Nets almost won this one but when Kevin Durant shot 9 of 24, they will probably never win a game in playoffs. Even though he had 23 points. But Kyrie stepped up big time with 39 points. He was also fasting again because of Ramadan? That is just crazy. He shot 12 out of 20 FG and 6 out of 10 3Ps. And played 42 minutes. He is really a different kind of superstar. I don't think anyone can NOT respect him. But Celtics were just better at the end. And especially in the paint. I felt like there is huge difference between these teams in the paint. And Celtics scored 56, Nets 32. While they lost the dominance in the paint, Nets had much better shooting percentages than Celtics. This turns out one of the most intriguing series for me. So hard to choose a bet for who win the series.

It was really a surprise that they upset the home team in game 1, but regardless, it's still one game and no one could win a series with one game win only. That win is good as it only tells that the Timberwolves are a good playoff team and they can give a good challenge to the Grizzlies.

The Timberwolves are now complete with K. Towns and Edwards is playing really well with Patrick Beverly of course, Memphis will face some hardship to win this series and tomorrow should be their best game ever because they cannot afford to lose one more game on their home court because when they go to Minnesota, they will be surprised about the enthusiastic fans that will gonna ruin their mood. NBA fans are right, Wolves are a bad match for the Grizzlies.

Patrick Beverley is giving Ja the hard time. He's like a small version of Dennis Rodman way back in the 80s, I mean the Piston era.

Whoever stars that will be assigned to him will really need to step up and gas a full tank to avoid that sticky defense of Beverly. While on the Wolves

offense, the trio of KAT, D'Russ and Edwards is a pain in the ass, Memphis needs to adjust this coming game 2 else, they'll going to have a big

problem in both offense and defense against these young core of Minnesota,.
I don't know how but Pat Bev is an annoying and psychology expert in the field of defense and they should know you wouldn't get onto his game. I remind him of what Lance Stephenson was doing way back on the Indiana Pacers when they face Miami or other teams during the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Not having too many injures matters just because of this reason. I mean we had fun watching Celtics vs Nets I am sure but we had no missing stars on Nets, they do not have Harden anymore unfortunately but they had both Irving and Durant, same goes for Celtics who had both Tatum and Brown, on top of that some other players that they really needed. So all in all I have to say that the games will be great as long as we keep this up. However, if we keep seeing some smaller injuries that makes people miss games, that will be the trouble. The only reason why I disliked the last 2 seasons playoffs were the fact that many teams had injuries and that made the "least injured good team" champions.

That's what makes every game unpredictable as injuries is inevitable, the chance to get injured is always there even if they were just training. And there's this Covid-19 thing that would make the team struggle more just like the Clippers recently who somehow got a chance to have the playoff seat but suddenly PG turned out to be positive after he was tested.

So, of course having a healthy team with no injuries especially their superstars is a team that have the highest chance to win the championship. Though, I somehow disagree that it's unfortunate that Harden is not on the Nets side anymore because the team's offensive power is still great even if Harden isn't there with team as KD and Irving could handle the team with the additional of Seth and Drummond on the team, we already learn that too much alpha on the team isn't great and that will end up as a disaster.

They did cover the spread if I'm not mistaken, 11 point win and the initial handicap for them is -10.5.
Yeah. They were cruising in the first half and I got a bit worried when the Pelicans started to mount a comeback.

~
Watching the game, I said to my self that this is too easy for the Suns, I smell a swept here.
Yeah a likely sweep unless both CP3 and Booker suffers an unfortunate injury.

~
The only problem that I see right now with the Suns is the health of CP3. We know that in the crucial moments of the game, he often gets injured that will affect the morale and the performance of his team.
I think the Suns team is already at a point where they can confidently play even without CP3. They've won many games without him during the regular season (11-6).

The playoffs have just started and we've already had some interesting games
I was impressed with the Grizzlies defeat against Timberwolves, I didn't imagine this could happen.

As we can see, I believe we will have some competitive and interesting games in these playoff games.

Standing on regular season is just a number when it comes to playoffs because you are playing against different teams on regular season which doesn’t give other team to adjust. In playoffs, both team especially the team with low standing already carefully study the opponents gameplay base on there previous matches. Timverwolves is very strong during play-in tournament and considering they still have the momentum, I’m not surprised that they defeat Grizzlies on there first match for the playoffs. Let’s see if they can close the series.

Under four minutes remaining in the Suns vs. Pelicans game but I'm calling it now as a win for the Suns. I'm just waiting if they win by double digits for my bet Grin

CP3 was just too good for them from scoring, assisting, and then stealing. I hope he gets a triple double (1 assist short at the moment). Add to that the support of Booker and the rest of the team. edit: he got his 10th assist.

