The game is very much closer, GSW takes a good lead but Boston keeps fighting back and even the score 47-47. But plenty of games ahead of us, it's not the close of the 1st half.

But we can see the Boston is trying to keep up. Steph though is having a good shooting night. But let's see how Boston is going to response in the last 24 minutes and if they will steal one game at Chase.

The Celtics lead by only 2 points after the end of the first half of Game 1, and it looks like the game could be very tight in the second half. At the same time,  it's obvious that the Celtics may have problems, given that they can't handle Stephen Curry at all. He's showing a great performance with 21 points, including 6 three-pointers in the first quarter.
Jaylen Brown and Marcus smart is leading the Boston for there first half rally while Tatus is not yet showing a sign for an explosive performance. I feel like he is reserving his strength on the second half since he let the 2 players create score for the first half. The only problem that I can see on Boston is there fatigue issue because they are going all in on first half while GSW has a lot of good reserve players to make a rally once there starter is resting.

Andrew Wiggins has done a really good job on Tatum so far, and Tatum haven't been aggressive offensively too, he's been doing more of the play making and ended with 7 assist halftime, but to stand a chance against this elite Warriors team, Celtics would need to have Tatum doing more than just the assists.

Just like the Eastern Conference Finals series, I hope this one will continue up to game 7 as well. This is the match we should be watching in the NBA finals you cannot ask for more than this one because it is the return of the Warriors to the NBA finals along with the return of Thompson to the team.

Game 7 might not likely happen "based" on what everyone is thinking. I honestly, don't even think the same but who knows after all.

But as usual, analysis prior to Game 1 is based on past performance and team status. Eventually, if the Celtics will able to pull some win on other games, those analysis and speculations will be changed while the Finals is progressing.

Let's see what will happen with tonight's result. I'm expecting a Warriors dominance in Game 1 but it doesn't mean the Celtics will not be able to bounce back in the later games.

Looney is big this season, especially against the Mavs. He is now a legit two-way player who can provide good numbers.
I don't see that the center or inside position is considered as a disadvantage of the Warriors. They've got role players who can help inside,
Green is always taking that responsibility and with his presence to help and double whoever tries to attack, it is still hard beating them
plus the offense as a good counter from all their shooters, it's really an exciting series to watch between these two teams.

If they can easily win against Boston then they will gonna be in the finals in the next years to come because they are dominating the league with their current roosters. The chemistry and the way they played this season are great and they also managed to level up their role players.
Possible but wont be an assurance that they could win the next years championship but if there were no teams not able to isolate them or make counter plays on how they do play as of today then outcome or
results would really be still the same on the next year.Yes, they are indeed dominating this current season with having those core or original roster member then they are really that unstoppable.
They are really way ahead in terms of 3 point shooting which is really hard to be stopped once they are on the position. This team is really good in both offense and defense.

Do Boston head coach be willing to sacrifice Tatum and Brown to guard both Thompson and Curry?

Depends on the situation. They will always know what best to do once they faced each other later on. For now, it's reasonable to think that Jayson Tatum might take the position of guarding Curry since he is already used to guarding a quick playmaker scorer like how he shut down Kyrie Irving in the first round.

Sometimes he even guards Kevin Durant and Giannis of the Milwaukee Bucks.

We will see later on what kind of man-to-man defense will the Celtics do against the Warriors. Just over an hour now before the game starts.

Wiggins maybe assigned to defend Jaylen Brown and Draymond Green's mission is to stop Boston's leading super star Jayson Tatum. It is unfortunate that Boston is facing a very experienced team in the finals. But everything is set. Boston should show that they are also good defensively and they can shut down Warriors' scorers. And that they also have enough fire power to combat Warrior's shooting.
They will be left with nothing below the paint if that happens. Looney may not be able to handle Horford and Grant Williams to take the rebound. If Draymond will defend guards then the paint will be left wide open for an attack or an offensive rebound.
They still have Klay Thompson and I am sure as hell he could defend Jaylen Brown. That will not be a hard task for him, they may also be a good match.
The fast switch will be the troublesome feat but GSW is used to it sugarcoating their weak side which is Steph but are the Celtics prepared if it will be the Warriors doing the same strategy. I wish they are.
I believe that when you look at it as "small ball 5" that will not be the case. Like imagine Curry- Poole - Wiggins - Klay - Draymond five on the court at the same time, obvious that Klay can't play the PF position, nor any other of the four there, Draymond can play C but there is no PF there, hence it will not be a common thing, but at times they can test that out when celtics have their own small ball line up.

Aside from that Looney will be 5, and Draymond will be 4, and that's it, they will defend their own positiosn, maybe with some switching but that's it, they have done it before and they can do it again, they even got outrebounded but still managed to make it work.

Guys, what's your opinion about these NBA finals!!!?

I've been thinking seriously... do you believe the Celtics can beat the Warriors!!? Maybe something similar to the Cavs comeback from the 2016 Finals?
I think it will be the Warriors that are going to win the NBA finals. And I don't see the Celtics pulling out a Cavs comeback, but the game will be very tough, There will be no 2 point cushion here, the score could be 1-1 and then 2-2 and then 3-3. So I reckon another game 7 wouldn't hurt and for sure we want this kind of game. But in the  end I'm seeing the Warriors capping up this year with a NBA trophy and Curry getting his 1st Finals MVP.

