Okay, a twist suddenly happens. I think the Lakers are forgetting about JJ Redick. They offered a lot of money to someone else.

This will be big and this will be something new.
We are used to hiring coaches within the NBA only. Assistant coaches or players with the brain to do it. Now, the Lakers are trying to hire a coach from the March Madness champion Uconn.
Somehow it surprised me because I thought they were going to get someone else from the assistant coaches of the NBA and yet here we are. This must be shocking for Coach Hurley too but if I am in his position I will definitely take the job because this is the chance to show off how good he is. Solidify it.

Porzingis has been confirmed to be available for the game today, according Shams Charania a NBA Insider on twitter, he said KP will be starting from the bench with Al Horford getting the nod to start as the Center for the Boston Celtics, I guess emotions will be all over the place for this game, Kyrie returning to Boston when he’s not done so well since leaving and Porzingis also facing his former team too. Game 1 here will be more about settling in to the series and match ups than actually being terrific, I’d say. I guess we’ll see who is able to handle to the pressure more.

I'm rooting for Dallas too.  I wasn't a huge Luka fan before but the dude is just deadly.  Looking forward to his matchup against true holiday.  Celtics switch everything so if Dallas can get derrick white against Luka it will be a long night for them.  Think for Boston Krista's is the key to that matchup.  Don't think lively matches up well against him the way he plays.

I'd like to see an upset with the crowd predicting that but it can't be stopped when Boston plays better than Mavericks. We all shall see it with all the coming 3-4 games and that will likely be the decider of this series.

But as much as I want to see it come to an end, it's always best to watch a series until game 7. It's going to be in the books of the NBA history and for sure that it will be memorable.

Oh well, can't wait as it's just gonna be there within several minutes and less than an hour or so.

Yeah, for sure majority of the basketball fans here are going to tune in for Game 1. I think it's good that the NBA had a long break before this finals because it seems that everyone know is very excited as if they created more hype in the first game between this two great team.

The matchup that we all wanted to see, the best duo now in the NBA going against each other, Tatum/Brown(East conference MVP), against Kyrie/Luka(West conference MVP). And they have a lot of supporting cast as well that this series is unpredictable although as per betting odds, the Boston Celtics is a big favorite to win this years championship.

With him in the line up, he'll be able to help to  defend the bigs  of the Dallas and to grab some rebounds. This is an exciting game 1 as we have no idea what would happen, the last 4 games where the Celitics swept the Dallas in the regular season is nothing, it can't be used to determine which team will  win because Dallas now are completely a different team with their confidence at a high level.

Luka vs Tatum / Irving vs Brown. Great match up, let's see who'll take the first blood.

And the big day has come. The first game of the NBA finals will be played tonight. Boston Celtics - Dallas Mavericks.
Neither team is missing any important players. On one side is Jason Tatum - Jaylen Brown, on the other side is Luka Doncic - Kyri Irving.
My favorites are Luka and Kyrie, I think these two will win the championship.

I agree with you,  he's no longer on his prime where he can carry the whole team unlike before and also he's now in the west side where competition is really tough, and with lots of changes and adjustments Bron also needs to embrace the change and try to work on it,  with another new coach he needs to help but also needs to listen,  I think it's been pointed the chemistry between him and Redick just needed to execute everything when they already inside the court, we never know what will happen next let's wait if things will work well for both of them and the rest of the team.

Bron made a lot of decisions before during his prime. Maybe he was right or wrong. One thing is sure, coach Spoelstra is a legend and should be followed rather than Lebron's decisions.

It'll be interesting if it works these days for Lebron because he is already past his prime. If he continues like that some of his team mates or the management might not agree with him anymore and will ditch him. As we saw lately, the Lakers have the stars and good cast of supports but they always fail and can't even reach the conference finals anymore.

Or it would be easier if he just listens to LeBron. That way, he can ensure that his stay with the Lakers will last longer. LeBron gets what he wants. There have been good coaches that he played with before, but if LeBron is not happy with them, things can change quickly. For example, with Coach Spoelstra in Miami, LeBron couldn't fire him, so he left Miami and went back to Cleveland. Remember David Blatt? LeBron got him fired and he was replaced by Tyronn Lue.

I think if that connection will be executed inside the court then Redick might be the coach LeBron is aiming for, they can create a good system that will bring every one to blend together, imagine your headcoach designing the play and your main man will execute it inside the court for sure it will give them the result that they are aiming, though that's too early to conclude,

Just need to wait and see if how LeBron and Redick will find that chemistry that will bring the whole team to play as one.

