Spur might miss the playoffs this time, no L.A for the team, so definitely this short handed team has a very less chance of qualifying.

Shorthanded Spurs in danger of losing longest active playoff streak in major sports

Quote
THE San Antonio Spurs will try to extend the longest active playoff streak in North American major sports without LaMarcus Aldridge and with a decent mathematical chance to sneak into the final postseason spot in the Western Conference.

What's your take on this, should be already declare them out of the playoff picture?

This year's season will surely be different. I am looking forward to the games to begin so I can start betting again. Last  year the NBA Consensus Picks helped me make a decent amount of money and I hope that this year will at least half as productive as the last one. I have never thought that betting on sports would be something that I'd like. The point is not lose yourself and get carried away, when you see that you keep losing the best thing to do is to take a pause and do something else, this way a lot of money can be saved.

I am firstly looking of some action on the court because it is something which has being missing from so long time and once the game begins, we will be able to cut boredom which has filled in due to no matches being played. Secondly comes gambling part which some of them would be placing bets on their favourite’s teams. Sports betting are something which you can sort of predict to an extent about players or about team as against their opponent.

I think Blazers now are a healthy team, they could possibly get into the playoffs. What do think fellas?

Actually, Jusuf Nurkić is expected to return for the Blazers last March but the NBA canceled their season because of the pandemic.

He is one of the good role players in the Blazers team in terms of offense and defense. His comeback might bring hope to the Blazers fans that playoff chance is still possible.

And with the new format, they can at least target the 9th spot for a play-in tournament with the 8th. The higher the better of course but that will be difficult.

With him their interior will be much better, Whiteside now got someone from his back  their combo inside will help the guards, role players

like Nurkic really add a lots for his team, they've got a good spot last season before he suffered from his injury.

The coaching staff has to manage their time properly so both will play effectively in the floor.

I think they won't play together, they have the same position, both playing center, so one of them will be a starter and other will be a reserve or a 2nd unit, imagine how good their interior defense is as both players are very active inside, Whiteside is a good blocker and Whileside makes points in the inside, they'll be unpredictable with Nurkic back in the line up.

- NBA put several screens in the arena, making the arena dark around so players somehow don't feel empty.
This is right.
It's like the arena is lacking in contrast and brightness and you could notice it in the video too.
- Players' bench area is three rows of socially distanced seats for players when they are not on the floor.
Why would they even distance them if after every quarters or a good dunk they will get close and do handshakes and other things?
- The usual chant or music of the home-team will be heard on the game. Yes, even playing in the same arena, there are still home and away teams as usual.
Which is cool. They still want the home team to feel at home. But, it looks like it doesn't work.  Grin
- The banners or everything related to the home team will be placed on LED boards to turned the arena into their home court.
- About the number of audiences, on the recent Clippers vs Magic scrimmage match, there are around 200 spectators composed of staff, media, etc.
So who will disturb the freethrow shooter now?  Grin Commentator said it will just be chants and boos.

To sum it up.
The players did good.
They played like it was a real game already and not a scrimmage. That's the good thing about this.
Edit: For Mavs and Lakers. I haven't watched the other games yet.

Blazers are quite close to actually make it to playoffs. They are going to also have a chance that if they are withing certain amount of games (was it 4?) that means they could go to playoffs at 8th seed. Now that means they would probably play Lakers and I do not think that Lakers would be an easy task, they are looking to be working out pretty well and they are going to actually have a great playoffs if you ask me, but at least making to 8th seed means playing 4 more games than teams who are not at playoffs. Portland just has to realize that even though they are not a bad team, they are just mediocre and can't make to finals, they just have to find a way to rebuild and try once again later.

Good news, Nurkic is back and has already played during the scrimmage game scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds in 20 minutes of action.

Portland (88) vs Pacers ( 91)
This is really a good news, I didn't see the game but hopefully I'll be able to watch some highlights in youtube.
Nurkic has been a key for the success of the Blazers, if he will be fully healthy again, I think we will be seeing a good fight in the West for the last spot.

I check the box score, I also saw collins, number, glad to know he is back also.

They are because key players are back healthy, but we can't be too confident with what we are seeing, first, they loss in this game, and 2nd the real game does not start yet.

After the scrimmage, some players voiced out their observations about the new changes they will expect once the NBA officially resumed the season.

Here are some:

- NBA put several screens in the arena, making the arena dark around so players somehow don't feel empty.
- Players' bench area is three rows of socially distanced seats for players when they are not on the floor.
- The usual chant or music of the home-team will be heard on the game. Yes, even playing in the same arena, there are still home and away teams as usual.

