LUOL DENG is a rich guy, he is one good example of an NBA player who knows how to manage his finances.
He is out in basketball, not a problem with him as he already have invested in different business on the money he earn through his career.
Yeah he is rich and wise guy. He spent his money from NBA wisely and a good choice to have it in businesses and real estate.

This made me remember of Iverson who became broke but once then redeemed.

We dont have the rights though on how these players should spent up their money since they've earned it on the first place and also its impossible that they wouldnt be aware on having some investment
when they are still on their career times where they do earn those multi-millions.

Some do managed their finances well and some do spent just like theres no tomorrow or shall we say, unwise spendings but since their their money then its none of our business.

They would only realize that they had done such wrong thing when they do already experience hardships in life when it comes to finances.

I think thanks to many new improvements in the NBPA, we will no longer see retired players who will be poor type of situation. They have provided so much for the league so they will not be left alone neither. So for the past some years, there has been some system where retired players get free healthcare for example, there was a requirement of games I believe but as soon as you sign a contract you are definitely considered in because even if you didn't play you had a contract for possible playing and there is a cut for it. Long story short we will never hear players who are out on the streets and homeless like it is 1950's. Even Iverson one of the most famous basketball players in the world had to go around the world and play in european teams and so forth in order to make his money back because he lost all he earned from NBA before he was even retired.

He made a very clever investment. Some basketball players play at NBA for many years and lose all their money within a few years after retiring. Even if he doesn't play basketball in his future life, he will have an enjoyable life Cheesy
I'm sure many basketball players also make bitcoin or similar investments Smiley

The salary cap deal was the issue for Lakers. When you make a deal with any player, you have to keep paying that player for the guaranteed amount without question, there is no way you can avoid that. However Lakers wanted to get Deng out of the salary cap and that way they could have signed another player, the aim wasn't to pay him nothing, they have to, that was never the intention to begin with.

There are many many players who got paid a ton of money they do not deserve in NBA, and the sad thing is, they do end up getting paid but they also end up getting away from the league as well. They just take the money and they know that if they resign and look for another team they could actually get minutes, they will be paid 1/10 or even less so they end up staying with huge contract and a lot of money which everyone would prefer, but get no minutes anymore basically being retired by force.

NBA free agency: Tristan Thompson signing with Celtics on two-year, $19 million deal, per report
Damn, I missed this one.
I really thought James will try to talk with Lakers management about signing Thompson but instead, they took Marc Gasol.
There was that tweet from James that looked like a sign that he will pull Tristan to the Lakers but maybe it's for a different purpose.

Good news for Luol Deng.
Laker's application to remove him from their salary paycheck has been denied by the NBA management.
So, it means that Deng will earn $10mln for the next two seasons.
Yes.

Lakers has to pay him whether he plays or not.

Good news for Luol Deng.

Lakers management trying to acquire more money and maybe brewing a new plan to add in their strong roster.
Well, that's normal if you want back to back championships.
They're up for something but I think this decision won't change that whatever plans they have.

Good decision by the management of Heat, otherwise many teams are going to be interested on him because of his showing in the finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

A young player like him has so much to improve, he was already an all star so it says the is really good as a player. What he showed during the playoffs and how the Heat surprised the teams in the East, it's more than enough to convince the management to give him a max salary.

Hopefully his improvement will continue and it's only possible if he takes care of his body.

We don't want to see anther Thompson here, this guy though not similar with Thompson but he is so valuable on his team.

Good for Golden State.

I will also say Yay for Bam here. A big part of Miami's offense and defense, so he is a double treat and very young and yes, more wiggle room to improve, perimeter jump shot, probably need more muscle to help him deal with big power forwards and centers in the NBA. Good decision by the management of Heat, otherwise many teams are going to be interested on him because of his showing in the finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Another rookie max contract, Bam Adebayo’s five-year, $163M contract extension with Miami Heat.

And it could push to $195 million if he meets certain criteria like making an All-NBA team. He is the third player, behind Mitchell and Tatum his fellow 2017 draftee to have reached a max contract extension.

Your thoughts? Yay or Nay?
Yay. If there is an award for the most improved player in the bubble of 2020 then it will be him.
He's 23 and he has still a lot of room for improvement.  He ain't even in his prime yet. This is just the start of his race.
I'd do the same if I am the Heat management. I won't sacrifice giving him a little money and be stolen by another team.

Adebayo deserved this contract because this big man has averaged a double-double per game during the playoff series. I mean that Miami Heat believes in Bam's potential. Smiley

He is not really a real big man, he is only listed at 6 ft 9 in unlike other legit big man with a height of 7 ft above, however, he is doing great in that position and the Miami heat have seen his contribution to his team, so he was given this good contract.

I agree with the Adebayo contract, it might sound ridiculous, but the guy really deserved every penny specially on the way he contributed to Miami reaching the finals, just falling short of the championship because of LeBron James.

The Lakers have re-signed Kostas Antetokounmpo to another two-way contract. He is now their lucky charm of the team.  Smiley

Yay, BAM's hardwork has just been paid off with his monstrous contract, I'm pretty sure he is happy now and the management too. He all have the athleticism and talent of a star player, in the long run he will improve as long as he keeps himself healthy, not bad move by the Heat.

That's how you keep a talent.
Now, what the Heat needs is to acquire legit big man. One of the notable acquisition from them in free agency was Avery Bradley. The guy could help from both ends of the floor and does a very good impact on the defensive end.
I'm hoping to see more from the Heat this season, but with the current roster they have right now, I don't think they'll win a championship this year, specially when the Brooklyn Nets are fully recovered now. I mean the Nets are a serious threat from the East this 2021 season.

You can really see on what they do lack if you do observe into their finals performance when it comes to paint offense/defense which they are really overwhelmed by Lakers.

They do need to patch it up so that they would really be a great contender for the next playoffs and in regards with Adebayo with that contract amount then i can say that it is just
worth and keeping him on the team is a good move.

Are there any rumors who is the big man they will signed?

If I'm not mistaken, Heat has been playing small ball in the last playoffs and it worked on some teams but not against the Lakers, so they would still fail if they will stick with the current line up. So I'm thinking if maybe there's still good big man now that is in free agency where they can sign.
