OMG! It's time for super over!

Bad luck NZ. The scores still remain same in Super over too and England is the winner.
Just before the super over, NZ could have won it in the match if that bowl was not gone to boundary on the throw by hitting the bat.

Yeah, the New Zealanders will see that four of over-throw in their nightmare for the next few weeks. Very bad luck indeed. Just before this match, New Zealand was pretty much the luckiest team of the world cup, but now it seems like their luck paid off the debt.

Anyways, this was probably the best world cup final ever.

England needs another 236 runs to win, with 48 overs and 10 wickets remaining. From this point, there is close to 100% probability of England winning the match, and the trophy. Only something stupid from their part can alter the result. My only concern is that both Jason Roy and Johnny Bairstow have started very cautiously... that's not needed. They should play in their natural style.

England are now in  control of the match. They still have six wickets in had while they require slightly more than 6.5 runs per over.
A quick successive wicket may change the momentum but Buttler and Stokes seems to be holding and rotating the strike well. Which is enough to make them win.
The partnership between Jos Butler and Ben Stokes have crossed 100 runs and now they've secured their names on the history making big partnership on world cup final chases. Now the fifth wicket of Jos Butler have fallen for England, and this is gonna be a very closer match with equal chance of winning for both the teams.

Lol. Spoken like a true hater. Its quite pathetic seeing you fools make such dumb statements. Anyone with a half decent brain could tell that India and England had a great chance of lifting the cup this time around.

England and India are literally on top of the ODI rankings. Lucky to beat Australia by 36 runs? Lol. The truth is that New Zealand had the devils luck(Rain) through out this tournament and ended up reaching the finals.
Imagine New Zealand is the World cup champion. Then in the Sri Lanka series they will lose the series against Sri Lanka. Then again in England series they will lose against England. No disrespect to the New Zealand team but this team is very much dependable on Kane Williamson. With him this is an average team and without him this is a below average team.

I remember when Sri Lanka was world champion, they continued the legacy for the next several years. They were very tough team.

Kane Williamson has only made 30 in the final match and faced 54 balls. He did not get the chance to recover the run rate. Now there is a lot of responsibility on Ross Taylor if NZ were to make a decent score here.  Nicholls also need to make to a big score to keep NZ in the game.
Today England bowling was on target and they give no chances to kiwis so now they have some decent target for winning first ever world cup.

Australia was always a bad luck for New Zealand and not getting to play with Australia made them reach the final. India was just a hyped team, they were no competition to New Zealand or England. They got lucky with Australia. England and New Zealand are undoubtedly the top 2 teams at the moment.

India was getting lucky too. Their only rain game was against NZ, the team that absolutely decimated them in the semis.

India where unlucky that they had to bat on 2nd day and due to which pitch did not supported batsman in early hours of play and thus India lost the game their only . Had the match played in the same day Nz might have lost badly the same match they won on 2nd day .

I know India was jumping so high, they were extra confident about their win in this world cup but as we know there is not success for the proud, NS played really stick and we good game with India so they were not able to win, finally now India is out from the world cup so I hope NS will win this cup, I wish them good luck.

Srilanka were a much better team than NZ current team in 1996. They win the 1996 World cup and they truly deserve it. Actually before that time it was considered  to slowly start the innings but it was srilanka who started hitting in the first 15 overs and changed the overall mindset of ODI. But with passage of time they could not continue their form and none of the new players made any big impact on international cricket.
Srilanka team became an average team after the retired of Sangakara, Mahela, Dilshan. Before this, they were a good team. They played 2007 world cup final, 2011 world cup final in ODI. In T20, they lifted the cup in 2014 and played final 2 times more in 2009 and 2012. They were a giant till 2014 probably. After that, they were not able to find a significant player.

I’m not a fan of cricket really by my Father is English so I’ll be rooting for them to win the final. They're not usually this good are they, England? I don’t think they have been to a final for a very long time.

They were not good before but last 2-3 years, they are 1 of the top team. They changed the attitude towards ODI cricket and that changes everything for them.

See every time the winning will not work to the same team always each time the situation of the team will changes because we might see many New upcoming cricketers will change the formats. This year we are going to see a new team winning the world cup.

India didn't win because they played on second day. NZ had significant bowling, you must not deny that. Some early wickets fallen made India so nervous. NZ didn't got lucky. they made it in favor of them.

IMO, India lost because of the following factors:

1. NZ had the advantage of the team batting first
2. India took NZ very lightly and never considered them as tough opponents
3. Dhoni, as usual failed to score the boundaries and keep scoreboard ticking
4. Younger players (Rishabh Pant, Hardick Pandya) went for unnecessary shots and got out
5. Kane Williamson used the right bowlers on specific occasions
There's a lot to blame, a lot of reason can be made. Dhoni's slow batting even if the RR was increasing, Pant's unnecessary short as you mentioned, A big change in batting position etc, but at the end of the day those are common mistakes all the team do very often. NZ has done well but India just got unlucky, that's the truth.

India I think were unlucky that they played on the second day where pitch was covered the whole night and if the match would have a happened the same day NZ would have lost the match easily and India would have played against England in finals .

The possibility for each and every team has been available in the beginning but sometimes will not using their chances in the right time in the beginning stage also we need to perform well then only at the end we can in the safe zone otherwise if we stand in both the difficult situation it will definitely not possible for most of the time and many teams not get into the semifinals due to the the single success.
