Are there Kyrie Irving fans out there? let's appreciate this guy's golden heart and care for the other athletes, mainly the WNBA players.
Kyrie Irving commits $1.5M for WNBA players skipping season

I totally forgot about this. WNBA season supposedly starts this month of June.

So they decided not to pursue the season like going in a bubble, same with NBA. A good choice too although sacrificing the league's revenue, players, and staff's salary.

After Kyrie Irving, I think there will be more players that will do the same.

Wow, I have read the article and Kyrie Irving has moved me, he is considered one of the best ball handlers in the NBA. Very well said he is a guy with a golden heart! In the NBA there are many concerns such as social justice, playing basketball, etc. Without a doubt there will be players who feel affected, physically and psychologically.

Holy crap!

https://www.nba.com/article/2020/07/19/lebron-james-rookie-card-sold-18m-auction
Quote
LeBron James set another record Saturday night when his 2003-04 Upper Deck rookie card sold for $1.845 million at Goldin Auctions.

How about that?! We are in pandemic and he is still alive.  Grin
Lebron's autographs price is going to be expensive in 20 more years.
How about his rookie shoes? Where are they? Gotta find it!

Quote
It's the most expensive basketball card ever purchased and the priciest trading card of any kind in the modern era (since 1980).
For the most part I do not recommend people to buy sports memorabilia since the prices change very rapidly, however in the case of LeBron it is obvious his stuff is going to keep being valuable during the next decades so if you can get some of his stuff for a good price and then hold it for a decade then you can earn good money, in a way this is similar to what we are already doing with bitcoin so it should not be weird for anyone on the forum to try to make money this way.
I never thought it that way.
Thanks for the reminder.
I have a friend that has been doing this for a very long time but he does not collect sports memorabilia but toys and music records and he has been getting very important profits all over those years, and he basically follows the same strategy that we as bitcoin holders use, he finds a toy or record that he knows will be valuable in the future and buys some of it, then he holds it for a decade or until the market for what he is holding goes up and then sells for 5x up to 10x profits, and just like bitcoin many people that listen how he earns money refuse to believe him.

Clippers’ Lou Williams will have 10-day quarantine on Orlando campus after picking up food at Magic City on excused absence — sidelining him through first two seeding games — NBA says.

Again, discipline is a mandatory for them to avoid this kind of events.

That dude is careless Sad. Games are just starting yet, and here comes the guy ruining the entire operation, damn. He should be banned from bubble (is it unfair?). What he did is a serious offense, and must be dealt with accoridingly, so nobody would screw around ever again. You know, gotta need to set an example.

By the way, he wasn't picking up any food, I think? worse, he was partying. Strange 'cause he just attended a funeral then he would be spotted in a strip club, selfish Lou  Sad.

I will interpret, "that means they will get the ring", LOL...

I believe with him healthy in the playoffs, Clippers will be a good contender too as his energy in the floor could make the Clippers team better.
Maybe this is the time that Doc will get another championship because he get rid of his son.  Cheesy
There it goes, now Questat's wish is granted.  Grin
We are talking about Clippers now.

Harrell news was a good one.
But to equal it, there is also bad news.

Clippers' Lou Williams investigated by NBA about actions while on leave
and because of that..

If they lose, there will be more discussion  that Lebron's team tanks again.
I'm wondering why people are not discussing the Clippers, all eyes on Lebron, how about kawhi here, so unfair.

Correct. It's like they already decided who the champion is.
As I look at the Clippers roster, it's like a complete group of defenders.
It won't be easy to break this guys.
Beverly, PG13, Kawhi, Harrell. Names known for their hardcore defensive methods which is the vice versa of the Lakers.
If they will meet in West Finals, there is no telling which will really win, unless something happens which we don't expect. i.e. virus
The good thing about now is they are complete since Harrell will be returning now on the bubble and look what he tweeted it's really intimidating. Still betting on Clippers and so far on the scrimmage they are in 2 wins straight without Harrel, well, it's just still scrimmage the most anticipating one would be on 31st of July.

I watched the highlighted games of Lakers and Mavs which only make Lakers play like they don't really have the usual energy they got on the game. The only reason might be they just saving their energy for the real games which will gonna happened a few days ago from now. They need to get back on track or their dream championship will only fall in jeopardy. Honestly, if they don't get any championship in this season their team will be a laughing stock again.
Well, that is the purpose of the scrimmage, just to heat them up.
But it's also better to showcase some of their skills since fans are excited now. Lakers just avoided injuries.  Grin
If Lakers won't get this championship? Another overhaul in their roster.
At first try, I think they don't need to, but it depends also on how the game is played.
For example, they reached the NBA finals, and they got sweep by their opponent, then that would surely call for an overhaul. Grin

Well, being a laughing stock is pretty usual on whatever team wouldn't get the ring. Lakeshow became more interesting to make fun of, because Bron was there in which everybody had their eyes on. The guy has a lot of haters  Undecided.
I don't think they will be discussed much after another team wins the championship, what will be talked about are the champions.
Then, the next season where the rookies, Giannis, Ben, draft picks will be analyzed.