Indeed! What you've said was not really far from reality, in-fact when we speak of chances and odds, the Golden State Warriors surely have those in their favor, and not just that, they also have the advantage in terms of experience in the playoffs. The Boston Celtics seem fit to do the job against the Warriors but I seriously think that they're not enough to beat the whole roster. They will win from game to game in the series of course but it is still the Warriors who will claim the championship.

I believe Game 1 and Game 7 will be in their possession.

But it might be different here as they have a great center as well in Horford and Williams. But it doesn't matter as the Warriors will surely adjust again.
Warriors also have a great center, Looney is just so underrated but this guy had some pretty double double in the last series or the WCF. They are a team that are good in making the adjustment, so I don't think they'll have some trouble with the defense of the Celtics or even on their advantage in the center position.

Yeah Looney is strong if he keeps a cool minded head. He was early exit in there games with Grizzlies due to his foul trouble a lot of error. Sometimes he is not giving a great performance that same with what he show us on the last match against Mavs.

Boston has good center too like Al Horford and Theis which is a good match up against warriors. I think Boston can overwhelm warriors if they can use there big man properly.

They also have Williams who are a great shot defender, however, as a team, the Warriors have more weapons compared to the Celtics. I am not saying that the Warriors will have an easy job in the NBA Finals, but I believe they will win in the series.

Can't wait, this game will start tomorrow at 9:00 AM in the morning, so I will not miss the chance to put my bet.

Williams is actually a big factor for the defense of the Celtics, he was the one who limit Bam and he is not so tired because he focus on the defense and he is not getting most of the minutes since they have Al Horford as another big man who can defende well and at the same time who can shoot as well.

As per the initial odds the Warriors are the favorite to win against the Celtics.

they seemed better at the moment, and a bit fresher certainly
but I do not want to underestimate Celtics at all

it will all depend on first matches, if some team reach 3:1, it would probably mean the end for the series without turnaround
Thompson should be back into squad, and that could also mean more chances to Warriors

Yes, I don't think that anyone is underestimating Celtics, it's that for those bettors, the Warriors are the better team. And I would say that the Warriors improvement as a defensive team is not yet appreciated because of the obvious firepower they have in Klay and Steph. But now they developed into a 2 way player, specially Steph, and then Wiggins also a lock in guy, most likely to guard Tatum. And then Looney and Green in the middle. Otto Porter though, another player that can score and play defense. But if I'm not mistaken, he might be on game to game basis. Payton was injured as we all know, one of the best defensive guard we have with his quick hands. I think this team is more complete as compare to the years when they dominated the league.

The improvement that both Looney and Wiggins are also interesting and impacting in this upcoming NBA finals.

Both players are actively contributing, Wiggins is now a good stopper and a Looney who keeps moving inside and waiting

for trash to convert into a score, they both adjusted and makes their presence being count. The entire Warriors improve,

though they will continue to lean with their version of a big three Green, Thompson and Curry, but we all see how coach

Kerr rotates his roster and most of the time everyone blends as one.

That was really impressive, everyone contributed when they are on the floor and I really like their chances against the Celtics since they are not limited as a team. They can play small and they can also use their big center, but they are more focused on the small ball rotation because they are effective with such a strategy.

Imagine 3 shooters on the floor playing together, how can the Celtics stop that?
They might be able to stop one but the two will keep shooting.

Right, that why the Warriors is still a very good team despite one of those 3 shooter have a bad night as the other 2 an cover. And then they can play depending on their opponents and take advantage of it. Just like in the series against the Mavs, Looney was big because no one from the Mavs can guard him. But it might be different here as they have a great center as well in Horford and Williams. But it doesn't matter as the Warriors will surely adjust again.

^ Yes, the bench of the Warriors is the best in the league and everyone knows their role and plays as they go along. So even if Steph an Klay is on the floor, Steve Kerr can call the same play with different personalities like Poole to lead the offense. They also have a good defensive specialist in Green and Looney is improving in every game and dominating. It might be a different story against the Celtics though as he will be challenge in the inside, but it will be a good match up, Williams vs Looney, or Horford vs Green.

And Smart against Wiggins. Do Boston head coach be willing to sacrifice Tatum and Brown to guard both Thompson and Curry?

A good match up between those known names that will surely stand up in these NBA finals,
both teams will lean with how the coach will guide them during the game, the alignment of players
that will play inside will dictate the tempo of this match, explosive team against another explosive
line up. It will be depend now on who's more hungry to win the title.

Curry and Thompson will not be limited because they move even without the ball, and the Warriors are good at that, they will always find an open man. I don't think Smart will guard Wiggins, it's probably Wiggins that will guard Tatum because they have a good match up.

That may be the biggest problem for the Celtics if they won't have any bench to support them if ever worst things happen like exhaustion and injuries.
The Warriors' bench is deep with Kuminga, Moody, and Poole who are always ready to play the game.
In fact, I even saw in the face of Kuminga that he is a bit disappointed if he is not given minutes while the game is hot during the Mavs series.
That means a lot, he badly wants some game time, to help out or just show his skills to everyone. I bet he is always persuading Coach Kerr to let him in.

Yeah, I appreciate that and they really are there to sub if they're in need. They know what their purposes and they're not just bench warmers but also once inside and Kerr gives them a task and their time, they're doing all that they can.
Compared to the roster of Celtics, there would really be a different story and we're all excited to see what it will be like for their first match.
