English players do have a problem with discipline. Ben Stokes was involved in a brutal fist-fight in the city of Bristol, which left at least one individual severely injured. And yesterday, county cricketer Alex Hepburn was jailed for 5 years for sexual assault. These guys need to learn a few lessons from the old generation players, who were known for their gentlemanly behavior.
Ben Stokes once said that was the best lesson he ever had and he regretted for it. People go through times and events. You can not just blame the entire nation for one or two individuals action.

I don't know about Alex Hepburn but if that is true case then he has been treated the same way a normal English would have been treated.

I didn't meant to generalize the English players. And indiscipline is an issue not just with the English team, but with the other teams as well. As JSRAW pointed out, a few months ago Hardik and Rahul got two match suspensions for their motormouths. I have a feeling that at least some of the players are getting arrogant as a result of receiving too much wealth.
There are arrogant players in every team due to various reasons in any period of time since all players are basically human beings at the end of the day.

Based on what I have observed, majority of the players are disciplined while a few are indisciplined compared to a sport like Soccer where its usually the reverse.

Someone please give 1 or 2 merit to OP. I don't have available now.

KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya facing 2 match bans due to their comments on a show ‘Koffee with Karan’

Will they miss world cup matches? I guess India will be in little trouble without Hardik Pandya. He is a great asset for the team.

Heh, literally the best thing about writing Hindi/Urdu "in" English alphabets is that you cannot translate it using any translator! Grin

Anyways, translating it for you:

"Kya Raja bhai. subah subah" = Why [this awful news] Raja brother, so early in the morning?

"Bhai itni jaldi kyun uth jaate ho aap?" = Brother, why do you wake up [and open bitcointalk] so early?

Let's stick to English from now on, @JSRAW!
LOL
So google is a joke!

"Thank you for your help"
and
"Brother, why do you wake up [and open bitcointalk] so early?"
Is not even close.

I wonder how this translation bounty abusers do their job using google translator :-D

By the way guys, I don't mind you both use your local language. I was just kidding :-)

Pandya’s comments have been slammed as misogynistic and sexist, drew a lot of flak from all corners especially on social media, prompting CoA to take serious look at the matter. The all-rounder, in response, said he was sincerely regretful and would not repeat the behaviour.
https://www.news18.com/cricketnext/news/coa-chief-recommends-two-odi-ban-for-pandya-rahul-awaits-eduljis-approval-1997767.html

These days social media plays major role in our private and professional life.
This is old news. Was not surprised honestly since Pandya has attitude issues even though he is a brilliant cricketer. He seems to have learnt from his mistake though along with Rahul and they still have a bright future ahead of them in the Indian team going forward.

What is it with Hardik and Rahul? Sorry I did not follow Indian team much in previous days. By the way, I think Stoke was honest about his statement, rest is up to him of-course.

This was the case, I was being lazy to type, so end up wasting 15mins only to find that post. dumb choice!!

Royse bhai, everyone says the same after being punished or getting caught. Hardik and Rahul saying the same thing.

Vishnu is right when he's talking about discipline, Some English players do have this problem but on individual level not as a country or team.

And yes, no one should blame or judge the entire team or country for that.

He wasn't in a very good form too actually , I am more impressed and keen to see Warner in world cup than Steve.

Guess, He did okay in the end, right? I am excited for both of them but yes Warner for more because of my biased opinion.

If England manages to reach final, I doubt they will lose if the opponent is not Australia. Australia is likely to be the champion this time.
Alex Hales will miss the world cup due to taking drug. It's sad for him and team England as well.

I will be disappoint if this happens but not going to hold my breathe or finger crossed for them despite they are my fav for this World cup. let the best team win the World cup. which is India ofcourse lol Grin

Indeed they have solid lineup of batsmen. If somehow England reach the World Cup Final and manage to lose then I would like to see Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain and Micheal Holding reaction Cheesy

South Africa may be the team that is going to surprise everyone this time. I still remember the semi-final between South Africa and Australia 20 years back. The match was tied, but Australia progressed to the finals due to the higher run rate. Till that match, everyone were expecting that South Africa would be the team that was going to win the trophy.
I think they are the dark horses in this tournament(Not West Indies). Too many people underestimate them due to their choking tag, but this time might be different. They have an amazing lineup which I feel is the best one in ages.

I think they will easily make it to the semis, but I am not sure after that point.

South Africa has one of the most impressive bowling lineup among all teams. With Rabada and Ngidi in fast bowling department, South African opening bowling duo is fastest among all. Also Dale Steyn showed in IPL this season that there is still lot of cricket left in him. With his experience, it is not exaggeration to say that SA has best fast bowling. The spin department will be led by Imran Tahir and everyone of us know how dangerous he is currently. So SA surely has World Cup winning bowling but do they have WC winning batting department? In short, NO! Du Plessis and David Miller, both are offtune is ongoing IPL so middle order will suffer much. Only de Kock is in form batsman for SA. SA may be one of the competent side but I am not seeing them as a winner with this team after the introduction of this new format.
I agree with your points(Specifically the batting part), but they could get back in form during the tournament itself and their experience will help in such a format. Du Plessis and Miller could be devastating on their day which is why they still have a great chance at lifting the cup.

Both of them are world class batsman no doubt but the problem is the format of World Cup this time. It isn't like old one where team has to play group matches and then knockouts. Now every team has to play with all other participants. In new format, it is hard for an off-form player because you have to be consistent in every game. Single or few good innings won't matter. Every team need at least 3-4 batsmen who could bat at the average of 45+ throughout the tournament.
New format? I didn't know about this to tell you the truth. Damn. This makes the tournament tougher when compared to how it was in the past.

However, I still feel that SA have a great chance at lifting the cup thanks to the fitness and experience aspects. Amla, Miller, Du plessis etc can get the job done since they have an awesome bowling lineup.

Their critics are right when they say that the Proteas are chokers. This has happened in almost all the major tournaments. Even after all these years, they haven't learned how to keep their cool under pressure situations. They are perhaps the best fielding side out there, and their batting and bowling would rank among the top 4. But despite all this, they lack the ability to win close matches. That's why I would rather favor a team like NZ to be in the semis instead of South Africa.
What you said is right but this time I will bet that SA will finish after NZ or in other words , SA will do better than NZ this world cup .

Kya Raja bhai. subah subah Cheesy

Don't scare us with this kind of news, its early morning here in my time zone Cheesy

This guy is fighter and I really don't want him to miss the world cup. I am sure he can be 100% fit with in 20 days.
