I and many of my friends have our own mantra before and after we gamble, I just discovered this when we have a drinking session we find out that many of us have our own mantra before, while playing and after or even in the middle of playing.

Mine was "This is my lucky day and I'm claiming it" and when in the middle of the game "I need to play money that I can afford to lose".

How about you do you have one and when do you recite it before, while playing or after you gamble.
Afaik mantra is a kind of ritual or a superstitious beliefs. Playing or spending what you can afford to lose is just a golden rule but I don't think it is qualified as a mantra tho the first one you said, the lucky day thing can be considered as one. There are many more like wearing a certain color of t-shirt, praying before or in the middle of betting, and so on.

Lately I've been gambling carelessly. No not the one you are thinking of spending recklessly but I mean is I don't mind losing or even winning, this allows me to gamble calmly and with less to no regrets at all. With that said, there is no need for me to do any mantra's but before, I always pray that I will win. It sometimes work but sometimes don't.

I confess that I had a good laugh after reading your post.
To be honest, I've never had any mantras, but I believe that it can help a lot to raise a player's self-esteem and even help him to have better results, why not!?
I hope that in addition to saying your mantra, that you are actually applying it during games.
I wish you a good bettings!
I dont have any too but if that makes the player be motivated to win then why not? We have our own strategy and way of thinking even it seems funny. It might not influence the result of the game directly to win but somehow if this mantra can give you confidence, it can help your mind to think positive even the outcome is uncertain.

Yes, I believe that mantras are a form of self-motivation, to face gambling with a positive attitude, rather than something that has to do with results. Maybe if you face gambling with a positive attitude you know how to stop in time if you lose and not chase losses, and also stop to enjoy the money if you win.
positive sentences are included in the category of motivational sentences. I've studied a little about psychology (only a few semesters) and the speech we issue is divided into 3 parts = positive, negative and interrogative. The three of them will definitely have an effect on the subconscious if they are said loudly and confidently, so try so that before gambling we don't have problems that can have a negative effect on our bodies, minds and words.

That's non-sense to me as I only stick with applying strategy and good bankroll management.

But I do respect that some guys out there like you that do have that lucky-related stuff before doing gambing. I just found it not comfortable and relying on luck is like risking our money without even a chance to fight for real.

If it's effective for you, then nothing wrong to stick with that idea.

I guess those are just the same encouragements that we've got when we gamble. The same words that I say whenever I want to gamble before and just after when I lose, I'll just turn around and say that it's not my lucky day.

So, try again later or by some other days.

But what I am more interested is with the rituals that I've read before, I barely most of it but I think that's more interesting than these encouraging words.

It’s before the game, I had mantra towards the gambling. I had a strong way of “ My god, allow me to shine in the game of gambling.” Because I had involved my own money and I had borrowed some money from the people who had allow me. Sometimes I won’t had anything in the gambling, in order to play and recovered my loss. I will play the game and win the game with minimum profit.

I had strong believe towards my birth luck and my star luck. I don’t involve in any mantra or encouraging any mantra on this gambling. I will play my best shot, secondly have a look of clean game. If this workout their is a chance of win. Even if I had loss the money, I won’t bother at any time. I had all time luck to recover my money loss. This is my game of gambling.

Those mantra probably helps you stay in a possitive mood but it won't likely work in sportsbetting if you have not done your job before placing your money. You get more luck when you are more informed. I think I've uttered words similar to those when I played games that are purely based on luck.

No mantra but just what to stay positive if I'm going to gamble. However, most of the time I tend to lose if I play games like slots and roulette so I will suggest to stay away with them as the odds are stack against you.

I know though that there are a lot of superstitious gamblers and maybe have this kind of mantra for goodluck but I don't blame them.
Yes, same with mine mate. I don't have any mantra every time i gamble but i always see to it that once i start to gamble, i'm not bothered and i don't have to entertain negative things as it could only lost my luck and that i could not focus anymore to the game. So while i am in the middle of gambling, i always think of winnings rather than losses but of course, whatever the result i am very much open about it. The perks when you only gamble on your extra money so you won't have to deal with much losses after that.

Quote
man·tra
1. (originally in Hinduism and Buddhism) a word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation.

2.  a statement or slogan repeated frequently.

It can be an aid so you can concentrate on what you're doing, in this case, it's on gambling, and its slogan to motivate you or a reminder when you need to stop I guess everyone has one but they don't want to associate it to magical spell or ritual, I have one and it's a reminder when to stop and when to continue playing, I don't think anyone here is playing without minding how he plays and these so-called reminders is an aid that we are doing good or have to stop when we are doing bad.

I don't call it a 'mantra', I just call it a word of encouragement. before playing gambling, I slightly hugged my cheeks and said 'today I will not lose, I will definitely win, for sure'. I've read that sentences of encouragement can make a person more confident and right in making decisions (right time).

Spell? No. I don't use spells to gamble. But I respect people who use spells because maybe it's a habit they have to do before starting to gamble. I don't know what will happen after they cast the spell, whether they win or lose. But it could be possible some can win while some of them lose.

But for your case, I don't think it's a mantra but it's some affirmation that gets repeated to give us a thought or some positive energy or something so that our subconscious will respond to it. But as for the result, I don't know because it's beyond my senses.

Yes, I use auto-training techniques (autogenic training) to manage my psychological state during the game.

In doing so, I do not use the term "mantra", but the term "litany".

I love reading the Dune series of science fiction novels.  The women's military-political order "Bene Gesserit" appears in these novels.  Members of this order actively used auto-training techniques called "litanies".

In particular, the "Litany Against Fear" was used very often.  When I have fear of losing, I read the "Litany Against Fear".  It helps me gain control over my emotions.  I also read aloud the "Litany Against Greed".  Gambling always evokes strong emotions in people.  Litanies allow you to gain psychological balance and control over emotions.

This allows you to minimize the potential loss and maximize the potential winnings in gambling.

Gambling players do have spells that they read when playing gambling. but I wonder if the spell is able to bring victory in gambling. I've never recited a mantra, even a prayer of a mantra, I don't know. I only rely on luck in playing gambling. now I want to ask if Drake cast a spell before playing gambling.

OP, I do not know if you watched Eddie's Stream (Stake.com) on Saturday. The one guy he brought into the Stream from Discord, was actually singing to the Slot to pay. It was very funny and it actually worked... because he won some good money from "Moon Princess"  Roll Eyes

I also see a lot of people rubbing the Slot screen when they play in Brick n Mortar casinos..... so I do not know if it is just a habit or if they think it is somehow soothing or pleasurable for the Slot machine.  Roll Eyes

I swear at the machine ...when it takes my money ...and I can guarantee you that it is not working.  Wink

You're not going to lose anything if you have one mine is Hit the jackpot and I'm saying that to myself when making a bet its a luck-based game and in the olden time people are summoning luck it's a tradition inherent in us the mantra is believing that we are confident in our bet and luck will be on our side it's not a guaranty that it will work but you'll have a positive mindset and that's important in gambling.

I think it's important to know roughly the odds and certainly the rules of the game your playing - especially if you walked into a casino and liked to try a bit of everything. If you hop on to a slot machine, maybe knowing whether it's taken a lot in without any payouts can work in your favor. If you're at the blackjack table you better be ready to play a perfect game or you will leak money much faster than you will to the basic house edge. Ultimately it comes back to having fun, unless you're walking into a poker tournament as part of your career then you have to understand that casinos and sportbooks are pretty good at calculating how to take your money, so go with the flow and accept some free drinks along the way.
