I don't have exactly a mantra, instead I just keep mentalizing the result I'm expecting from the game. I intensively imagine the result I would like to see and try to transfer it to the reality. Some time ago, I had the habit of crossing my fingers as well, because that is a symbol of luck and that things are going to work as the person wishes, but there is a long time already since I don't do this anymore.
I believe positive thoughts in general are good to bring luck, confidence and enjoyment to a gambling session, as in every other aspects of your personal life. Mantras do work, unfortunatelly most people tend to stick with the negative ones...

LOL Cheesy, did you guys actually win every bet when you cast those spells? Unlike you, I don't believe it, every bet must have a 50:50 percentage for wins and losses.

Things like that actually have no effect on gambling, I used to have sacred items before gambling, I believe that when I carry those items, I will be lucky. But when I gamble, instead of winning, I lose. After I saw several articles related to it, I realized that all these things are suggestions that make our self-confidence increase.
Well, those mantra may don't bring out good effects for most of us, but maybe for some it does. So i guess the effects are different though. But as for me, no mantras happening, i just wish myself good luck and that's all, i'm ready to gamble. Maybe because gambling for me is simply more fun than money. Although i sometimes place a huge amount depending on the match, but in most cases i only bet  a small amount just to entertain myself and have fun.
Gambling should really be for fun and not for making money or something making it as a source of income yet this isn't how things should really be treated with specially we do talk about gambling which is a game of chance.

For some people whom do really believe about mantras and other behavior or beliefs then just let them be yet we do have different perception when it comes to gambling on which some people do really believe that it do really works which we know that this isn't something possible.

We have our own takes when it comes to gambling.
As long as you are not harming anyone with your beliefs, that's more than fine.
From my end, I really don't have the mantra, but before spending with my games, I know how much I can spend or lose.
So when I reached that amount, it means, I need to stop no matter what. Though sometimes I go below that amount, but not much.

I and many of my friends have our own mantra before and after we gamble, I just discovered this when we have a drinking session we find out that many of us have our own mantra before, while playing and after or even in the middle of playing.

Mine was "This is my lucky day and I'm claiming it" and when in the middle of the game "I need to play money that I can afford to lose".

How about you do you have one and when do you recite it before, while playing or after you gamble.

Well it is not a mantra but more of a ritual- before I gamble, I used to put a penny inside my shoes and I stepped on it before I gamble my resources away. As for my brother, he always say the phrase "win or lose, at least I had fun."

Though these mantras or rituals may have no effect on the gambling odds/chances, it somehow gives the players this comfort and motivation that everything will be alright. This kind of effect is similar when you give yourself a pep-talk where it somehow boosts your confidence before you do something.

Sometimes believing on superstitious beliefs what make other feel relax and concentrated to the games the play this is why we see people believing on such things. Although it sounds pathetic for others who believe but this one exist as many people have different tradition towards things what they do. But if we really look at it scientifically there's no relation to anything and the mood we set will always depend on us.

What most important to all of this is we know our limits because if we already set this for sure we will never experience any huge loss or be happy for the result of our play time at the end of the day.
Actually superstitious belief is only to calm the mind before starting gambling games, they tend to focus more on luck in the game, but the fact will not have any effect, except for real casinos maybe luck from rituals can indirectly work, but if online casinos we know not will be able to affect the programming code.

And that's what I said many believe for something like this especially on a country which is so rich on many traditions. So don't get surprised for people to believe on something what we see weird to us since for sure all of this has relation with their own beliefs. If we look at it deeply for there's totally no relation to anything because we know most of the games in casino is base on RNG so all of it is just pure luck nothing else nothing more.

I remember when I first started gambling, I still believed that spells could give me luck when gambling. It turned out that my guess was wrong,
because based on my experience with gambling, it turns out that this kind of thing has nothing to do with gambling results. But as you said,
it's everyone's right regarding our respective beliefs in mantras. Let the one who believes in the spell do it for himself, in the end they will realize
that such things will not make them successful in winning the gamble. After all, gambling is just for fun, so there's no need to be obsessed with
making a profit. Moreover, we spend our time looking for effective spells so that we can continue to win when gambling, it will only make us waste
our precious time.

