The last day of the NBA regular season is upon us. Not too much to be excited for today. Joel Embiid will likely win the scoring title over LeBron James unless he plays and scores no points today. That’s probably the only thing to watch. TNT will be televising 2 games. Celtics vs Grizzlies and Warriors vs Pelicans. Can’t say I’ll be watching either, but I’m looking forward to the playoffs starting. We won’t get the Nets bs Lakers matchup in the finals I was hoping for, but I’m looking forward to seeing LaMelo in the play-in tourney and hoping Ben Simmons and Kawhi Leonard make postseason appearances.
The expectation for Kawhi Leonard to be back is so high after the game against the Sacramento Kings. It's a long playoffs and maybe he could but the commentator doesn't want to give hopes to anyone. Win the play-in is their first goal and who knows if he could return while they are keeping up.
They have Norman Powell now, I think that's great news. A big addition to their firepower which they lack as Reggie Jackson became on and off in his shooting percentage.
As for Ben, mental health issues, back problem, more drama. What could be next?!  Cheesy

My hopes for a Leonard come back has died down a little bit, because the Clippers could actually trade this years playoffs for a healthy team next season.
Though there's still a little hope remains, and that the decision is on Leonard whether or not he'd like to take a shot for this years playoffs. However, If the Clippers would still fall at number 8 and face the Suns on the first round, the Clippers would most likely not going to risk Leonard's health coz they knew how solid the Suns are this year.
Nobody knows anyway until the playoffs will officially begin.

The Kings won the match between the Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns. I was a little surprised because the performance of the Kings players was a little low this year. I guess the Suns didn't care too much about the game and wanted their players to rest.
Landry Shamet was the top scorer with 27 points. It was also a good performance with JaVale McGee getting 13 rebounds Smiley

Nothing to be surprised of with the game result on the verge of the season, especially with these 2 teams. That game means nothing anyway.

There are a lot of games today, Sixers won already, Joel didn't play but he will likely win the scoring title, first center for many years to average 30 point or more in the regular season.

Some of the games are blow out though, as they are resting their starters like in Grizzlies vs Celtics, as Ja and the others didn't play in their home court, so Celtics won by a huge margin.

I think it's better to take away Ben from the equation now, it's better if we will see Kahwi and then Powell back in action for the Clippers. I agree with the Reggie Jackson observation, but he still remains the glue when Kawhi is out and did a good job that's why there were able to at least go in the play-in. Otherwise, if his performance is bad, they couldn't even land to the spot that they are right now.

No question that he would win the MVP this season, however, I'm still worried about their playoffs, we have strong teams in the West that could match them, and them playing undermanned, I think they will be in trouble against a healthy team. However, I still wish them to win the first round, at least the first round.
With regards to playoffs, no offense for the Nuggets but I don't think that they can pass at least the first round. There is a chance that they will face either the Mavericks or the Warriors in the first round and with how these 2 teams are playing, I don't think that they will exit at the first round as well. Maybe they can beat the Mavericks but a healthy Warriors team? I don't think so and besides, I'm a Warrior fan so I'm a bit bias on that as well Tongue. Kudos to Jokic on how he played this season and he deserves another MVP title.

The Warriors won the Spurs tonight, and it looks like they will finish this season in 3rd place in the Western Conference. It means that the Nuggets will most likely face them in the first round of the playoffs. Although there is no doubt that Jokic will have great performances, and he will dominate inside the paint against the Warriors. However, I agree with you that the Nuggets won't have a chance against the Warriors because they are unlikely to be able to stop the Splash brothers.
If that is the case then they really doesn't have any chance to defeat a healthy Warriors. We know that Curry will return at the start of the playoffs or at least near that time so... we can expect that the Warriors will be entering the playoffs with a full roster unlike Nuggets who doesn't have any 2nd player that can help Jokic or at least help him with what he is doing.

Even Big Perk already said that the Nuggets will exit in first round and I agree with it. Maybe the Nuggets already accepted it but still they will fight until they can. Lakers are still a disgrace Cheesy.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Nuggets will advance in the 2nd round, Jokic will be the MVP this season, his confidence is on a high level and he is also getting support from his teammates like Gordon has become an improved player this season. There's also a rumor that Murray might be available in the playoffs, so who knows.

Back to the Lakers, I agree, Lebron wanted to carry these guys to another championship but too bad Anthony Davis was hurt so the wish won't come true.
Maybe next time. If there will be one, or if they keep them.

If only they were able to find the right chemistry, then they could have achieved a good ranking despite Davis's injury in the season. The problem is, even if Davis are playing, they are still struggling against a strong team because of their chemistry problem, players are not in synch and sometimes Westbrook are just throwing bricks that would result to a lose of the team.

