I and many of my friends have our own mantra before and after we gamble, I just discovered this when we have a drinking session we find out that many of us have our own mantra before, while playing and after or even in the middle of playing.

Mine was "This is my lucky day and I'm claiming it" and when in the middle of the game "I need to play money that I can afford to lose".

How about you do you have one and when do you recite it before, while playing or after you gamble.

I'm sorry but I think this is meaningless, imagine the following:

Liverpool vs Real Madrid

On the pitch there are 90,000 people watching the game, 45,000 of which are Liverpool fans and 45,000 people are Real Madrid fans. if all fans are doing this kind of ritual that you said, this god for whom they will be doing the ritual, will not be able to choose a side, he will be neutral and say: " the best team will win on the field "

this is simple, even if you say to yourself: "I will win..." your words will never be able to change a certain result of a game.

Don't know what spell you mean in gambling games, do we have to believe in spells, maybe for me there is no such thing as a spell.

I have a principle, gambling has risk and luck, where someone else is having luck they will make a claim as much and as they want, Losing, something that is often experienced by many gamblers, inevitably it is one of the risks in placing bets.

Isn't this fall under gambling fallacy or mistaken belief about sequences of random event?  You can read more about gambling fallacy here.

Anyway, I don't have any.  I never think anything when in gambling except that the fund I am holding is already lost and any winnings is just a bonus.

Things like that actually have no effect on gambling, I used to have sacred items before gambling, I believe that when I carry those items, I will be lucky. But when I gamble, instead of winning, I lose. After I saw several articles related to it, I realized that all these things are suggestions that make our self-confidence increase.
exactly, things like this do not affect your chance of winning or anything. that being said, things like this can help you concentrate, increase your confidence, be in a better mood, etc... people might find some of it ridiculous but if it helps the person to have a better judgement when gambling, then good for him/her.

well maybe this is some kind of ritual which is nice enough to increase your suggestion but things like this don't really get lucky there.
I personally always say a few words but it's random like I will win and the like that builds confidence in myself but this is not used as a benchmark because it's just a habit
Yeah, we don't know either because we don't use her way.
It could be that he is used to saying such mantra so that if he doesn't read them, he will feel insecure about gambling.
If you are also used to saying words like that, you need to remember that gambling depends on luck and it's not an indicator always to be lucky and win.
So we will not expect too much after reading a mantra, we will always win.
You don't play the way the op plays and yet you can still be able to win in gambling, right? That only shows that gambling really is depending on luck and not because of any other things like mantra, however I remember that there are some practices like what the Chinese communities are doing, I think it's called feng sui which is said to attract luck though I don't really know if that is different from the mantra.

When you attract luck, maybe you can also increase your chances of winning in gambling? Not really sure though but maybe it's only a business because the Chinese are selling some artifacts in which you can use for the said ritual.

Its like reminding yourself not to spend more.since younare losing. But thats a good alarm to set when you gamble as it prevents you from losing more.

In the middle of the game mantra is important. Because if it were me and I have a scotch in my glass, my mantra would sill be, "I'd hit a biggie next round". Thats always been my mantra but once there is no more to spend thats the time of realization mantra.

I don't know if you had a scotch before writing this, I say that because of the spelling. Actually, drinking alcohol while gambling is a perfect recipe for disaster, because it lowers your self-control mechanisms.

Regarding mantras, I think that what you say deep down reflects that everyone knows they don't work. Like the sportsman who makes some gestures before starting a game. He does them but sometimes he wins and sometimes he loses. So there is no relationship between the mantra or gestures and reality.

In luck-based games like dice, slots, roulette, etc. that was common for people to use a sort of lucky stuff to defy the law of the house of edge and provably fair algorithm. Not just in online gambling but chances that we can also see it in a physical casino. There's no choice for them but to use that lucky stuff since no method or strategy is needed playing in luck-based gambling games.

In sports-betting or strategy-based games, these people can still use any mantra or lucky staff but they have to consider doing some analysis too to increase the chances of winning as these gambling games don't rely on 100% luck.

