Depending on the situation and your athleticism, I share with you that LeBron James will be able to play after 40 years.
Lebron James is still in a great shape to continue playing in NBA for many more years indeed. Despite his current age, his performance level is very high now. He is one of the most special players in NBA history undoubtedly. And he is a legend at the same time. And I wonder whether we will see him at another team before he retires or he will decide to end his career at Lakers. As he won a championship with Lakers also maybe he could look for another adventure later.
There's a lot of speculation that Lebron might be waiting for his son to enter the NBA and hoping that they can play along for at least a season before he retires.
So with that, I think he will continue to play in his 40's and also protect his body so that he can keep up and still be athletic at that age. Not sure if he can catch up Karl Malone in the second position as all time scoring leaders, maybe that's one of his goals as well.
I've heard that speculation too and I think there are rumors too that there is also a chance that him and his son will be on the same team although I can't remember where I read this rumor. LeBron is 37 years old right now and currently 3rd in the scoring leaders and the difference between him and Malone in career points is around 1100 pts and him and the top scoring leader which is Kareem is around 2500 pts. Kareem retired at 42 years old.
Do you think that LeBron can surpass Kareem's career points in the span of 5 years seeing how he is playing right now? For me, I think that there is a chance knowing that his average right now is 25 PPG. If this continues in the next years I think he can be the top scoring leader in NBA history.
