I’ll admit I was worried at first that the Celtics were going to continue where they left off in the fourth quarter last game. Steph gave them the lead at the end of the quarter with a slick move to the basket. That gives me a little confidence that this is going to be a good game. The Celtics are still looking better than I’d expect though. Tatum especially is hitting some nice shots.

It's a much better game from the Warriors, but Celtics are going nowhere and would be in this ball game until the final buzzer, so the Warriors have really got to stay locked in, but what's quite worrying for the Warriors is that they're missing some really good shot, layups after layups are being squandered and Klay Thompson still can't find his rhythm and they don't want to miss these kinds of opportunities against Celtics because it might come back to hunt them.
Yes i totaly agree that missing these chances might prove fatal the celtics are realy tight today they did good in the first two quarters but the warriors seem to be back in control in the begining of this third quarter but they are still at risk thompson need tp step up his game.

It looks like another close game as the first half is over, and the Warriors lead the Celtics by just 2 points. By the way, Tatum really plays better this time, given that he has already scored 21 points. At the same time, I am surprised that Horford is not as active as he was in the first match. He hasn't even made a single shot yet, even though he's been playing for 16 minutes.

There are only fifteen minutes left for the second game of the series to begin. Warriors are favoured very highly by bookmakers and this isn't a big surprise. Maybe Celtics got an unexpected win by that comeback but Warriors are still the closer side to a win again in their home game. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson will have big responsibilities in this game but the game shouldn't depend on only their carrying the game too. I will be positive about a solid team performance.

Right, at the beginning they are like 1.55 ML to win. But at the start of the game, Celtics took a lead and this might dictate the tempo of the game. It's going to be close, unless the Warriors make another run in 2nd-3rd quarter.

But as what we have seen, no lead is safe specially in the finals. Just like what the Celtics did in game 1. Come from behind win, with their hot shooting night.

Less than 30 minutes before game 2 starts. It looks like we'll see another full squad except for Warrior's Andre Iguodala. I thought Robert Williams would be out too because of a sore left knee but he's been listed as available. Are your bets in? I hope you get back your losses in game 1 hehe.

Game 2 is tonight and I'm excited about it. Celtics surprised many of us after that huge performance especially in the final quarter. On the other hand I don't expect them to win this game too. I think that Warriors are going to be well-prepared for a big threat this time and they will find a way to destroy that defense. If they manage to open the gap too much earlier then they would be more comfortable to win this game. I know that they lost their twelve-point advantage in Game 1 but I wouldn't expect it to repeat itself.
Me too, maybe within 2 hours and it's already started.

It's gonna be the balancer of this series for you? Well, I don't know but whatever is the outcome of this game 2, I'm happy and just wants to see a good ending for this.

Maybe, I'd still count them for this 2nd game. And for the Warriors, this is like a game that they should win to recover from the loss they've made on the first game. Still first and second game but this always create an impact.

Yes, and I'm also totally excited and anxious to this game!
I never imagined the Celtics could win the Warriors' in first game inside the Chase Center

If the Celtics win again today (I think it's hard), I have no doubt the TD Garden "will burn" in Game 3 and Game 4 of these NBA Finals!!  Grin Tongue Roll Eyes

Another game for these two teams and another expectations from the fans.

Warriors need to win this and continue their chase to win another NBA title, if they will lose it again inside the chase center
it will be a very big advantage for Boston.

Many will bet for the home team for sure, just like in game 1, they will still get bookies' heavy favorite. ML now is @ 1.50
for the warriors.

3 points win games, defense win championships.

We saw that fact again in Game 1.

Defend better, get the trophy.

Less likely to happen into that clutch shooting game on 4th quarter on where if you do see those 3 point attempts are almost successful which did really close up the game completely.
They have a good catching up on lessening out the gap for Celtics which they havent give up despite of huge point lead on earlier quarters until they do explode out on 4th
but i dont believe that they would really be having the same performance on game 2 but lets see if they would completely able to do that or that just some luck related

I believe that Tatum could definitely have a great game, but this time around they will focus on other players as well, hence why Celtics as a whole may not be great like that. Doesn't mean that they will suck, just means that the job for Celtics will be harder for sure.