"Report: Tom Thibodeau Finalizing Five-Year Deal With Knicks" - source

Some outside of the bubble news, Knicks are reportidly hiring Tom Thibodeau to be their head coach for the next 5 years.
Contract in not yet finalized but from what i'm hearing it's a done deal.

Personally, i don't like the fit here, Tibs couldn't mash with Towns, Wiggins and LaVine, then as a GM cooked up a horrible trade giving so much for a half a season with Jimmy Butler. Knicks have a bunch of young dudes, just like Wolves did, imo Mike Woodson or Kenny Atkinson would've been a better choice.

What do you think, Thibodeau good fit for the Knicks or it doesn't matter who the head coach is as long as Dolan is still there?  Grin

Great news for the Knicks fans, we know Tom Thibodeau is a quality coach, but hopefully the management would also listen to him in terms of getting players that could help the team to grow. The current line up, I am not so confident that they'll even become a playoff team, even with Tom Thibodeau coaching them. Get more reliable stars, and this team can be competitive, just like what Nets have done when they get Kyrie and Durant.

I love how Toronto and Houston played a speed game.

If they are going to be a laughing stock though? Yes they have a solid team right now but anything can still happen even if they have Lebron James. They can still improve if they don't won the ring this year and chance and adjust the roster again. And I do agree, maybe they are reserving their energy for the real games in the next coming days that's why they are not pushing against Magic. But the defence is still there for the Lakers, just to be fair.

Reimagining how NBA fans and teams experience the game of basketball with Together mode in Microsoft Teams

Starting July 30, the NBA will outfit each game court with 17-foot-tall LED screens that wrap three sides of the arena. These “stands” will be populated with more than 300 cheering fans who will join the game using Together mode in Teams. Alongside a view of their fellow fans, participants can watch a live feed of the game right within Teams.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2020/07/24/reimagining-teams-experience-basketball-microsoft-teams/
So this is like a livefeed for the watchers as they watch the game. The picture on the article gives the idea that they will be the live audience through the app of Microsoft as they will live it with a huge monitor in the courtside. Well, this is much better than having nothing but how will be the sound mechanics of it if most of the audiences talk at the same time?

Definitely this is a new experience, but in my side, I'm sure I'll only be watching in my TV, looking forward to the best experience and hopefully that no crowd game would not destroy the entertainment value of team.Honestly, i was not able to sink in the information yet, not a techy person, I will just look how it's done.
Everyone's going to watch it. We've missed NBA a lot and whichever team shall have a match, we'll support the league as always. Even with the little that we can do through simply watching it on our TVs, paid or free TV, that's how we can show our support to them.
I'm excited to see how those screens have different faces. I used to see this only on video games.

When teams have 5 on 5 on their practice games, it is never same as real game, real game will always be harder, and when teams have preseason it is not a real game like regular season but it is definitely better than doing 5 on 5 at practice within the team, and when teams play playoff games it is never like regular season they play a lot better in playoffs. So, in about 20 days period we saw the teams at practice, we are seeing them at preseason, we will see them on regular season and we will see them at playoffs.

Teams will gear up a lot higher and a lot quicker right in these 3 weeks, it is going to be different and weird but will be awesome to see this closely. I am 100% sure that Lakers are trying some new stuff, but when it comes playoff time they will bring out Lebron and just destroy everything on their path.

I guess so too. But earlier, their game against Magic, Lakers seemed to be a bit different. Kuz was really explosive, bench players are now even stepping up. Not sure, if Magic wasn't doing well, or is it just, LA was a bit too good for 'em Huh. But whatever, it is still just a scrimmage after all, just sort of conditioning LOL.

It seems Pelicans have the same aggressive style with no defense at all but going full attack mode all the time so no wonder why they score a lot and I remember teams saying that you must focus on defend when you playing against them  Grin.

Today we have Mavs against Pacers so lets see if Mavs can keep up 2 games at the same pace against 2 great teams ( Lakers and now Pacers )

I just finished watching the highlights of the Pelicans vs. Nuggets scrimmage.
I can say they are now combining their strengths.
Everyone is contributing and being aggressive on the floor especially Jrue Holiday even though he just went in for short minutes.

How about Jaxson Hayes and Frank Jackson?
This two guys are really something else. They are already pumped up even if it's just scrimmage.
Want to see more of this guys offense when the season starts.

Mike Miller, I'm surprise, this was a Miami heat player, right?  Was it his first coaching job if ever accepted? And wait, where's Jason kidd here?
Actually we have the same thought but I experienced that a year ago.  Grin
Mike Miller the player, did push a coaching career but did resign.

They never change, that's why if you are betting, go with the over, especially if you think they will dictate the pace.

Mavs is always fun to watch, they are healthy now so it's good to see, if they beat the Lakers, for sure they can beat the Pacers, but this is a scrimmage game, not expecting a serious play.
