When teams have 5 on 5 on their practice games, it is never same as real game, real game will always be harder, and when teams have preseason it is not a real game like regular season but it is definitely better than doing 5 on 5 at practice within the team, and when teams play playoff games it is never like regular season they play a lot better in playoffs. So, in about 20 days period we saw the teams at practice, we are seeing them at preseason, we will see them on regular season and we will see them at playoffs.

Teams will gear up a lot higher and a lot quicker right in these 3 weeks, it is going to be different and weird but will be awesome to see this closely. I am 100% sure that Lakers are trying some new stuff, but when it comes playoff time they will bring out Lebron and just destroy everything on their path.

Out of the 2 days scrimmages what teams are the most fun to watch?
I love how Toronto and Houston played a speed game.

I watched the highlighted games of Lakers and Mavs which only make Lakers play like they don't really have the usual energy they got on the game. The only reason might be they just saving their energy for the real games which will gonna happened a few days ago from now. They need to get back on track or their dream championship will only fall in jeopardy. Honestly, if they don't get any championship in this season their team will be a laughing stock again.

I guess so too. But earlier, their game against Magic, Lakers seemed to be a bit different. Kuz was really explosive, bench players are now even stepping up. Not sure, if Magic wasn't doing well, or is it just, LA was a bit too good for 'em Huh. But whatever, it is still just a scrimmage after all, just sort of conditioning LOL.

Well, being a laughing stock is pretty usual on whatever team wouldn't get the ring. Lakeshow became more interesting to make fun of, because Bron was there in which everybody had their eyes on. The guy has a lot of haters  Undecided.

It seems Pelicans have the same aggressive style with no defense at all but going full attack mode all the time so no wonder why they score a lot and I remember teams saying that you must focus on defend when you playing against them  Grin.

Today we have Mavs against Pacers so lets see if Mavs can keep up 2 games at the same pace against 2 great teams ( Lakers and now Pacers )

I just finished watching the highlights of the Pelicans vs. Nuggets scrimmage.
I can say they are now combining their strengths.
Everyone is contributing and being aggressive on the floor especially Jrue Holiday even though he just went in for short minutes.

How about Jaxson Hayes and Frank Jackson?
This two guys are really something else. They are already pumped up even if it's just scrimmage.
Want to see more of this guys offense when the season starts.

Mike Miller, I'm surprise, this was a Miami heat player, right?  Was it his first coaching job if ever accepted? And wait, where's Jason kidd here?
Actually we have the same thought but I experienced that a year ago.  Grin
Mike Miller the player, did push a coaching career but did resign.

They never change, that's why if you are betting, go with the over, especially if you think they will dictate the pace.

Mavs is always fun to watch, they are healthy now so it's good to see, if they beat the Lakers, for sure they can beat the Pacers, but this is a scrimmage game, not expecting a serious play.

The Knicks' head coaching search, as of Monday morning, has been rumored to involve ten different candidates. Tom Thibodeau, Kenny Atkinson, Mike Miller, Mike Woodson, Ime Udoka, Pat Delany, Chris Fleming, Will Hardy, Jamahl Mosley, and Mike Brown will all interview for the lead coaching position in New York, with Thibodeau as the reported preferred candidate.
Let's see what he can do with this young players.
Can he make RJ Barrett shine as how Ja and Zion shines now.

Was it his first coaching job if ever accepted? And wait, where's Jason kidd here?

Yes, I am also interested about Jason Kidd, there was a lot of hype that he take the lead in Knicks coaching search, but his name is not in the list.

So who will disturb the freethrow shooter now?  Grin Commentator said it will just be chants and boos.

Because of the technology mentioned above and based on the image below, fans can now disturb the freethrow shooter of the away team, maybe by doing several motions of their faces. It's really distracting. Cheesy Then they just need to stay put if the home team is doing the freethrow.

There it goes.
I haven't seen that update. It's just too silent when making a freethrow for both teams even if it looks like they are the home team with everything on the screen.  Thanks.

Personally, i don't like the fit here, Tibs couldn't mash with Towns, Wiggins and LaVine, then as a GM cooked up a horrible trade giving so much for a half a season with Jimmy Butler. Knicks have a bunch of young dudes, just like Wolves did, imo Mike Woodson or Kenny Atkinson would've been a better choice.

