I’m not sure about the rules with championship rings, but isn’t it possible he would still receive one if the Nets won?

Not sure here too about that but in my own view, since Aldridge is part of that championship season, he will receive a ring. And for let's say, the Nets will be a champion instead next season, then no ring for Aldridge unless for a recognition.

Sad to see that he never experience being a champion and this season gives him a high chance of achieving that but unexpected things happened.

I’m not sure about the rules with championship rings, but isn’t it possible he would still receive one if the Nets won? I should probably Google the number of games one has to play to get a ring with that team, but it seems like a possibility.

Yes! They surely will. I guess it's the team's freewill who are those individuals eligible for the ring, If a specific team has won the championship. I remember Demarcus Cousins received his ring with the Lakers even after he was waived, and even Anderson Varejao who also received his ring with the Cavs after being traded at GSW.
Giving rings to former teammate doesn't mean they're championships too, but it's a way to give them credit for contributing as a teammate during the regular season. There's no rules in the NBA who is eligible for the ring and who's not.

It's just sad to see another talented big man in the league retired barely at the peak of his career and still a huge contribution to the team. LA along side with Chris Bosh retired early due to health reasons.

BREAKING NEWS: LaMarcus Aldridge retires from NBA

I've read it several times, even check the date, to see if this true. And it's real.  I'm surprised because just recently, he's part of the big news when he becomes a part of the most stacked team in the NBA right now, Brooklyn Nets.

Just to save others from clicking that link, Aldridge said he experienced an irregular heartbeat during their last game against the Lakers and worsened later in the evening. He was rushed to the hospital after telling the team what happened.

This was unexpected. Maybe he just didn't share it but looks like his medical condition is something serious to the point that he retires quickly instead of just resting for long or give few weeks before announcing it.
Unexpected and I'm also surprised to read that news, I've first read it on social media and thought of it as a joke because of the recent news that he recently transferred to Nets. Well, health over career and speedy recovery to him. It's good that he has chosen his health first and put that into priority, he can still be part of the league or his team but not as a player.

I'm sad for him, this could be his chance to win an NBA championship but this happened, I hope he is okay, if that's the right thing to do then be it, let's just pray for him. Disease makes their dream stops, just like Chris Bosh when he had a health issue, he never came back to play again.

I feel for him though. Sounds like his life means more to him than a ring, as it should be.

Players can't just say that they will retire that fast so, on that quick decision, we can assume already that his health situation is critical.

A big Respect to Aldridge! Health over winning a championship. He can choose to be sidelined and no need to retire but he still chooses to stay at home, with his family, for good.

If he was spooked enough and thought he was gonna die, I could see him retiring immediately regardless of what the doctors tell him about his future.

I highly doubt on that if its possible because once a player retires then he's no longer connected on any means and in case Nets would able to get a ring but still it cant be counted.

If he decided to retire for the good then its his decision and we are pretty sure that this one isnt something an easy one to be made because you do need to choose neither
your health or your career and he definitely chose up his own health.

Lets just respect his decision.

Not that a fan of the lad but it was a sad one to this sudden retirement but I guess this is for his health and I think that should be the top priority. It's a shocking news but this is how it should be and hoping for his fast recovery.

Definitely a crazy turn of events. I feel for him though. Sounds like his life means more to him than a ring, as it should be. Here’s the link to his announcement on his Twitter feed. Good luck LaMarcus!

I was really shocked by this news, man. I've also heard about it on Twitter. After being traded to Nets, none of us was waiting this kind of thing to happen. But I have nothing to say but respect. I also wish him good luck!

This is definitely bad news for his fans and the Nets. I think it was a tough decision for him, and I would say that this decision was hasty, but it looks like Aldridge is afraid that heart problems may recur. Anyway, health before everything else.

Yeah, unexpected that after he moves to Brooklyn he suddenly experienced a bad episode of irregular heartbeat. I'm not a medical personnel, but it seems if he didn't stop playing maybe it will contribute to heart problems later that's why I will say its tough but easy decision for him to abruptly quit and retire from his basketball career.

Wow! That's very surprising, he's still young and still got those great post up moves.

But if this about his health better to take this move than to suffer along the way, he needs to take the long rest so instead of asking for it he choose to
completely move away from this league.

Hope  this decision helps him to work more for his health. Keep Safe LMA..

Luka Magic does it again! Another buzzer beater that will be added in his highlight reels with just 1.8 seconds left in the 4th against the Grizzlies.
He had been off in the 3 point line but when needed he could create magic.
A big win for the Mavs to prevent a third losing streak. Their last one was January.

Grayson Allen with his rats eating his confidence. Obviously, he choked. 91 percent in the freethrow line but still missed 2 of it.
He had the chance to ice the game with a 4 point lead but he just cant.

Yup Luka had 4 points in first half and 25 in the second. According to @inpredict, the Mavs had a 1.3% chance to win the game when Grayson Allen rebounded Doncic's missed free throw with 2.2 seconds left. One thing I learned so far is to watch all games where Luka play to the end. It was worth to watch to 6 am. There is already new NBA logo in the works

Let's talk about the NYK, they won again, this time against the New Orleans Pelicans.

116-106, that was a 10 point win.

I guess everyone should look at how good this team now, they might be a big suprise in the playoffs and honestly, I'm really impressed with how Randle has improve with the Knicks. What do you think, are they a real threat in the playoffs?
It's true.
Randle had improved so much. I remember they almost beaten the Nets if not for that bad call of the referee against Randle for a traveling.
He was so furious about it, he didn't notice he hit Green or he did it on purpose.
Anyway, the Knicks had been great whenever they play at home but really bad on road. 4 winning streaks now but can they handle the Mavericks next with so much talent on their roster.
Defense is their strength and Tom Thibodeau did a great job taking care of these young talents.

I don't think they will be a threat in the playoffs, they will be eliminated in the first round 4-1 I think, they don't have players that can compete with other players, they don't have much fire power to compete, they maybe need another year and some star players to lead the team with Julius, I like the team buys they have no much especially if they will have to face the nets, it will be a walk in the park.

They are one of the hottest team right now, they have lost close games, but this time they are on a 4 game winning streak, and knocking on Celtics for the 5th spot. Randle with 32 points and he hits clutch baskets and they play good defense on Zion. Also Burke is hot, 21 points in 22 minutes. They will be facing Luka's magic next (for sure they will be the underdog here), I know it will be another cliff hanger game, so ML for New York will be attractive.

I like the ML as well, both have 1 day rest and NYK will play at the home court of the Dallas Mavericks. Playing on the road makes them underdog, so it's a geat chance for the Knicks believer to bet on their team to beat Luka Magic who did magic again against the Memphis Grizzies.

They should get some more wins in the upcoming games since they are now in the top 5 seeds and it will only take them a few lose games to be finally out of the 2021 NBA playoffs. Because the time behind them is also competing to get some win to get to their current spot. Every team is working hard in these last games and also they need to beat those teams who want to get to their spot to secured their playoffs spot.