It’s very hard to coach Lakers if you are not a well known veteran coach since the expectation is very high. Most of the mistakes even part of it is from players will channel automatically to coach since Lakers GM is licking Lebron butt which means players can never go wrong.

I believe Reddick  is somehow a good replacement due to experience as player which Lebron will respect. Lakers need a coach which Le-bum pay respect or else he will keep insisting his strategy while the coach will just use as proxy that will take or blame.

I guess though it's just a theory, Lebron is not the Lakers, Reddick has to deal with AD too and other talented players in their roster. They could have chemistry and what they are thinking, but can it translate to winning formula? It remain to be seen, but as others might have pointed out, for now we will give Reddick a benefit of the doubt. The same thing that we did with his predecessor in Darvin Ham, although I think some of us might have seen this already as Darvin doesn't have the experience to lead a great team like the Lakers and he has been criticized already before being fired because of their poor performance this season.

I think this is what gave the Lakers the idea to get Redick as their coach. The chemistry with Lebron is so great when it comes to making plays, what's next, defense, offense, and almost everything about the basketball floor.
They will not have any problem with each other and maybe their obsession with basketball could somehow be fruitful and it will show their rank next season.
Redick is a smooth talker too so I guess that won't be a problem with the Lakers team although he is still young.

For sure the revenue is going to be high with Lebron still wearing the Lakers uniform, Why LeBron James Is Worth $100 Million to the Lakers, Win or Lose.

But in any case, trying to be so influential as who is going to coach them? That I don't like, it's like they have given him so much power, Rob Pelinka should really do his job as he has been failing the Lakers since winning a championship with Frank Vogel. After that, it's all downhill for them. Let's wait and see, if it is Reddick or not, remains to be seen.

On the one hand, some fans may really hate him because of this, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers can't even reach the playoffs with a new coach next regular season. But on the other hand, having Lebron on the team is sure to have a positive impact on any team's revenue. I don't know if there are any stats on this, but I think ticket prices for games involving LeBron are always higher than usual.

That's the power that Le-GM has and that's why the Laker fans hate him.

He's that powerful that you will think if you're the coach that you don't have the power to control your team. As the head coach, it's their responsibility to lead their team, but the problem with Le-GM is that he wants you to lead the team as the head coach but on the other hand, if things do not go his way, he will just use his powers to either fire the coach or at least say negative things to them.

Like what you said, there's no problem if the player says something to the coach since it might help the whole team as well. The point is, Le-GM must not use his manipulative skills to do what he wants to do on his team. I just hope that if JJ Redick will be their new head coach, he will let him do what he wants if that will help the whole team.

That's BS if they will trade him to the Bulls. Who will the Bulls give? And if there are, is it attractive enough for the Lakers to trade him just to get those players.

He played his best season of his career as a Laker, and they just gave him a huge contract so the rumors spreading regarding him going to the Bulls is pure BS because I don't think that they will trade him "UNLESS" Rob Pelinka will make some shitty trades again like what he did when he and Le-GM get Westbrook.

Dallas Mavericks no doubt is playing good even they're away from home. They've been beating Minnesota Timberwolves on their home court and that's why even with Boston on their home, this is no longer an issue for them and it's the same with the Boston Celtics.

I was really feeling that Klay will be out of the Golden State Warriors, he didn't played on their last series' but it's true that there's no need to be worried about these trades for the meantime. As the finals is coming, we have to enjoy it and let all of those rumors come into reality and if there are trades that are actually going to happen, let them be. But for now, the game is about to happen in a day so, that's giving everyone the excitement once again. We have to prepare also our pockets for this finals.

The first game of the final series is just around the corner, the first game will be played in Boston. Boston Celtics have the advantage because they are playing at home and they have the support of their fans.
But Dallas is my favorite in this series, they are playing really well.
I wonder how Boston will defend the duo of Doncic and Kyrie.

It was just a rumor, but it seems that it will cost a lot from the Bulls to get AD, as it was said that Zach Lavine and even DeRozan are in the table + one future draft pick. So that is huge so I'm not sure if Bulls are willing to let go of their players, specially DeRozan who I thought will be the new franchise player as Lavine seems to be not happy anymore with the Bulls and we have been hearing about him being traded after the all star break.

And there are a lot of good players that might be on the move, like

a. Donovan Mitchell,
b. Brandon Ingram
c. Klay Thompson
d. Paul George

But still very early to talk about it, we still have the Finals between Boston and Dallas so let's just enjoy that series.