How is it 16 days? I do not get it. Teams needs to play 8 games per team first, after that there will be playoffs which is 7 game series right? How could it be 16 days? Is that just the regular season? If that is so, that means 1 game per 2 days and just game-rest-game-rest-game-rest for 8 games and 16 days and that is dangerous for many players.

Big teams will probably rest most of their stars because they are already in the playoffs and they know that but they could get some big injury upset if they play 16 games straight with just one day breaks, remember when last year Lebron pushed himself to play more minutes and more games and he got injured, those type of stuff could definitely happen if you push players to their limits. Hopefully teams will have a healthy regular season and go to playoffs as a whole roster.

I don't have more information about it, but my guess, we will be able to watch a live game since it's being air weekdays.

The NBA Premium HD as well is being added at channel One Sports & TV5.

I will watch it at TV five, we are only using a free coverage television channels which has some limited channels. Thankfully TV5 got it and we still have about a week to wait for the games. I hope they will gonna play well after what happened. of course I gonna watch the Lakers and Clippers game. The others will only be available on the other channels I think. Anyway, thanks for sharing it for us. I'm looking forward to watch it with my friends.

I'm not sure you'll be able to watch the Lakers and Clippers game in TV5, it says the coverage will be weekends only but the game schedule of this two is not in weekend. I think i'll just watch through online streaming if possible,

I quick news for us: NBA bubble games will be air on cable channel One Sports during weekdays and on free tv via TV5 during weekends.

Even if Zion completes that 8 game tournament it will be Ja Morant.
If Zion wins, NBA just proved there is deep politics in the damn management.
There is nothing to consider anymore or if they do, they will lose a lot of fans.
Fairness is still better than just making money.
Ja worked hard for it putting the Grizzlies in the 8th rank.

Yeah, there's nothing much to talk about between the two. Their race for ROTY were already finished even Zion had already played his remaining regular season game. Effort, and impact to the team wise? Ja is on the edge here. We won't even be able to see a good, competitive Grizzlies if you would take out Ja on the roster, just my two cents   Tongue.

Even if he creates a lot of impact for the last 8 games and luckily wins the 8th seed, that should not change the fact for efforts done by Ja for the whole season.

Speaking of Zion.
https://www.nba.com/pelicans/news/zion-williamson-update-072220
He is still being tested even if he is away for emergency matters.
This is good.
NBA is making effort to continue supporting players even if you go outside the bubble.
Somehow they don't care even with how much it will cost them. Good news indeed.

Not officially, but tommorow would be the announcement.
I had the black box but I cannot receive a good signal for searching the TV5 channel.
I think there is a manual input for the frequency if you cannot search it.

Try this: 695143 or 695.143 MHz (TV5 channel)

It looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves has been made available for sale by their owner Glen Taylor. There have been rumors that there is a chance that the team might relocate to Seattle if some suitors will be interested buying it but the current owner of the Timberwolves had made it clear that his only condition was to make the Timberwolves stay at Minnesota so the only clear options named right now is either the Wilf brothers or their former player, Kevin Garnett. The former one might be the likely candidate for the takeover as they are also the owners of the Minnesota Vikings which might make Taylor be confident that the team will really stay in the state.
Kind of in a jumble now.
Before, it was Seattle SuperSonics and then moved to Oklahoma.
Now, they might get Timberwolves.
So, it will become Seattle Timberwolves? It doesn't sound right.  Grin
Better use the old name.

Wait, what the heck!??  Grin. Yeah... it doesn't feel right. I dunno, but it really sound different. Yeah, better use the old name or much better something related to the city's history.

Well, anyway, it is cool to see Supersonics team back in the league again (if this would really happen), and at the same time it is sad if Timberwolves team would completely vanish. I mean, the name of the team itself, not the roster though  Grin.

Good thing I found it while searching in Youtube and surprised JaVale McGee has a Youtube channel and documented some of the thing there, love to see some action now. Cheesy
Found this a week ago and I had completed watching the series.
It was fun watching players reactions to different new things they bump into.  Grin
Watch Matisse Thybulle vlog too, it's better than JaVale.  Cheesy

Since ABS' shutdown, I am just waiting for this.

I've been waiting for some announcements in One Sports, did I miss it? Though that would might not be the complete games since they just show picked games and the other are not on air. I guess I'll just wait for the lives in YouTube and other sites.

Completely agree here but before that, let's enjoy the sports we really missed.