What do you think, Thibodeau good fit for the Knicks or it doesn't matter who the head coach is as long as Dolan is still there?  Grin

The time has changed and with the current setting.

It changed a lot and even the most dominating team can even have its turnover. We will not know until we see them playing with an official game. I like to watch games again for Bucks and Lakers and let's see how it goes.

Agree to that,  this new settings with pandemic is really exciting to watch out, let see how underdogs will rise up and show more competitives games.
Yup.

The teams that are at the top can be at the bottom later on. The teams that are below, can be at the top and take their time to shine.

Or the teams from the top shall remain their place and same with the teams that are below.

Everyone is excited.

After I saw the games of Lakers in the current pre season, now , I have high doubts that they can win this season as Bucks, Mavs and Raptors are looking even solid before the corona break so I'm expecting some big surprises when the season resumes.  Roll Eyes

Adding to that, Clippers and Nuggets are also a good contenders from the west plus Boston and Sixers from the east. There's possibilities of seeing
surprises when resumes take place especially after the 2nd round.
Mavericks is an underrated team, but they are playing really well, so they could make some surprises maybe beating the Lakers if ever they will meet in the 2nd round. But I think the most biggest rival of the Lakers here is the clippers, this is just my own opinion, I'm just saying what I see and what I though the clippers can do in the playoffs.

Bucks might not advance in the NBA finals this season, a lot of good teams in the East that could possibly beat them, even if they have the best record in the league. The Boston, Sixers, and Raptors, they area  hell of a team, they won't give an easy game to the best team in the NBA right now.

I do not think that "we should get used to it", he is nowhere near that level just yet, he needs Blake Griffin level of practice and improvement before he can be a good shooter, until that moment the most I can see is maybe 1 three pointer per game, which is nothing to really worry about by the opposing teams.

That's right!
My point, exactly.
They are making a big fuss over a small quantity of 3 points getting in just because he didn't do such a thing for the last 2 years.
I don't know about news today, or they are just making scoops with nothing much t publish nowadays.

Thibodeau did good with the Bulls system making him coach of the year at 2010 but its just half of it since D.Rose is a real monster back then.
I had problems trying to understand T'Wolves management, they keep on trading players which destroys chemistry.
But still he manage to put them in playoffs too.
I am with Thibodeau here. Knicks might have a chance to be put on map again.  Grin

I like surprises too, but pre season or scrimmage is not a good basis to predict their performance int he playoffs.
Raptors might pull out a show, remember they are the depending champion, so if they will make a surprise, I guess they'll start doing it at the East.

Starting July 30, the NBA will outfit each game court with 17-foot-tall LED screens that wrap three sides of the arena. These “stands” will be populated with more than 300 cheering fans who will join the game using Together mode in Teams. Alongside a view of their fellow fans, participants can watch a live feed of the game right within Teams.

Honestly, "Together Mode" technology is awesome and being used now in other sectors and industries. It will somehow create a real-audience feeling that is way different from the setup of virtual fans on other sports.

And besides, surely it wasn't free so it might contribute to NBA's revenue as well (although, it's just for 300 fans).

Well, might not be look good by some people out there but I appreciate what the NBA is doing. Kudos also to Microsoft.

"Report: Tom Thibodeau Finalizing Five-Year Deal With Knicks" - source

Some outside of the bubble news, Knicks are reportidly hiring Tom Thibodeau to be their head coach for the next 5 years.
Contract in not yet finalized but from what i'm hearing it's a done deal.

Yeah but the improvement to more three point shooting starts with a bit of shooting first, you do not go out there and shoot 10 three pointers per game, you first shoot 1, than 2, and so forth. Plus I do not think he actually developed anything but also Coach has to say stuff like that in order to make the other team somehow think he could shoot now so they could defend him closer and when they do he could go pass them into the paint like he wants to instead of just slag on him and give him the three and defend inside, so its basically a mind trick from the coach but it would never work, players will never respect his three until he starts to make them in the game, they will only guard him if he makes a bucket or two from outside and only after that defense will collapse on him.
