I've noticed that it's rare not to have in a family a person who acts in a strange manner. It could be as a result of childhood upbringing. Which may have affected the person psychologically. Home training changes people differently. Grown ups hardly find it difficult to change, once the person gets addicted it takes lots of effort to cure their problem gambling. Even after the problem has been solved the gambler would find himself undergoing similar gambling symptoms for a while until he's completely in control of his actions. Advising them helps, but not everyone loves to take one, especially when they didn't ask for it. As families we only need to have to closely observe the person and endeavor he's not gambling all the time. Explaining to them that gambling once a day is achievable can help the gambler would decide to try it out some day. Then he'd follow the routine of gambling once a day for a long time till it's now a part of him.

There are similar situations as this common amongst most gamblers especially those who are using gambling as a sole source of income, they are so dependent on gambling that they gamble almost every day with high hopes of recovery even when its clear at some point that they are not likely to win even with their multiple trials.

Such persons as your cousin needs professional help probably from a psychologist, therapist or a psychiatrist, any of these people could be of help to getting him out of such addiction els he may continue and things could get really mess around the family resulting from his gambling habit. Going to pay for his dept always will only get him to continuing because he knows that he's got a family that will come rescue him from the mess so instead of paying his depts always that money could be used to seek help for him and an end will be put to such menace

It is good when we adjust our gambling and do not make it affect us especially our relatives. Gambling is supposed to be fun and calculative. This is what many of the big players do before they go in for any bet. Once we are able to calculate and do the normal things that are necessary for us to win a bet, we can be rest assured that we arf going to be seeing more of profits than loses or the profits will be more that the overall loses. Relatives are important people in our life and we should not allow our gambling career to affect our family rapport or relationship.

If your gambling habits are negatively effecting your relatives you really do need to seek help.  I couldn't imagine having a habit so bad that you have to borrow money from family members knowing that you will never repay them, just so you can continue your habit.  I understand that people can have different beliefs and can discriminate against you for how you live your life regardless of if you believe it is bad or not.  However, if you're having to borrow money to keep your habit going and can no longer even provide for yourself, it's a major problem.

What you should do is give gaming advice, it's very easy to say, "take note... for trite advice... about being a `good citizen`"

You have to be an example of what can be done with facts, show that you can quit the game, that you can bet and not die trying, run a successful gaming blog, or how you came out to downsize and abandoned the game and are happy .

No one recovers from bad habits just by: "tapping them on the shoulder", or by coming and writing: Take note.

I think there should be something that one of his siblings should do to at least advise him not to overdo the gambling, although the possibility is small but it doesn't matter as long as it is consistent I think it can make them change a little.

If someone has sold their personal belongings to gamble, they may have become addicted to gambling without anyone realizing it. He cannot stop himself from gambling and already considers gambling to be more important than other things, even though he must have had other activities before he knew about gambling. Total lack of self awareness, some people only know how to learn when it's already too late, but while people are trying to advice them they will not listen, no matter how stupid an advice may sound, you may never know, try to be calm and listen first, not all advice are good, but it's a great thing to hear them out first, then pick the ones that will be useful for you and dump the rest.

You could be doing something wrong, and your present state of mind will accept it like it's normal, but when you give room to advice your mind can grab something helpful from the advice, this is a big problem with some gamblers, they are so stubborn that they will never listen to people, they will feel like they are better at making decisions.

The cautious of your surroundings, make sure that what you are doing isn't having a bad impact on others around you, this is why I told someone that it's better to be a single person as a gambler than having a family, because it's no more you alone, your decisions will affect them as well, unless you don't care, which is a habit of greedy people who thinks only for themselves.

When an individual is addicted to gambling, they'll not know they're addicted. They'll think they're like every other individual and just gambling responsibly but they're not and are making the life of others around them miserable. Gambling addicts can waste all their money gambling, borrow from their family members or friends to gamble and put them in debits too without knowing they're not doing what is right. I don't advice anyone to hang around addictive gamblers as it can influence you.

All individuals have to get it that anything they do don't just affect their lifes but it affects the life of others around them. This includes their family, love ones and friends. Sometimes it affect a bigger cycle of individuals as there are children watching how we behave and learn foeim us. We should be responsive at all times and be a good example to the next generation that'll come after us as there's no benefits in being addicted to gambling.

I have seen situations like this and several times and it wasn't an easy thing. My cousin was involved in something like this and he was selling his personal belongings to gamble and when he sold everything he had he was playing gamble with borrowed funds and his family members were always called to come and pay for his debt. It was so embarrassing. Having a gambling addict in a family is not an easy thing to deal with.

and therefore gamble responsibly so that your gambling will not harm those closest to you. because after all, when you live with your siblings or parents, other people will judge your behavior and will associate this with the people closest to you. if you behave well, maybe other people will judge that your family are good people. but when you don't behave well, especially being an aggressive and irresponsible gambling addict, other people will not only judge you badly but also your siblings and parents who don't give advice or take action to prevent you from becoming an addict and that will lead to shame on them. and therefore gamble responsibly so that your actions will not harm those closest to you.