If Westbrook remain a triple double machine, then for sure they are still in the playoffs.

Enough for this, we cannot turn back the time, let's just make it simple and tag the lakers to have failed this season. Their journey is over, next season it will be a different roster as some will be traded for sure. Maybe let's move to the play-in discussion.

What teams do you think will play against each other, and your winner?

A healthy and complete Warrior is really tough to beat, but who knows if Jokic alone will face them.

Just like what I have mentioned, the chance that Jamal will play during the first round will add weight for this Nugget's squad.
We all see how great the combo of Jamal and Joker is, both are good playmaker and reliable when the team needed to score a basket.
It's indeed a very interesting match if both come up with all their best to move forward.
But, it is hard to come by as well. I mean yes they are hard to beat if they are fully healthy and nobody has any problems, but at the same time they do not have healthy players at all times. Even when they play, that is usually either with a small injury, or with someone missing, or someone eventually getting injured.

The amount of games where EVERYONE is 100% healthy is a bit rare thing for them, definitely for the past few years. This is why I believe that we should not be expecting a lot from them. I am expecting them to actually do well enough to like maybe finals of the western conference but I am expecting suns to beat everyone anyway, they really deserve to be champions this year.

LeBron is really disappointed, indeed! From trying to build a superteam that turns into a losing magnet in the league.

The Lakers didn't build a superteam. LeBron just uses his influence to give chance to other players that are already past their prime but no teams are interested in signing them again. Look at Westbrook, the Wizards didn't even make an attempt to make him stay. Look at Dwight Howard, Sixers didn't keep him even though they need another big man alongside Joel Embiid. Look at Carmelo Anthony, no teams signed him during the 2019 season and Blazers just give him a chance mid-season. After that LeBron welcomed him to join the Lakers.

They are not building a superteam. The fans just named the team a super team which is really not.
Just like how they renamed the Warriors as a super team after winning 3 championships. Somehow, those who made names went viral and poisoned a lot of basketball fans. I still don't think the Warriors were a super team back then, it's all hard work and following the play that made them win. Curry's running around without the ball is not an easy task and the screen plays are dangerous giving up your body to be bumped hard.

Back to the Lakers, I agree, Lebron wanted to carry these guys to another championship but too bad Anthony Davis was hurt so the wish won't come true.

Yeah, it will be tough for Jokic to carry the Nuggets against the Warriors, for sure they will give the Warriors a good fight and it will not be a swept in the first round. But obviously, the Warriors have the numbers here, Kuminga, Draymond and Looney will alternate containing Jokic and I think that will be enough to slow him down.

And then the Splash brothers + Jordan Poole to do the damage offensively.

I love NBA games more than others sport games, but we don't have local sport channels to watch it. It is only when I subscribed to international decoder that I can watch and predict the games. And international decoders are costly in my end. That's not withstanding, this is yesterday's NBA results.
Grizzlies      Pelicans
 141          -      114

Really NBA games are difficult to predict, because the games are not certain like football games, although the team that faster is always likely to win but it is not always like that. Weak Teams might rise up and beat their opponent. The last match I watched was International NBA match. That was Nigeria and USA. I thought Nigeria would win the match because they played incredible but ironically, USA won the match.

Bulls had 3 wins in the last 10 games, that is a 30% win rate, or basically just about of playoffs team type of level. However, I have to say they are a young bunch of players that already guaranteed to go to playoffs and that seems like a good enough reason to relax a bit.

No, they shouldn't relax and just wanted to go to the playoffs. They should know better that they needed that experienced badly.

Between players missing games, and players like demar being old causing him to either miss games or not be great when he plays, that was bound to happen. They just need to regroup until playoffs and then be great there. Obviously we are not going to see them win the championship that easily, it requires some sort of experience that most players lack, but they could at least be decently good in the long run if they keep this up.

They really have to put a decent win again so that their morale will be back. It was only DeRozan who wanted to win badly and putting numbers the rest are just choking. They could exit the first round as well if they play bad like in their last 10 games.

Agreed if they've lost 7 of the last 10 and some pretty badly ypu don't want to coast into the playoffs.  That's how teams get knocked out real quick.  They need to figure this out right away because the last couple I seen them play doesn't look like a playoff team.

Hopefully, they'll not relax int he playoffs because it's where the serious battle is played.
With their last 10 games' performance, it's hard to think that the Bulls would be a serious contender in the playoffs, I don't want to disappoint myself so I would rather not expect too much from them, getting in the playoffs is still a decent improvement for this team.