I am guessing that the best thing we could do right now would be to just wait and see. I am going to wager martingale style on Warriors throughout the series, hoping that Warriors would win at least game 6, if not game 7, or even win it all in 5 games of course but that may not happen. That way I would not be in much loss, and would have a good win amount, just one loss is fine, sweep means disaster for me.

It's too early to tell but he has shown some signs of being a great player in the next coming years.

The outcome of the NBA Finals will dictate his future.
He is undoubtedly the best player on the team, in fact, if we look at the favorites now to win the Finals MVP, it's Tatum and Curry who are the favorites.

And yes, it's still too early to tell but Tatum has been improving, and now they are in the lead in the NBA Finals.

It's still a long way before we will know who will be the Finals MVP this season, as of now, Al Horford is seating on the top to get that award and was followed by Stephen Curry while Jayson Tatum was ranked 4th.

Speaking of Jayson Tatum, he will bounce back just like what he did on the previous games, he may didn't excel in the shooting last game but he did focus his time in the court by helping his team in terms of assists. The Warriors better watch out because the Boston Celtics is indeed good when it comes to adjusting.

Noticed that too from Tatum, he didn't force himself to score but made a wiser decisions,

13 assist really help them in winning the game, while it's more on Harford's heroic offense but the team that didn't give up
snatch a game from the home team.

On the one hand, 13 assists is a good result, but on the other hand, Tatum's performance in the first match of the final series was terrible. It looks like the Warriors figured out a way to defend against him well, given that he was only able to score 3 out of 17 shots. In addition, Tatum did almost nothing during the 4th quarter while his teammates were making that incredible comeback.
I actually look for Tatum to have a good game 2. https://www.foxsports.com/nba/jayson-tatum-player-game-log?season=2021&seasonType=post Here is a log of all his stats in this years post season and if you notice, everytime he had a shit game scoring under 20 points, he scored 30+ the next game. He hasn't had 2 back to back games under 20 points. His 13 assists is the most he has had throughout the whole post season as well. I don't see him getting that many in game 2.
I noticed that too but I forgot to have a quick peek if that was just a coincidence or a history. Thanks for the link! Turns out that Tatum has been doing good and bouncing back after contributing less than 20 in a game. If that's the case then the Warriors should make a positive impression in Game 2 and adjust because they seriously lacked consistency, they think that the Celtics are already exhausted so they slack for a bit and the next thing they know they haven't scored for several minutes in that quarter. Al Horford had the spotlight in the 1st game and there's a high chance that it'll be Tatum who will be unstoppable next game.

Yeah, it's just one of those game that really everyone was caught by surprised by how the Celtics team win the game. Tatum didn't score that much just 12 points, but in the assists department is where he excel with that huge 13 assists. Maybe this he is really coming of age with this kind of performance that will separate him from the new breed of superstars and there are basketball analyst that even compare him to the young Kobe Bryant. I bet Horford won't be able to do that again, the defense will also be focused on him in game 2 and at the same time, they will still continue to do a great job on Tatum. Well, on some games in the past series, Tatum had a bad 1 game but also bounce back in the 2nd game, so game 2 is very unpredictable, what I only believe is that the Warriors will try to come back.
Yes, he might not repeat that again but this is where we can tell how good of a team they are by adjusting. We know how experienced the Warriors are, they certainly know what they will do next but I want to witness what the Celtics can do in times the Warriors use their broad experience against them.
People, including me, thought Warriors were just much more experienced and Celtics are coming to finals when they are much more tired. But that amazing fourth quarter proved almost everyone wrong. What an amazing period of basketball Celtics had. They stopped Warriors and even without their biggest star on paper(Tatum didn't contribute so much) they had the 40 points fourth quarter on the NBA finals and in away game. How legendary was that. Celtics seriously spiced up the NBA for me in this playoffs. Huge respect.
I thought so too.
7 players in the Celtics roster have double digits in play time while the Warriors have 8 players who contributed to the game. No foul trouble, the game was clean and they all played through. Steve Kerr should list that as one more strategy for the game. Put the Celtics' first team in foul trouble.
