I am bored these days LOL
No ODI or T20. I see one T20 buts it's women t20 which is not much exciting.

Good thing that we have only less than 7 days for the world cup to start.

^Raina has been ignored by the team since 2015 and I felt IPL would make a change as not only his batting but his fielding is tremendous. Rayudu had a better chance as he has been pretty consistent but I feel Shankar was chosen based on his strike rate while getting run out twice this year hasn't been very impressive. Dhawan (reminds me of Sehwag) doesn't deserve the opening position as usually he is the first one losing his wicket compared to Rohit and hence he could fight for the 4th position like Raina and Rayudu. Virat deserves 2nd rather than 3rd.

Did India have to choose between Jadeja and Ashwin and they chose the former one? I am missing Ashwin and felt he would stand a chance but he is not playing. Also, Raina has been long forgotten even though he's a good batsman and better than Shikhar. Shikhar did not perform well in the Australian series too except for one match. I miss the 2011 team that had better players than this team.

Jadeja and Ashwin comparison is not logical due to various reasons if we are eyeing on World Cup Squad.

1. Ashwin competition is not Jadeja but Spin duo Kuldeep and Chahal.

2. Ashwin's shorter format career is already finished if we are talking about his place in the Indian team. In a Test match, he's still a big asset for India.

Same With Sikhar and Raina.

1. One is opening Batsman and other is Middle order batsman.

2. Agree Raina didn't perform badly per se but he didn't perform exceptionally well according to his ability. he was a mediocre performer when he was given chance in England tour. as far as I remember his 30-35 runs inning didn't help Indian team's cause.

3. His competition was with Ambati Raydu and we all know even Raydu didn't make into the team due to Vijay Shankar.

Well, Mohammad Amir's selection was well expected even before the England series, as Pakistan's bowling attack is vividly useless without him. However, the whole series (Eng vs. Pak) proved that the whole bowling line-up of Pakistani team is lacking experience as well (for example, not bowling the yorkers when they were extremely needed during the ODI series) and some change(s), along with inclusion of Mohammad Amir, were immediately required within the World Cup squad. IMHO, the PCB took the right decision by including these two in the squad, it was very much required.

However, apparently, Junaid Khan isn't very happy with the decision:

Yeah, I watched Ramij Raja's analysis on this. Amir selection make sense but Wahab Riaz looks odd selection to me ( he didn't played cricket since Champions trophy, we all know how he bowled in his last match against India) guess PCB making case for him due to his performance in PSL? ( His Yorker technique etc)

About Junaid : guess its Indian subcontinent thing Cheesy Raydu made some sarcastic comment as well but English Player David Willey didn't expressed his feelings in same manner.

^^^ So Archer was picked over David Willey?

This is not a good trend, I am afraid. Archer was born in Barbados and he played the domestic leagues there. He just moved to England so that he could get higher salaries. Now what will happen if the other promising West Indian players also follow him and move to England? The English are already destroying teams such as Ireland and Scotland by poaching on their best players. They are being captained by an Irish citizen. Why is it so hard for England to find native talent?
If I'm correct Stoke is from Newzealand, Tom Curran from South Africa and one more whom I can't remember, hehe. However, this Jofra Archer and those are different though. Moreover, there are a lot of examples of this kind.

Usman Khawaja got a serious injury which may lead him off world cup. I wish him get better soon.

Earlier they used to visit other countries and take over them and built an empire and torture the people and loot their money now they are cool enough to accept people from all over the world that has talent in one form or the other, it is a big change buddy in their approach  Cheesy Grin.
England had some good players in the past but cannot find 11 world class players even if we try to check their best all time eleven who could fit into any team in the world but now they have one of the best team around with so much talents coming in and the competition  is healthy.

Raja Bhai,  Pakistan's squad changed for World cup, is there any politics going around it or its just based on recent performance?

Update on Pakistan's World Cup Squad

Quote
Pakistan have sprung a surprise by bringing back pacers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz to the ODI fold for the World Cup as they announced their final 15-man squad on Monday (May 20). Both Amir and Wahab did not initially feature in the provisional squad. Apart from the two seamers, batsman Asif Ali has also been included on expected lines in order to provide firepower in the middle order. Abid Ali, Junaid Khan and Faheem Ashraf, who were named in the initial squad, will make way for the trio.

Well, nothing new tbh, Jofra is just another name in that long list. damaged already done and it's not going to stop anytime soon.

I don't mind player migrating in different countries but airdropping player out of the blue like this not good IMHO and it's very hard for local talent, last time I heard almost all English players were preparing for World Cup since last year and in the end poof.

More or less same thing happened with English Squad too but it was expected because big guns were supporting Jofra.

@Indy Bhai, you can now join Betting competition too, required rank is Member:)
Yes he can now. Other day I felt bad for him. I see him very regular in the cricket topics but I had to deny his interest because of the rank requirement. I am happy that he has the rank now.

@Indy: Feel free to join bud: https://www.superbru.com/cricketworldcup/pool.php?p=12031004

Best choice is we need to go here on official thread for cricket for all talks and need to lock all others as its not helping any one just creating problems for few members hopefully others also like this suggestion and try to avoid this confusion.

Yeah, I am trying to post World Cup related stuff only in this thread as well and avoiding Main thread as much as possible. Guess we can simply follow a couple of things.

1. Bilateral series discussion in the Main thread
2. 20-20 league (IPL, PSL, etc )discussion in their dedicated thread. (guess they are already locked now)
3. World Cup Discussion In this thread and betting lovers can follow World Cup Betting Thread too.

Let's wait for more suggestion from other users too.
I was getting confuse yesterday too.

~snip~
We can check in this Gambling Discussion section only one for English Premier League and same happening for Spanish and Italian but cricket is not like this so better keep all on just one and for competitions can create more like @hilariousandco in soccer and @Royse777 in Cricket.
Good suggestion.

By the way, I see you active in sports section and you are a regular here. So, I thought it's okay to send you 4 merits to make you a member rank. Somewhere I noticed theymos said if we think someone deserves to rank up then not to hesitate to send them merit. Your case felt the same for me.

Thanks for keeping this gambling and discussion section alive.

Suggestions and Inputs are welcome.

Right now there are 3-4 threads related to Cricket. I feel that its getting messy. don't know where should I continue discussion lol.

Tri-series discussion is going on 2 thread simultaneously (now series over), same with Eng vs Pak ( dedicated thread for this )

What can we do regarding this issue, any suggestion? so that we can carry on with our discussion in their respective dedicated thread. all Bilateral series are finished or about to finish. so we are safe for World Cup from now.

It looks like West Indies might win this one unless Bangladesh manage to score 39 in 24 balls which seems easy on paper, but difficult since they only have a couple of batsmen remaining. This would have been a piece of cake in an IPL match.
Game over!
Bangladesh won easily. It was Mosaddek Hossain who played a wonderful knock to have this win against WI. Congratulations Bangladesh.

Here is a very positive fact about Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan was not playing today who is their key player but without him they managed to get this win.