It really has to be done, the family has to act by helping those who are addicted to gambling to stop their addiction, but in my opinion, even if the family helps them to stop gambling, even if they take actions that might lead to violence in order to make those who are addicted aware, it won't work. if they themselves are addicted to gambling, they have no awareness of their addiction and do not have the slightest intention to give up gambling. because in my opinion someone who is addicted to gambling will experience changes in attitude and behavior and tend to become someone who is more stubborn so they will not easily accept input and suggestions from other people.

The brainwashing that is meant is just a proverb, friends, I mean that their minds are filled with gambling and with winnings from gambling, which makes them addicted to gambling, problems that occur because of their wrong thinking, right? It's natural that they don't realize the impact of gambling because their wrong thinking makes them only think about gambling and not think about other things.

In my opinion, that could happen, because his family already knows that he borrowed the money to gamble, so it's possible they won't give it to him,  and if that's the case  of course people who are addicted to gambling won't lose their minds,  so they You can borrow from other people or from financial companies that can provide loans,  and of course they won't say they're borrowing money to gamble because that's why most people probably won't give loans therefore they will take out loans for other reasons. and of course this can have an impact on their families because because they may not be able to pay off their debts, the person concerned by lending them money could approach their family to ask for responsibility for the actions of their family members who are addicted to gambling.

what makes it interesting to me is that people who are addicted have ambition, where they have such big desires  but they are in the wrong place.  by gambling as a goal to recover losses which makes them eager to get a win that who knows when it will happen thus making them lose more money.

The thing is, most casinos give people the option to self-exclude themselves, but they do not offer relatives of the gambling addict the option to exclude the family member with the gambling problem.

The other thing is, even after self-exclution... gamblers are bombarded with gambling advertisements, so the temptation is still there in their face. (Casinos should remove all marketing to those self-excluded people)

The gambling addict should also take resposibility for their actions and accept that they have a problem and that they need to seek proffesional help.

Without being addicted, even the responsible gamblers that gambles for fun do still have the profitable mindsets while in the field of their gaming so, I don't think there is any side benefits in being addiction rather than the life it ruins and there is no positive benefits of doubt being an addicted gambler would offer other than taking your emotions out of your control.
Finally, you can still chase profits without being an addiction.

When a gambler loss his own money on bet, it does not make a big impact. But when he borrows a small amount of money and gambles, it definitely starts to turn deadly. I have a cousin who is so addicted to gambling to the extent that he borrows money at any available opportunity, even most time he owes the betting company and when he's been called to order by the family the next day he's gonna either borrow another money or will owe the bet company, even we as his family are the ones bearing the brunt as we're the ones paying for the debts he has incurred. We even arrested him and made him sign an undertaking in the police station never to gamble or borrow money again but yet after he was released he still kept on with same habits like we all are tired.

It is really very bad that someone will go to the length of gambling with anything due to addiction and these people are not even ashamed of themselves as the relatives and family members are the ones that others meet to complain about their gambling habits which is very shameful.

It is sad to see people getting addicted to gambling and ruin their lives. Not only they suffer but their friends and family also suffer because of their bad choices. It is important for people with gambling addictions to realize how it affects their relationships and the people they caring about. To stop this family members should step in and stop the addicted person from gambling. They even have to take legal action against the places where they gamble. It is important for everyone to understand that gambling too much can have serious consequences for themselves and the people around them.

Anyone would feel annoyed if our sibling borrowed the money and in the end it had an impact on us and had to bear the consequences of the gamblers gambling, maybe for him this was not a burden but we who are his siblings felt that he was a burden to us because he continues to carry out stupid action that harm everyone, borrowing money is an act that is out of controls because he is no longer able to gamble but is still determined to do it. Someone who is addicted will find it difficult to stop because all that is on his mind is the ambition to achieve satisfaction and achieve big profits or recover the losses he has experienced so far so he will not stop before getting back the money he has lost because addicts believe that their money will one day come back again, even though it is very difficult to get.

It might affect your life first and then the lives of the people around you because you might do harm to them when you desperately need more money to gamble. The people in your country is strange or too evil enough to think like that. What if that bad thing also happens to them? Pretty sure they will also feel bad. Though maybe not all people there are like that? You for example.

You admit that you are also involved in gambling but at the same time you also admit that you are doing better with your life. But That was nice to here mate. If only more people are like that, the image of gambling won't ever be ruined but it will only be praised more.
