I also didn't understand how Rondo, with his experience, didn't get the exposure he needed specially in the 4th quarter.

But the Hawks can't really be denied in this season, they struggled early and just try to keep phase and was able to get into the play-in. This team was really carried by Trae Young with good supporting role players. But they good their hands full against the Heat in the first round.

Even Kevin Love was only given 10 minutes while Rondo had only 15 minutes in the entire game, I don't know what their coach is thinking because Rondo could've help the team along the way.

However, the Hawks is really creeping behind them every quarter and in the 4th quarter that's the time they overtake and lead the game. Trae Young contributed 38 points, 6 of that points was on the 1st half while the remaining 32 points was in the 2nd half. I wanna see Trae Young to have a duo in the next season.

Love and Rondo can help, especially in the last quarter. They are both fresh since they only got some minutes of playing.

Not sure about that decision and surely the fans are also asking the same question, knowing how Rondo can facilitate
and how Love can help both offense and defense.

They are done now, and its Hawks will move to the playoffs facing the well-rested number 1 seed Miami. Another
tough much for Atlanta, Bulls are full equipped and have a good system to play.

As a knick fan I hate to say this but I'm going with the Hawks.  Trae is something else in these type of games.  Even though it's on the road.  X factor here is capella.  Mark, Mobley or love won't be able to muscle him.  If cavs had Allen completely different game but they don't.  Hoping for the cavs too cause I can't stand watching trae..
Sad to hear about what happened to Capela and yet the Hawks managed a win despite losing one of their core player. Trae is too much for them and I even thought Garland could cage him because of their identical speed but I guess the big difference was the skill and the experience.

Now what for the Hawks? A big man may not be able to play (no recent reports yet about the hyper extended knee) and I am sure the Heat will take advantage of that. They have Hunter and Okungwu left as their big men, I wish they could fill the shoes left by Capela.
Their other hope is John Collins. (injured finger, foot)

Trae Young won the game, scoring almost 40 points on his own, and with scoring support from Bogdanovic and Gallinari, the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Cleveland Caveliars 107 to 101. Cleveland doesn't have much of a chance. Markkanen scored 26 points and Garland 21. The game was very close to each other, but the Hawks took the lead in the final period and that's how the game ended Cheesy

Last quarter decide the game and Hawks bring everything to win, great game coming from Young and how the support core

help him to win this one and take the last spot for the playoff. Cavs, on the other hand, also do everything and keep in the game

but the young core is exhausted and I'm not sure why both Rondo and Love only have short minutes. They are experienced players

and giving them that time inside will allow them to help. Coach decision he might see something but all in all, it's a great competition

between the two.

The Cavaliers started strong and fresh but later on the Hawks is slowly chasing them every quarter while trying to conserve their stamina, that's why in the 4th quarter they managed to snatch the lead make the game into their favor and didn't let the Cavaliers to overtake them. Even Trae Young missed a few important shots but his teammates always got him, and for the Cavs, I cannot answer because I'm also confused why Rondo and Love was only given few minutes.

Boston Vs. Brooklyn in East.
Do you think it's wise to take the Nets to win the series against the Boston?
They are now 2.09 at my bookie.

It is, If you didn't notice, Kyrie has been very efficient with his game nowadays.
A healthy Nets would destroy the Celtics and won't reach game 7.
However, nothing is guaranteed though, no matter how strong a team on the paper. Team work and team chemistry wins the game.
But you should take the Nets to win the series though lol.
Whoever is the better team when it comes to defense will win the series and I think that's the Celtics. It's quite easy to pick the Nets because of the two superstars KD and Kyrie but I don't think the Celtics are that far behind.

Defense wins game,  that's what everyone was saying before the GSW took over the league. Yes, still up until now defense wins game, but not "always".
How about Brad Stevens said https://nbamath.com/the-nbas-new-mantra-good-offense-beats-good-defense/ in 2017 who happens to be the head coach of Boston Celtics.
Good Offense  beats good defense.
And also, I still remember a coach who was in the finals once said " our great offense is our defense". Not sure whether it was Steve Kerr from GSW or coach Spo from Miami before.

I tried to google it and tried to find out why Cavs just played with 8 players of their roster last night. What could be the reason of Love playing that few minutes and Cedi Osman didn't played at all? Cedi and Love contributed quite a lot throughout the season. When it is their most important game of the year, I would expect at least as the second five they would have played. Ok I see that Love's contract is huge and I guess his contract is causing some issues for the salaries, but it is literally the elimination game for the playoffs, how could he played so few minutes? On the other hand, Trae Young played seriously good. I think he is something else in the playoff(although he played great in the normal season too). Of course, his performance alone would not suffice for championship level performance.

I dislike betting on these play in tournament type of games, they are just way too close for my taste, and close teams at lower levels are not my forte. I can wager on NBA finals easily, even though teams are close there as well usually, at least that is closeness based on both being good, here we are talking about teams that are barely playoff worthy.

This is why I have to just focus on waiting for the playoffs, when that starts I will be able to wager easier. First round is even easier, like first seed playing against the 8th seed (or even worse in this case) this means it could be very easy and could be very profitable for anyone who wagers on those games.
This is not exactly a tip but following injury updates on each team should be helpful before placing a bet. There's still a chance the game would go against what you expect but the chances of winning is higher if you've done your "homework".

Take the Clippers for example. They were an easy pick but it all changed when PG tested positive for COVID and won't play.

