Memphis looked worse than I expected. I mean they are the second seed in the west, which is a HUGE thing, they had a 56 win season and the west is not that bad either and they are second there and ended up losing to the team that played in the play-in tournament. Maybe they will win the next 4 games and we will forget all about this, but my expectation was a sweep, so compared to that getting scored 130 points and losing the first game was a bit different feeling. The warriors were like I expected there was no shock there at all, Sixers also played as I expected too and actually they were the most entertaining team to watch as well, Mavs vs Jazz was the only boring game that I couldn't really bare to watch the game, so I stopped, then opened the highlights so I would at least see that, and even that was too boring Cheesy

What happened to Nuggets ? it seems they cannot keep the pace with GSW and most likely they GSW will win in a series of 5.

They are on the road against a good team, although Nuggets is good as well, but the GSW has a complete lineup, with Curry (back in action), Klay and then the other splash brothers, Jordan Poole. And GSW played defense on Jokic, Green played him very well and making it hard for him to score under the basket. Just a bad game for the Nuggets, but for sure they will adjust on the next game.

There's no way the Nuggets will win a game against the Warriors, too much talent for the Warriors that the Nuggets could not defend. 4 shooters on the floor, my gosh, how can they contend that? Now is the only playoffs that they cannot double Curry because Poole and Thompson will be open, and look how they tire the Joker.

Great game for Timberwolves last night as I've watched the entire game and I must say that they deserve to move further if they keep this high pace game and skills.
Their momentum coming into this series is high that even the Grizzlies can't stop it. They just made an upset and a statement on the road.
Edwards and Towns leaded the way with 36 and 29 points respectively and nobody can stop Towns in the paint since he got 11/18 shooting. I predicted here Grizzlies in 6 or 7 but if the Timberwolves will win again which is highly unlikely, I think we can see a big upset here.

What happened to Nuggets ? it seems they cannot keep the pace with GSW and most likely they GSW will win in a series of 5.
Its expected.
No Murray and no Porter. Jokic is carrying them and it seems like the help from his other teammates wasn't enough for the team to defeat the complete Warriors team. The problem that I'm seeing though with the Warriors is that they can't stop Jokic inside the paint. 5 players in double figures with the Warriors and we expected that somebody will step up because Curry isn't 100% healthy and in this game its Poole with 30 points. I expect another players to step up again in Game 2.

Overall, its only Game 1 and for sure teams that lost today will make an adjustment on how they will bounce back in Game 2.

I've also liked the on-going bet between dads of players from wolves and memphis haha as that is great TV show and ratings for them.

Crazy that Woj leaked Jamal Murray has been cleared by doctors to play. The team says they’re leaving the decision in Jamal’s hands, but by saying that he’s been cleared to play and isn’t pretty much puts the fans on him in the court of public opinion. Sad because this team has so much potential but we now have a Kawhi Leonard with the Spurs type of situation going. I hope they get everything figured out because once Michael Porter Jr comes back Denver will be one of the youngest and most talented teams in the NBA.

And they lost the first game against the host team, GSW. It was Curry who played, but I have a feeling that Jamal might play as well. They were able to stay with the Warriors early on, but Jordan Poole again, started to lit up. It was a very balance attack by the Warriors but they have a hard time against a post up Jokic who just abuses Looney and Green. Gordon though has a tough games against Klay's defense didn't score in double figures.

The result of the game today is surprising because the teams that are usually dominant in the first round came out losing, especially the Memphis Grizzlies which is a bad match-up for them against the Wolves. I wonder how will they recover from this loss since they are teams of youngsters who are doesn't have enough experience to cool off the pressure of the NBA playoffs unless they are dominant in their games but now they already lose one which kinda depressing for them.

This is just one game though, for sure Ja Morant will bounce back from this shocking lost. The Wolves play if perfectly in this game, another great game coming from Edwards and he seems he continue from his play-in.

Hopefully, the Grizzlies can bounce back and even up the series as this will be one of the most interesting in round 1.

Timberwolves should be careful with them even if they won the 1st game. The Grizzlies are fast to adapt or adjust in their environment and they are one hell of a smart team with lots of talents. I am thinking 7 games as Anthony Edwards is also upgrading his skills in both offensive and defensive ends.
This may be the first time I saw a super fast pace game, they don't waste the shot clock, find the open man, run, and score.
How the Grizzlies will answer on that is not that hard as they have the same agility as them, they just need to be better.

I look forwards on Cleveland Cavaliers on the Eastern conference finals, though their stats looks average to some players but I think they can be on the semis or be the Eastern finals. Do sports betting website have this kind of market where you can pick a team and predict if they can reach finals or not?

ya.ya.yo!

