    - There is a byte limit to the size of a post. This is the reason why there are only 410 lines in the post.
Adding the full 500 goes over the limit imposed by the forum.

why not just break it up to two post? 250 on one and 250 on another? Just an idea

I see, so instead of changing your script from "410" to "500" as you advertised, you change the thread name....

May as well be the two 4 addresses if that's the case. lol  Cheesy

Why does this thread state it is the 500 RICHEST addresses yet when I put it into excel it's something like the top 410 addresses...

Can you fix this?

There's lots of chatter about early hoarders in light of the new paper, here's one post which embeds informative graphs and relevant links
http://www.loper-os.org/?p=1009

1. I happen to disagree with the conclusions for several reason, I don't think the distribution of owners / hoarders is nearly as top heavy as it used to be and I think it's getting less top heavy with time.
2. Early adopters are unlikely to call cash out at the same time unless most of early 78% of hoarded coins are held by nefarious gov't organizations
3. Massive selling does not need to lead to the end of bitoin and the price can and will recover in the future, hence it's not necessarily a kill switch

I have used multiple addresses to receive coins, so that means I have many addresses with small amounts?

Why not longest idle wallets? I don't care who is loaded I care how many BTC are lost forever. Less usually means more when it comes to value.

I just looked at my 300ish address and found less than 10% used small letters. That is very odd and I don't know why.

It is definitely an artifact of the base58 encoding and is normal. A small number of addresses will have a slightly smaller length as well.  For a simple illustration, imagine a number set with numbers evenly distributed between 1 and 5999999. This number set will have numbers starting with 6,7,8,9 but will occur far less frequently than ones starting with 1,2,3,4,5. In bitcoin base58 the lowercase letters stand for the highest base58 digits.

A slightly off-topic, but curious factoid:

I've just noticed that VERY few of these addresses begin with 1[a-z] ... The overwhelming majority begins with 1[A-Z] or 1[0-9]. I would have expected a more random distribution. Any explanation for that? Perhaps I'm missing something obvious.

Spending too much time in here doesn't mean I ignore the fact there is life and Bitcoin outside this forum.

There is ?

Pray tell us more O wise one, we are hanging in deep anticipation at your every word.

I'm not on the business of teaching dumbasses to browse the web. You have to figure it out for yourself.

.03133700

What's with the 0.03133700? On most of them.

31337 means "elite" in LeetSpeak.
Elite would be 13373 in the original calculator dialect.
