It's so disrespectful if we don't recognize the effort of the team to win, Mavs put an effort on their win, they deserve the credit, and even if Luka was there, that does not guarantee that the Mavs will win.

Somehow agree here. I'm always with Dallas Mavericks to always win as their long-time fan but on that game against the Los Angeles Lakers, even Luka Doncic was there, I can't say that the result will be the other way around. If Luka was there, expect a different play from the Lakers keeping him contain all the time.

As Los Angeles Lakers fans will say, a win is a win no matter how close or tight the game is. Going back to Mavericks, I hope Dallas Mavericks will soon catch up at the competition. They are losing too even against low-tier teams and that should be taken note of.

Dallas Mavericks are still doing a nice job without Luka Doncic and I appreciate it honestly. But with Doncic, they reach some other level. He missed three games due to his injury so far. He is expected to come back after December 21 for now. He is going to miss at least one more game but after that we might see him starting to play again. And I can't wait to watch his great plays.

He is not a huge problem, Luka is, and the Lakers are lucky that Luka was out. It's a hard-fought victory and therefore they deserve the credit for beating a good team, but it's good to watch next time if Luka is going to play as he can play head to head with Lebron.
You probably need to edit your reply. By the way,
Post edited, I quote your post a wrong way.

even if Luka was out the Lakers was still struggling to get that win since most are lucky bunch on both teams. That was hell of a good game for both of them raining some threes during the overtime. Sure it will have a different outcome if Luka was playing with the Mavs.
Yeah, so Luka has to come back soon as they are going down in standings.

As the latest standing, they are 14-14 and rank number 7 now. It's too alarming as they could end up in the bottom of the standing or will not qualify in the play-in tournament if Luka will extend his return.

There is a great game tonight which is between Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers in Barclays Center. But Nets' condition with missing players doesn't seem very good. There are seven players who are ill due to covid-19 as it seems now. Harden is also among them but he might have a chance to play. But still, I don't expect this game to be played tonight. The Toronto Raptors - Chicago Bulls game has already been postponed and this game also seems likely.

I think the Lakers are just trying to have some fun with the Mavs to recover from the lead and catching up, and yeah they were bit overboard and went too confident that's why Mavs took it seriously to bury the Lakers in the 2nd quarter until the it reached overtime. Luckily Reaves made the last 3 points and closed the game in their favor to 107-104
That was a great game by Lakers but remember they were playing against Mavs and Mavs started the season so badly as well. Lakers is finally out of that play-in tournament spot and went to 6th and will stay there for a while I suppose, instead of 0.500 they are doing a lot better at 16-13 right now. However, the work is not done and they need to keep this win streak going to show that they are contenders. I mean at the start of the season when they started out, it was really not like this at all, they were seen as the biggest championship contender and now warriors looking more like it if you ask me, even suns look a lot better than Lakers.
Some teams really struggle, but it's not too late, we are not even halfway of the regular season, lots of changes would happen over time and what matters is that these teams are not really losing all the time. As for the LA Lakers, you can see that they have been winning games already compared to the early weeks where they lose even against a weaker team.

The game between the Lakers vs Mavericks was a hell of a watch especially the final moments of the last quarter.

Both players from the respective teams managed to score side-by-side, clutching 3s and 2s on the field but the last possession of the Lakers changed the outcome of the game. Though Westbrook avoided to shoot an open 3, he quickly realized that there was still time on the clock on which he drove the defender off and passed the ball to the rookie Austin Reaves who manages to sink in a game winner shot! Unbelievable game and it was a privileged to witness it live on my TV.

Lakers are starting to develop and find their team chemistry. I hope their development continues as I do have high hopes on the team.

Not sure about the chemistry though, they are still in the 6 place in the West but winning 3 straight already. But the big test for the Lakers is to face the top 3 teams and see if the chemistry is there, otherwise they are good only to win games against a low team, just saying. And they almost lost to a team without their best player, so I wouldn't say this is a good gauge about their chemistry.

They need to show me more than a week to jump on that banwagon.  I still think that they will struggle keeping guys on the court.  Time will tell with this team but they are rolling the dice with age.

As for the Mavs, yes KP is the big head ache but Lebron was able to lead the Lakers to this hard fought victory.

As expected for LeBron James even at his age of 37 years old. He's so committed in his physical training to give out his best in the court, trying to block any possible contact. He is reportedly to spend $1.5 Million to his fitness and physical trainings annually. So atleast, his investments to his body pays off.

That's just right because he is the king on NBA and he is making a lot of money, his salary alone this year already reach $41 million, plus he still has a lot of endorsement that would increase his income. We love to see him have more seasons and break the stats in the upper ranking.

https://hoopshype.com/player/lebron-james/salary/

Consider the amount of money he is paying as his investment, otherwise, he would not be able to achieve more in his career as he might have retired already or his production will go down. As of now, Lebron's production is still at a normal level.

There's barely no changes if you look at his stats. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html
LA Lakers will not regret giving him the contract becausehe can really provide, and a good leader as well.
He still has the same productions, I agree with both of you,

LeBron invested in his physical health, and he's benefiting in it. At his age, regular players are retired or slow, not but for him
he still showing that athleticism.

He's trying to continue being the King and working hard to stay in the league for more season. We don't know till when...

True, he is one lucky guy to have that kind of genes and then couple with the advancement of sports science now, he was able to maintain his health and physicality even at age 37 and for sure we will see more of him or maybe him and his son together in the basketball court for the next 3 years or so.

I'd like to thank Mavericks and Lakers both for making us watch a very competitive game last night. The normal time ended by 93-93 and we watched Lakers to beat Mavericks 107-104 after overtime. Lakers must be very happy about Davis' playing in this game also. Because he might not have played in this game because of an injury. The Lebron - Westbrook - Davis trio was so great. Mavericks still did a solid work but it wasn't enough for the win.
Yes, Kristaps Porzingis gave them a hell of a game especially in the defensive end with 2 blocks and 12 rebounds. I like where this is going for the Mavs if the Unicorn will stay that way. Trying to be a forward/center so that when Luka comes back they will be stronger.

Austin Reaves. The man of the game for the Lakers. It's not actually extraordinary because he was perfect from the outside line in the first half. Ended the game with 5/6 on that field and there is no one else better to shoot that ball on the 3 point line than him. Frank Vogel knew it and the whole Laker team might had an agreement that it should be him for the final throw. Thankfully, the time was enough for the ball to rotate and give him a lot of space for the shot.

If he can still play until his 40's, that's good for basketball and good for him as that means more money will come for him. Lebron is a good example of an athlete as he knows how to take care of his weapon, and that is his body. Maybe some are having parties and not discipline enough because they already have a lot of money, but Lebron is different, he is not only chasing from money but most of all he is chasing for greatness.

Lakers are shooting unnecessary shots, they just shooting threes with the confidence of getting it but they missed the last three from Westbrook, Davis, and Melo.

Looks the real game will start in the second half because this time they are just catching the score each time the Mavs take the lead.

But look at this insane block from Lebron though they called it goaltending, this is amazing from a 37 years old guy.

Lakers had one of their toughest games last night but they still were able to defeat their competitor Mavericks. We watched great teamplays from both sides and they both deserved to win equallly I suppose. Westbrook was so close to making a triple-double by 23 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Davis made a double-double (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Lebron was the most scorer of the team as usual.

Lebron is the most consistent scorer on the team, and it's not surprising that he leads the team. What I like with that win is that Westbrook had a good game, if he can only be consistent, this Laker team will certainly proved that their lineup is going to win the championship this season. It's not too late yet, though they are not in the top of the standings, but winning games is a good sign they'll improved overtime.