Is this a bot account?  The cavs didn't make it out of the play in game let alone a conference finals?  Might want to plug into the internet and look up if a team is even in the playoffs to get to a conf finals before posting.  They have talent and the future is bright but this year they are going to be watching the ayoffs like all of us are 😀

The Grizzlies vs. Wolves game ended, and the final score surprised me a bit as the Grizzlies lost the first game on home court. I haven't watched the highlights of this game yet, but it looks like the Wolves played very hard against Ja Morant because he got fouled at least 10 times. As a result, Ja scored half of his points from the free-throw line.  Shocked

Whoever is the better team when it comes to defense will win the series and I think that's the Celtics. It's quite easy to pick the Nets because of the two superstars KD and Kyrie but I don't think the Celtics are that far behind.

Defense wins game,  that's what everyone was saying before the GSW took over the league. Yes, still up until now defense wins game, but not "always".
How about Brad Stevens said https://nbamath.com/the-nbas-new-mantra-good-offense-beats-good-defense/ in 2017 who happens to be the head coach of Boston Celtics.
Good Offense  beats good defense.
I am yet to see a team that can score well but cannot defend to win a series or a championship. Can you show me one? I was also thinking of how games today are usually played when I made that comment. A team's offense is as good as the other. Any team have someone who can score 40 or 50 points a game. So what really separates a champion from the rest? Isn't it the defensive stops they make that's converted into more points? You brought up GSW but they also have good defense that comes along with their great offense.

Let's go back to our original topic which is Net vs. Celtics BEST-OF-SEVEN SERIES. Nets may win one game on pure offense since they seem better in that department but they cannot win a SERIES with just that. Celtics has good offense too and better defensively than the Nets.

Quote
And also, I still remember a coach who was in the finals once said " our great offense is our defense". Not sure whether it was Steve Kerr from GSW or coach Spo from Miami before.
This saying is as old as it gets. It's already uttered even before these two became a coach.

As a spurs fan I am so happy that Clips lost, and Kawhi wasn't even playing. Dude is a true part-time player and they are paying so much money to him just so he would miss the season at all times. They have never won anything with him neither, we did, and I have to accept Raptors did, which is cool for them and since it was Raptors I really felt happy.

But, clips getting nothing out of him makes me happy, I hope dude retires soon. Hawks also looked cool but they are decent team anyway and it is not shocking. You know what is shocking? How good cavs are, normally when Lebron leaves, they look horrible and both the first time he did to Miami, and the second time when he left to lakers, Cavs looked horrible but now they look so much better.

And the cavs played hurt all year long.  They are a top 4 team if they do t lose sexton for the year and all the other players for good chunks.  I expect them to make noise next year.  Mobley looks like the real deal he needs to put on a couple more pounds and he will be a force.

The first game of the Dallas Mavericks - Utah Jazz matchup has started and there is not much time left for the end also. Jazz are still ahead by more than ten points and they are very likely to win this game. It is going to be a really tough matchup for sure. I believe in Mavericks to do better in the other games honestly. I even believe that they can still eliminate Jazz by 4-3. As long as they have Doncic, they always have a really good advantage in their hands. It is up to them to benefit from this in the best way possible.

I also didn't understand how Rondo, with his experience, didn't get the exposure he needed specially in the 4th quarter.

But the Hawks can't really be denied in this season, they struggled early and just try to keep phase and was able to get into the play-in. This team was really carried by Trae Young with good supporting role players. But they good their hands full against the Heat in the first round.

Even Kevin Love was only given 10 minutes while Rondo had only 15 minutes in the entire game, I don't know what their coach is thinking because Rondo could've help the team along the way.

However, the Hawks is really creeping behind them every quarter and in the 4th quarter that's the time they overtake and lead the game. Trae Young contributed 38 points, 6 of that points was on the 1st half while the remaining 32 points was in the 2nd half. I wanna see Trae Young to have a duo in the next season.

Love and Rondo can help, especially in the last quarter. They are both fresh since they only got some minutes of playing.

Not sure about that decision and surely the fans are also asking the same question, knowing how Rondo can facilitate
and how Love can help both offense and defense.

They are done now, and its Hawks will move to the playoffs facing the well-rested number 1 seed Miami. Another
tough much for Atlanta, Bulls are full equipped and have a good system to play.

As a knick fan I hate to say this but I'm going with the Hawks.  Trae is something else in these type of games.  Even though it's on the road.  X factor here is capella.  Mark, Mobley or love won't be able to muscle him.  If cavs had Allen completely different game but they don't.  Hoping for the cavs too cause I can't stand watching trae..
Sad to hear about what happened to Capela and yet the Hawks managed a win despite losing one of their core player. Trae is too much for them and I even thought Garland could cage him because of their identical speed but I guess the big difference was the skill and the experience.

Now what for the Hawks? A big man may not be able to play (no recent reports yet about the hyper extended knee) and I am sure the Heat will take advantage of that. They have Hunter and Okungwu left as their big men, I wish they could fill the shoes left by Capela.
Their other hope is John Collins. (injured finger, foot)
