Steph looking to expand on his league’s best 30 points per game streak tonight against the Boston Celtics on ABC. You might need a reason like this to watch the Warriors nowadays with their injury problems. I’m looking at this game starting my night and the Jake Paul vs Ben Askren fight to end things.

They are no. 9 in the western conference and they still have lots of games left that they could use to take advantage to get some winning streaks to somehow enter the playoff tree. They are getting some good winning streaks this past few days and the next game will be a real challenge for them since they will be competing with one of the best in the league. If they win this game against the Boston Celtics, they will be getting the first 5 winning streaks this season.

If this game will be a high scoring game, then we can expect that Curry would make make more 3s, probably minimum of 6. He has been unstoppable, he has improve every season and is looking like a machine due to his accuracy in 3 point shooting. Wish him to be healthy this season so he'll continue with his journey to the hall of fame.

I have to say, I am very impressed with what the New York Knicks are putting together this season.  I sure did not see this coming, but with that said I'm also not surprised being that they are coached by Tom Thibodeau.  As a Chicago Bulls fan I was absolutely furious when the Bulls management forced him out of Chicago.  He may be absolutely "basketball nuts", as he's a bit overboard with his passion for the game at times, but he sure does get results.  I believe the Knicks have the best defense in the game right now...crazy.

Same here mate, I did not also expect that Julius Randle will be this good in this season. I don't usually watch every game of the Knicks but man, they are on a hot streak now and Randle made 44 points and 10 rebounds against Luka's team, I never seen him put up this kind of numbers before to be honest.

Randle has been posting numbers lile that all season.  I usually watch every game and randle has been nothing short of amazing this year.  His baseline jump shot is sick and he has been amazing on the boards and running the team.  Finally enjoyable to watch after years of throwing terrible teams out there.

I guess I really missed it, from now on I'll follow them as I like to bet on them since they are hot. I love the fact that they are undervalued on the bookies side, they always give a good odds for the Knicks bettors, just like the last game against the Mavericks. So if Randle is putting these kind of numbers consistently, maybe he can be part for of the choices for the MVP this season, what's the chances?

Instead of watching compete the main candidates to the NBA Finals, we will be watching the reserves match. The NBA must seriously consider reducing the number of games played during the season.
They already did it. As you may know, each team will play only 72 games during this season, not 82. However, I guess the main reason for so many injuries became the shortest offseason, especially for the Lakers. IIRC Lakers players had only 71 days for rest after the end of the previous final.

As new York Kniks keep winning, which they are in 5 win streak now, they are already in the rank number 6 and that is just great to ensure a playoff spot.

I could not imagine they'll be so good too, but with a new coach, we are now seeing the beauty of success.

The Jamal Murray injury was an unfortunate event for the Nuggets and this will be a big challenge for the big man of the team, Nikola Jokic.
The season is almost ending and he is one of the top to achieve the Kia MVP trophy. Without his partner and their deep chemistry will he have the same performance to reach his goal?
Kia MVP Ladder: Durable Nikola Jokic faces biggest challenge yet

He already stepped up his game that is why he's in the MVP race. Is there more to it?
For me as a Nuggets fan, it's a no. But, he could always play at his best for every game. He's already doing that.  Smiley
The ones who need to step up are his teammates. Porter Jr. already made his move. I hope the others will follow.
I am calling it now, no matter how great Jokic could be, without Murray they are not going to win anything, they were already not a title contender in my mind, but even if they had a small chance to win it, they will not win it now for sure. That is the same thing I keep saying about Nets, they could lose someone to injury during playoffs and suddenly the team that is seen as the best roster in NBA right now could become a second rate team.

You think Durant-Harden would be enough to win? Lakers have Lebron and AD, Clippers have PG13 and Kawhi, these are all great duos, sure you may see them better or worse but role players make the difference there at that point, look at Bucks, they have two time MVP and they sucked last year. So, that is why I think one major player gone for the season would mean that your chances are gone because parity is much better these days, every team has a chance with their superstars, one of them gone means their chances are gone too.

This is really a nightmare for Lakers surely. It means that they will be able to play with their reserves only. It looks like it will be a very easy game for Jazz and they could get a win even with a huge point gap.

We have approximately one month left of regular season basketball left, the play-in tournament is scheduled to begin May 18. My question is which teams do you think will make the playoffs (more specifically the play-in tournament) and which not?

As of right now, the standings look like this: stats source : https://www.espn.com
East:                             West:

7  Heat     28   28   .500        7   Mavericks   30   25   .545
8  Hornets  27   28   .491        8   Grizzlies   28   26   .519
9  Pacers   26   29   .473        9   Warriors    28   28   .500
10 Raptors  23   34   .404        10  Spurs       26   28   .481
11 Bulls    22   33   .400        11  Pelicans    25   31   .446
12 Wizards  22   33   .400        12  Kings       22   34   .393
13 Cavs     20   35   .364        13  Thunder     20   36   .357
14 Magic    18   38   .321        14  T'Wolves    15   42   .263
15 Pistons  17   39   .304        15  Rockets     14   42   .250

Infographic of the play-in tournament: click image

Looking out West, it seems only Pelicans have a shot at the 10th seed, with their recent nine-game losing streak, the Kings are almost certainly out of the picture.

A lot more interesting in the Eastern conference where at least 4 teams have realistic odds of making the play-in, and if i have to put my money on one team, i would take the Wizards who are on a nice little three-game winning streak, beating a team like the Jazz.

This is really sad news to see when both of the teams were really trying to rebuild teams even before the season started. Speedy recoveries is the only thing we can hope for and no more injuries to come.

When it comes to games like this, its also nice to see the reserves get the playing time. Its still in the middle of the season and they will have the opportunity to shine and win a game. They got into the team because they were expected to do great things that would benefit their team and even though some players are injured, they always take time to properly support their team in matches.

I really thought that they are going to struggle without Jamal, but Denver keeps on winning with Jokic raising his game a bit. So yes it will be a big challenge for him, but since he is playing consistently, not sure so I agree that it's more of his team mates that needs to step up the plate because we are now entering playoffs and the mentality will have a complete shift. It's either others will embrace the challenge or melt under the spotlight again.
Sad to say but they will struggle soon, Jamal has a big impact on the game since the joke became a passer with Murray on the floor everything becomes easy for other teammates since the defense will need to gamble who needs to be guarded unlike now they are very predictable, yes they will win, but when it really matters they will need Jamal to be in the floor, I hope he will come back with the same energy next season.

This is true. They were potentially a contender with Jamal in their line up but this injury really messes up their momentum into being a contender for the chip. This situation would likely be an event in which other players need to step up because having Jamal injured means that they need to fill in a very big gap that he left. Jokic will now play more post up in the upcoming games and the offense will basically revolve around him.

As long as they are playing together they still got the winning momentum, Jamal's impact indeed give them a good lift but instead
of thinking about him and his leadership, they needed to adjust and keep finding the right plays to continue their winning momentum.
Jokic as we know him, he always give space to everyone, with Porter and Gordon the threat still their for the Nuggets.

Coaching staffs needs to work more in keep finding good set up plays they should have more options, playoffs is nearing they need to
keep improving both defense and offense without Jamal everyone should take part to continue their rally.

So New York Knicks upset Dallas in their home court. Knicks really play good defense down the stretch and Luka's magic was late, while Randle taking care of business with a double double, 44 10 tonight.

Randle also had good shoot %  16-29    and 6-11   for 3pt  It is impossible to compete against team with such player. Mavs have god defenders and all were healthy but no way to limit Randle shoots.
