Now all the players are saying they don’t want an all star game... Not sure where that came from. You’d think LeBron would want to chase more all star game records while he has the chance. I hope Adam Silver stands his ground and makes them do an all star weekend of some kind. That game has always been for the fans and we need it after how sports have been the last year.

If I'm not mistaken and that topic was discussed here before, prior to the opening of the 2020-21 NBA Season, part of the changes this season is not having an All-Star game, obviously limiting the activity related to the pandemic. I'm really surprised when NBA All-Star voting commenced so I did some research and found no article stating that All-Star will really push through.

What I found is, voting just began but there's no official announcement if there will be an All-Star game. As I also stated in the other thread, maybe the voting was part of the preparation just in case there will be a change of plan if NBA pushes the All-Star game.

I do remember that, so I kinda not expect it as well, but of course everyone wants to see an all star, and the set up now is different from the last season which was a bubble, so if they will host an all star, I think nothing would really change since these teams have traveled to play just like the old set up, the only difference is the limited audience compared to the usual (before covid-19).

Durant might be out for a while but with their standing now, I think they can still get into the playoffs even with Harden and Irving only leading the team.
With this crucial situation we are, every protocol should be followed and NBA has to be strict in implementing it so this season will be a success.
Interestingly Durant did tested negative as far as we know, and we know he also had Coronavirus when it first started so he should be fine himself but the fear was that he might had been in contact with someone who had corona, but that person didn't even get their results back just yet. So, basically it wasn't even about Durant being with someone who had coronavirus, it was about Durant being with someone who "might" had coronavirus.

I am all fine with extreme measures honestly, if everyone sees what is going on and extreme measures are taken about these things, players could probably act a bit better about it and not take any risks. Durant is a marvelous player but they still have a lot of other great players with Irving and Harden, I am sure if you put those two together they can still get wins, but at the end of the day as long as they make it to playoffs healthy, they are going to be fine.

Kevin Durant just got pulled out of the Nets game for the health and safety protocol after playing the first half. Not a good sign for the players on the floor with him. This has a Rudy Gobert smell to it. We could be seeing these two teams unable to play for a couple weeks if Durant did indeed test positive.
I didn't want the game live but I was curious why his minutes was only limited when I saw the stats report after the game, and I read this news. Durant is probably infected with covid-19, and as a protocol, this team will have to be isolated and maybe other teams as well.

We will have to wait for further update but I think the scenario you point is likely to happen.
Yeah, I was just looking at it now.
He played 19 minutes only.
I was watching the Celtics vs Clippers game and didn't know what happened.
Looks like Covid-19 is hitting a lot of players in the bubble.
I wouldn't be shocked if suddenly they will just pause the season and try to have a mass testing first just to identify where it is coming from.

Very big possibilities that this one will be consider.

The virus needs to trce up, players are not exempt they all needs to have the test and see who are the affected one, this may help
for long term solution instead of tracing them when they already been exposed, much better to lessen the risk exposing more players
and be infected by this pandemic.

Some articles said that he won't be able to travel because of the contract tracing that is happening. I hope this won't be the same as Rudy Gobert. He didn't just pull out once, he was pulled out in a game twice. He was tested three times and still negative, the team needs him. In terms of the protocols of NBA, since he is a close contact,
The team will struggle without him, that's for sure.

His fall looked terrible, but he probably will fine because Houston announced today that Wood has an ankle sprain, not an ankle fracture. I think that he will need a couple of weeks to recover from this injury.

Well great news indeed, at least the injury was not serious that requires operation.

Thanks for the update, I was also worried about this one, here's the news to confirm the status.

Christian Wood diagnosed with sprained right ankle, will be evaluated on weekly basis

I hope it will not happen, pausing the season is like pausing the fun. They can postpone games like what they usually do when there's a covid-19 cases but to pause the season, I think that is too much. I believe the problem is still manageable .

Christian Wood Cries After Breaks His Ankles&Taken Off Court In a Wheelchair !

Quote
Rockets' Christian Wood: Departs in wheelchair
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Wood (ankle) exited the arena Thursday in a wheelchair, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.

Wood was spotted holding crutches while exiting in a wheelchair, perhaps hinting toward the severity of the ankle injury that forced him out of Thursday's game against the Grizzlies. The Rockets haven't yet commented on Wood's injury, or his status for Saturday's contest against the Spurs, but at this point it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see him miss time.

I hope he is fine, and he can come back soon, he played like an all star this season, he knows that a big opportunity is missed if he can't come back soon.

I was able to watch this game. My expectation when the game started is that this is gonna be an easy game for the Mavs and they're playing on their home court.
Mavs underestimated GSW, and as a result, they had huge problems with their offense and defense in the second half of the match. Also, I guess home or guest court doesn't have a strong impact on players because all teams play without fans this season.

How do we know that the Mavs underestimated the GSW?

The odds says Mavs was the favorites to win, but they are not the ones who set the odds, it's the oddsmaker who set that for the bettors, and this time, bookmakers was wrong, probably they are the one who underestimated the GSW, and bettors siding the GSW to win made them pay.

Oubre Jr. did really fired up at the last quarter. While for the Mavs, it's Porzingis that got 25 pts. Is Golden State Warriors back? the standing isn't that back at all.

Your expectations are the same as everyone else as the odds are against the Mavs -4 point spread, and the result was a very unexpected win from the GSW.
I haven't watched the game, but I guess the Warriors may have a chance for the playoffs as they are rebuilding with the young talents they have this season. But they have no chance in winning the championship this season without Klay. So, I should say, the GSW ain't back yet, they're still in a rebuilding process.

-4 at home is not that heavy favorites, you can expect either team to win, especially the Warriors who are doing good this season despite missing KT. Remember, Warriors also beat the Lakers at home, they beat the defending champion, so it's also possible to beat the Dallas Mavericks.

You can skip actually to the start of 4th quarter. Yeah, still don't have Klay but they're winning.

Early to say but to compare on their past performance or season then i can say that this is a bit better and does really have again that kind of calibre that can really go toe to toe
with strong teams. Its just too early to conclude out since we are still on early season.Lets see if on how they would perform out from mid to ending part.

I was expecting for Mavs to have this game and yeah, that was really unexpectable for Oubre Jr. and i believe this one its career high.
Both of you are right. They are becoming better and better for each games that are passing by. They may not be at the best position at this season because of Klay but they're doing their best to become the old GSW that we knew.

That game was really great on the 1st up to 3rd quarter but when the 4th quarter starts Kelly Oubre Jr. just got fired up and Scored 40 pts. on this game, and Draymond Green had 15 assist this game.