I'm sorry but I think this is meaningless, imagine the following:

Liverpool vs Real Madrid

On the pitch there are 90,000 people watching the game, 45,000 of which are Liverpool fans and 45,000 people are Real Madrid fans. if all fans are doing this kind of ritual that you said, this god for whom they will be doing the ritual, will not be able to choose a side, he will be neutral and say: " the best team will win on the field "

this is simple, even if you say to yourself: "I will win..." your words will never be able to change a certain result of a game.

As the saying goes, a pair of hands doing a job bring more results than millions of hands folded in prayer. You are right words do not affect reality in any way, they are just a way to express your position or cheer yourself up. In principle, I am sure that everyone (even those who use mantras) understands this, but people's behavior is not always rational.

I don't use any mantras while gambling because I think it's completely useless. It seems to me that those players who chant some mantra during the game are just trying to shift the responsibility for their actions and choices to something sacred.

In my opinion it is necessary before the game to understand that all your deposit will remain in the casino. Then in the case of winning you get a lot of pleasure.
no one believe mantras could changes their luck while gambling started. there is no correlation between luck and mantras, everything depend on luck to win or lose. moreover in modern gambling , no one could fight againts machine that controlled by computer. game house will not let us win alot , they will changes algorithm while alot user win in their bet.

I think the mantra that they believe will help them to stabilize their mindset towards something. If they do that just to remind their self that they don't need to put an extra mile just to win the game even though it is not beyond their capabilities then let them do it. Everyone has their own thing just to discipline themselves in gambling , because it is very hard to stop if we are always winning we forgot the thing that we can also lose.

exactly, things like this do not affect your chance of winning or anything. that being said, things like this can help you concentrate, increase your confidence, be in a better mood, etc... people might find some of it ridiculous but if it helps the person to have a better judgement when gambling, then good for him/her.

That is exactly how mantra works, it's not like it will help people or certain individual to win more and go home with a big smile because of that big earnings they brought at home. Mantra exists because the things are made by people and there's no scientific explanation that mantra really helps or works exactly just how we imagined. If there's other people whom you know that do these things, let's just understand and accept their beliefs.

I don't recite anything (and from the thread it seems that most people here don't), but I do believe that it's good to remind yourself of certain things before, during and after gambling. Not to win, of course, as it would have zero effect on that, but to manage potential losses. So I remind myself of the budget, of that I can afford to lose and thus to gamble with. I also remind myself of the time frame I can dedicate to it, and that there's no need to be overly emotional about losing or about winning. So far, it has helped me to stay in control, to not get upset and to not lose what would be too much for me.

There are things that I kept on saying in my mind unintentionally. Maybe that's when I feel overwhelmed. I just keep on reminding myself that I'll stop after a game whenever I win or lose as long as I used my allocated funds for the game. I had this kind of habit when I overplayed once and used almost half of my salary on gambling. I also make sure that I have a positive mood before playing.

I am not sure if I'm the only one who says some kind of things on my mind just to win some games. It depends on my mood and how much that is at stake. There was a time I put what was more than my power, I was just not comfortable with the game and I told myself, this is the last one I will play and If I should win, that will be my last and use the money responsibly. Guess what, the game went as predicted and it has become a norm now that I will be telling myself that this is going to be the last one just to win any money I stake on games.

How about you do you have one and when do you recite it before, while playing or after you gamble.

Isn't this fall under gambling fallacy or mistaken belief about sequences of random event?  You can read more about gambling fallacy here.

Anyway, I don't have any.  I never think anything when in gambling except that the fund I am holding is already lost and any winnings is just a bonus.
^ It seems they are familiar, just a belief in yourself.
We had different superstitious beliefs about gambling, just like the color of wearing clothes, a bad luck sign upon go to the gambling and even people do prayer before they will start in gambling. That is why I did not wonder why there are called Mantra in calling, that is because you encourage yourself to gamble that has a positive vibe, which means possible the luck will be with your once you are in a positive vibe. But still, that belongs to superstitious belief for me.

As you said this will only be a suggestion for confidence but will not change anything in gambling because the main fact is gambling is relying on luck and nothing more.
But even so, it's still not wrong to do things like this because this is still in a reasonable level and it's not wrong to do things like that to increase self-confidence