They did cover the spread if I'm not mistaken, 11 point win and the initial handicap for them is -10.5.

CP3 though, is the X factor in this game 1, when the Pelicans are making a comeback at the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th, he hits back to back 3's, has an assist, steal and had some intelligent play that caught his defender off-guard. That's what CP3 can bring to this team, experience and basketball IQ.
It was a great game for Chris Paul when he took control in the fourth quarter scoring 16 of the Suns 21 and went on to dominate in the paint.
If he hit that last shot of the match I would of cashed some good bets as I had the -12.5 on mine.
Phoenix were up double digits the majority of the game and Booker who had most of his points in the first half wasn't really needed and was on the bench most of the time.
Pelicans have to figure out a way to solve whatever issues they might have, because to be honest they looked quite weak compared to the Suns even without their star player in the last frame of the match.

Sun's role players are good enough to match with the Pelicans, sorry to say, but that's also what I have noticed here.

Putting all the stars of Suns inside and with CP3 dictating the game, Pelicans will be having more hard time
in competing with the solid defense and offense of the Suns.

Let see what adjustments Pelicans will try to do to tie this series, though it's not that bad as they, really
trying to work it out but Suns are too heavy for them.

The defense of the Suns made them win the game and seems like the Pelicans has no strategy to stop CP3 because I don't see them double-teaming CP3. Watching the game, I said to my self that this is too easy for the Suns, I smell a swept here.
Double teaming Paul would be an easy shot for the one who will be free.
That is how lethal CP3 is when handling the ball. If he drives, he can shoot the perimeter which is almost automatic that even a big can't stop him. Now if they double him, he can see easily which player will be free and he will pass it to him. Its like pick your poison for the opponents. He will not be called "Point God" for no reason. Smiley

Suns in 5 or even 4. I think the Pelicans doesn't have enough firepower and strategy to defeat the red-hot Suns. The only problem that I see right now with the Suns is the health of CP3. We know that in the crucial moments of the game, he often gets injured that will affect the morale and the performance of his team. If he will be healthy all throughout this playoffs, I think they can win it all and get the championship this year.

I was totally delighted with the first game of the Boston Celtics - Brooklyn Nets series. Thanks to a last second point for Celtics, they managed to win this game by only a one-point difference, 115-114. I admired the performance of each team here and they equally deserved a victory undoubtedly. And there was like a scoring duel between Jayson Tatum and Kyrie Irving here as well. Irving was the winner of this duel as he got 39 points and Tatum got 31. Celtics lead the series by 1-0 but I feel a great competition in this matchup already now. The side to advance to next stage would win this series by 4-3 I think.
Yeah, that was a great game. A feeling like a Game 7 but it was just Game 1. Looking forward to witnessing more of this kind. Oh, and that was some move by Tatum too, a quick spin move that totally surprised Kyrie Irving who was unable to react.

He was smoking in that last quarter. He knew there is something wrong with his teammates because they cannot make anything offensively and he stepped up. This is the CP3 we knew that made the Suns enter the championship and here he goes again. Pelicans tried different players to defend him but none was able to do so. Great win for the Suns.

Kyrie played well even though he got many boo's from the crowd, Durant had a bad night shooting only 9/24 from the field and that turnaround buzzer beater by Tatum that gave them the victory. This series might end up in 7 games but still its hard to predict who will be the winner.

With Durant having a bad shooting tonight, I think that the Nets can win in this series and make an upset (not total upset though). If Kyrie played the same all throughout the series and Durant will be better in the future games, I think they can overcome the Celtics since this Game 1 is a very close game (even though the Celtics lead as high as 15). If only they stopped that last possession, the Nets might've won it but.. it is what it is. Nets will make an adjustment but for sure they know that they can beat the Celtics.

It will be very difficult though, as you can see, both of them should have a very super game in order to win. No doubt that Kyrie is superb tonight, but Durant's performance is subpar as per his standard. So it really boils down as to how both of them are going to play. They need to have 4 games to at least score 30+ points together to have a good chance to win this series.

I really liked to watch Brooklyn Nets also in this game. Their performance was quite enough to win this game but they couldn't make it. It was a close call by 115-114. But this is already a good sign for the team hopefully. I really would like to see Nets competing so hard against Celtics and even eliminate them by this series. Maybe it is going to be really tough but it isn't impossible at all. We can have a series with 7 games in total maybe but I hope the winner becomes Nets.