Slowly, these people should remove the thinking that these mantras will affect the chances of their winning.

At this point in my life, every gamble is just that. A high stake probability for which I am always open to accepting the result. Perhaps I didn't have any before playing other than being hopeful. Although, when I lose, I be like, 'what the hec, next match day live is another day. Yeah, I never get to play everyday as its not a very good habit to develop, everyday don't come with the same combination of games that I would like to bet on, it helps to save money and puts gambling addiction in check.
Over the years, I have come to gamble for fun as it seems the best way to enjoy both your games and gambling. If I win, then good. If I loose, what the hec!

Mine:

Before: I do need to enjoy and spending the amount which i could afford to lose
Midway: If winning (I'll need to stop, just a little or few more win) ,, If losing (I'll try next one and might able to break even somehow)
After: That was a good run (but deep inside there's frustration)  Cheesy

I dont believe with those common superstitious or chants or something in related because
luck isnt something that couldnt be influenced.

Maybe the habit of some gamblers always do something strange before betting on gambling, so they call it a spell or ritual, so it won't work in actual fact but seems to get luck from the influence of the spell. I will not believe in manta luck, but the fact that analysis of each gambling pattern will be able to have a chance to win.
I myself often do some kind of method before I gamble and I don't think it's a spell but I should take a shower before I gamble. I do this because if the body is fresh and the mind is calm it will give you peace and comfort when gambling. Besides that, I also have to control my lust in playing gambling because I always choose to stop for a moment if I have won and continue again when my mind is really focused.

"Every roll is different." That's what I always tell myself before I start, during my game, and after my session. It kind of gives you this false hope but also gives you that hesitation to pursue even further if ever you find yourself in a winning position. This, so far, has helped me accept defeat and take wins, and it helps me appreciate what I lost or won at that particular day. Kinda cheesy but it helps condition your mind.

We have our own ways in approaching the game. So it is understandable that if you set yourself that every game is different, then of course, the outcome may also be different. So no expectations from your end. Just like what I am telling to myself, if I am playing crash, don't expect that I can always guess right when to stop. If you are in luck-based game, you are basically playing with your luck. So whatever the outcome is, you should accept it. No hard feelings.

LOL Cheesy, did you guys actually win every bet when you cast those spells? Unlike you, I don't believe it, every bet must have a 50:50 percentage for wins and losses.

But when I gamble, instead of winning, I lose. After I saw several articles related to it, I realized that all these things are suggestions that make our self-confidence increase.

It is clear that all these mantras, rituals and talismans exist not because they are beneficial in gambling (or in other areas), but because they serve as a sedative for people who are too worried. I heard that reciting poetry helps to deceive the lie detector, apparently reciting mantras has a similar calming effect, so people quickly get used to using them.

That's funny yet an effective mantra to start playing with positive motivation. I believe that positivity attracts good luck. Yes, I'm doing the same mantra. I always remind myself that "this day is mine" but still be mindful of my limits. A good mindset could also help us create good decisions because based on my experience, we enjoy if we have a positive outlook towards the whole game.

Lol this is all superstitious stuff and honestly when doing this it sounds like you guys might have a bit of an issue when it comes to gambling (now I could be very wrong about that, just making an assumption here).  I don't think think any sort of "mantra" is necessary because I don't take it that seriously. I don't ever want to be in a position where I'm doing things like this as I see that as being too deeply invested.

I'm not sure, but I believe this mantra is most popular in South East Asian countries, but it is not practiced in first-world countries. I would mostly do before playing is like to think positively and say the lucky word before betting, "Please be good to me" or "Please be lucky" three times. I know this does not always work for me, but it can boost my luck because, I think, playing without saying it is like there is something lacking. There is nothing wrong with this. Let's just respect each other. We are playing to enjoy and to earn some money.

I can’t say that I use mantras, but rather a proverb that, on the one hand, reflects my willingness to lose money, on the other hand, expresses regret about the lack of a big win and it sounds like this: “we didn’t live richly - so no let to start.” The translation is a little crooked (proverbs are difficult to translate literally) but the meaning is clear )
