so if you have extra money it's better if you buy altcoin that you thimk you will earn profit in the future. Be vigilant what coin you want to buy.

lots of good coins to have but because from the beginning I know BTC so until now my favorite choice remains BTC and ETH