I can’t believe the bad luck for the Clippers. The injuries were bad enough this year, but they finally get a chance for a play-in spot and get PG back then this covid nonsense. I can’t wait to hear what Paul George has to say about this. Having his season cut short because some test gave him an unwanted result. I for some reason thought this covid stuff was behind us but it’s still effecting society in these crazy ways. I guess we won’t be seeing Kawhi Leonard this year after all. Maybe next year…

Unfortunately, after all they've gone through just to be in the play-in tournament and PG have just came back with them but now the chance is already there but sadly PG was tested positive about this Covid-19. The score is so tight against the NOP and I don't doubt that if ever PG was there they could have won the game and they will face the Suns on the 1st round.

We cannot really control every outcome because there can be times that fate is not for them, Kawhi Leonard will continue to take some rest and we will see them again in the next season.

The Pelicans fills the last spot for the Western Conference playoffs. I thought the Clippers had the momentum going into the fourth quarter after a huge third quarter but too bad they could not sustain it (if only PG was allowed to play). Regardless of the team you bet on, I think the game had everything with both teams competing up to the last second.

Funny how identical the scores are for Hawks vs. Cavs and Pelicans vs. Clippers.

They’re saying that being held out of the most important game of the year because of covid restrictions is classic “pandemic P” behavior. Jokes aside, I can’t believe that games like this are being decided by the flu. Worse than the refs deciding it to be honest. Before long they’ll probably be wiping all evidence of Jordan’s flu game in the name of public health. I’m shocked at what’s still happening. I can’t wait for the government to move onto something else so society can stop being afraid of something that’s always been a part of our lives.

^^ Yes, I do agree that he is an underrated defender because he is focused on his outside shooting, but this year he tends to lean more on his defensive skills that's why he become a complete players that he has this season.
You are referring to who? sorry I don't follow mate.

Trae will have to come up big every night just like he did against the Cavs if they want to overcome the number 1 seed in the East and somewhat pull an upset.

He alone cannot carry his team, there are many ways to limit Trae as he is not as good as Curry, and the Miami Heat can certainly assign players that will minimize him. Not totally stop him as it's impossible, but if his production (points and assists) will drop, that would give the heat a huge advantage to win.

Seen last game against the Cavaliers, Trae orchestrated the success with his points and assists, so imagine if he gets limited.

Two amazing games.  Shocked A lot of players stepped up their game to gain the win.
Pelicans first, Larry Nance Jr. dominating the paint in offensive rebounds. With the Clippers playing small ball there's no one to stop him. 14 and 16 for Nance. Then the rookie, 17th pick, Trey Murphy III,  made crucial 3-pointers. 4/6.

In the East, the Hawks may have won it with Trae Young's 32 points in the 2nd half but now they have a big problem with Capela injured. Hunter will be their rim defender as they play against the Miami Heat on Monday.

It will be hard to fill the gap that Capela will left at the Hawks center position because of his injury. A very difficult task at hand for the short handed Hawks against a complete line up of the Heat. We have Bam that they have to contain in the middle and then of course the ever reliable Butler as their leader. As much as I love the Hawks, but I'm not seeing them advancing in the next playoff round here.
Aside from Hunter, they still have Okungwu who played decent the whole regular season. He plays well if he is given minutes in the court and a good inside defender as well though I don't think that he can match-up against Bam but who knows Smiley. Hoping for Capela to recover fast so he can help his team.

Still commend to Trae Young on how he played in the 2nd half. From only 6 points in the first half to 36 points to end the game. A complete Heat roster seems undefeated but I still think that this Heat-Hawks series will be a close series and I will go with Heat in 6 games.

Same here, Heat has veterans and they are an experienced team. I don't see anyone from the Hawks roster that could stop Butler, maybe unless they'll double him but that would make other shooters to be open which would result to an easy win by the Heat. I don't want to underestimate the Hawks but they are facing a championship team.

And we also have the second in command, Kyle Lowry another veteran and savvy point guard. Of course Trae Young has the speed and youth on his side and could easily penetrate and get past them. But he has to face Bam or Dedmon in the middle or maybe Herro to guard him and Tyler is also dangerous outside so as Duncan Robinson. Add P.J. Tucker for defense and 3 in the corner. Very hard for the Hawks to overcome the a complete and healthy Heat.

Exactly, he is also a great defensive player which could give Young a hard time. Herro is still an underrated player, he can focus on scoring so the offense of the heat will be more unpredictable. Lots of defensive players from the Heat actually, and most of them have a good experience in the playoffs.

Heat is healthy this playoffs compared to the last playoffs appearance, however, if they have a chemistry problem, that might affect their chances because pretty well that the Hawks are playing in the same page as what we have witnessed on the game against the Cavaliers.

In terms of defense, Heat still has the edge, I don't even see anyone who could stop Bam without Capela.

We have to wait for the MRI result first.

Clint Capela injury update: Hawks center to undergo MRI on knee after collision with Evan Mobley, per report

Quote
The final Eastern Conference play-in game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks took an unfortunate turn late in the first half when Clint Capela had to be helped off the floor after a dangerous foul and collision with Evan Mobley. Capela will not return to the game due to a hyperextended knee, the Hawks later announced. Capela will reportedly undergo an MRI on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

IMO, it was really Larry Nance Jr. who made the difference in that game. If it wasn't for his hard work, the Pelicans would not be able to come back.
hopefully they'll evaluate their mistake as their best players (CJ and Ingram) can be limited when a pressure defense is put on them.

This guy is underrated, whoever plays will him can really do the job because Trae Young is unstoppable, once he is heating up, he will continue the cooking until the end of the game.
