Do they remain the favorite to win the title this season?

As of now in our favorite sportsbook, the LA Lakers is still the favorites to win an NBA championship.

Check on this site, https://nitrogensports.eu/sport/Basketball/NBA%20-%20Futures, they currently have the betting open.

Nothing's changed, LA Lakers still the heavy favorite to win.. I think I like the Denver Nuggets odds, who among you here guys that have put a bet on the NBA futures between high odds team like the Nuggets, Mavericks and the Raptors, of course the depending champion, we should not underestimate their line up.

~snip~

There is always the next year. It's still better to be healthy and alive rather than being ashes in an urn.

Ohh, this a bit too harsh  Grin. NBA players are young and healthy so if they got the virus, they will just dust it off, i think.

I'm excited for NBA's return and i'm preparing some crypto's for the betting but somehow worried because landscape will drastically change.

Do you think that Lebron James and the Lakers will keep the same intensity that they had before the lockdown considering that LBJ was vocal against playing on a crowd less arena? Do they remain the favorite to win the title this season?

Also, for us bettors, it's not only our time to enjoy watching again but our time to enjoy betting as well.

Of course, the excitement in betting will begin once the NBA will resume.

We can make this gambling thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091185.2600 active once again.

The first game will be on July 30 and when I think of that everyday, it seems I am already waiting it for too long.
I think we can also make a good discussion now about the NBA Futures since covid-19 will certainly become a factor to affect its outcome.
As for me, I'll look for a heavy dog with good odds which I think has a great chance to upset the best teams in the NBA now.

Hahaha
Those memes are really funny.  Grin
First time I saw it and it was hilarious.
JR Smith back in the spotlight. I guess he is having a good time looking at all the discussion about him.

That's for sure, and he already know that since he will soon be back in the NBA, consider that as a welcome message from the fans and the haters, Grin

Back to the positive test of players.
It is growing and no doubt it will grow more.
1st to 7th seed won't have to worry about it. But those who are aiming for the 8th seed and defending it cannot afford more players to be tested positive or they will have a difficult time defending the throne or reaching it.

There is always the next year. It's still better to be healthy and alive rather than being ashes in an urn.

Once the season resume, every team will play their best as it's not only about them, it's also their mission to entertain the fans.
I mean the world is struggling right now, them playing again will certainly put a smile to the NBA fans and it might ease our burden a bit.

Also, for us bettors, it's not only our time to enjoy watching again but our time to enjoy betting as well.

Still remember this meme?

Crossed fingers.

Kidding aside.
What JR Smith was a costly mistake, they could have taken that game and who knows it might change how the series goes.
Anyway, that would just part of the history, hopefully JR will make up that mistake by helping bron take the team to the championship.
JR Smith is an experienced playoffs/championship veteran player and we can't let that fact. Cheesy

The meme's had already started, lol..
I hope the same scenario will not happen again, Lakers needs to win a championship so as Lebron to continue adding his achievement to his legacy.
Davis as well is desperate, he wants to get his first championship so maybe he will work hard for that this season.

The first round might be easy for them, but after that, it would be a different game, though they will be heavily favored but it's not the East that Lebron will easily dominate, the best teams are in the West, so bigger challenge.

They are already short-handed this season so I think it's better not to push for the goal. So unfortunate and they have nothing to do.
That's what I've been saying earlier, this season could be a perfect opportunity for some big surprise, due covid-19. You never know which team will be affected, and what is most problematic is that if one player gets tested positive, chances are he gave it to few others, like in Spencer Dinwiddie and DeAndre Jordan case. Now imagine that happening to Lakers, either LJ or Durant getting positive during playoff series means their chances for title go down a lot. Same goes for Clippers, Bucks and few other contenders. If Bogdanovic stayed healthy, I would put few bucks on Jazz, since Mitchell and Gobert already had the corona.

Any team that wins title this year will need quite a lot of luck.

It's very evident, when we first saw Jr Smith in L.A biking together with AD and Bron, then the video JR messing up with the guy in the protest. I already had a thought that he will be playing with the Lakers when the NBA resumes.
Jr Smith isn't bad at all anyway, just a single mistake in the finals and people just crucified him for what he have done.
I know it's a crucial game, but anyone could be mistaken.
I'm looking forward for a good chemistry with Jr in the roster.
Lebron is bringing his friends to play with him.

I think you are right, they are friends in real life, there's an article LBJ and Davis spotted with JR Smith in LA.

Watch: Lakers Fan Spots LeBron James, Anthony Davis & JR Smith Riding Bikes In L.A.

There's also a video that Lebron James was working out with JR Smith.

here you we can see - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utagUvOvVBI (video was uploaded last year and JR Smith that time was off contract with any team)

They are already short-handed this season so I think it's better not to push for the goal. So unfortunate and they have nothing to do.

But the good thing is, their remaining players will able to test their skills without their main gunners at the playoffs if they can able to maintain their current W/L record.

Prepare and come back next season as a newly improved team now that their star players will now play.

They are still at the 7th spot, but I agree. Nets don't need to push hard without DeAndre in the court and just let their remaining and young players gain some experiences for this season and come back stronger with fully rested KD.

Nets remaining players better make it to the players as the best they can do, so they can come back next season even stronger with KD. But they need to hold out first onto that No. 7 spot in East.

That's a problem if they can hold that, I'm pretty sure they will struggle now that both starters will not play and it's still uncertain if Irving would also play.
Without their best players, this team is like the old days, they will struggle, believe me.

On JR Smith signing with the Lakers, not sure if it's a good news, I'll leave that up to you guys to judge.

The Lakers has a big chance to reach in the WCF, then the Finals if they will be more successful, but they will not be facing the warriors anymore, lol.. so I think he will not messed up this time, and I also think he won't get the average minutes he is getting in Cleveland Cavaliers.

I think JR Smith will again play in the NBA with Lebron, they are friends in real life I guess so since Lebron can influence the management, he can get JR Smith. Let's give him a chance, what we see is just his mistake but he also has a lot of good contribution in the court, defensive and offensive requirement, this guy has.

So I would say in advance, welcome to LA JR Smith.

Oh man. What an unfortunate news for Brooklyn Nets team and fans out there.

Nets' DeAndre Jordan tests positive for coronavirus, will not join team at Disney

We will see if the remaining players can at least bring their team to the playoffs.

I think a lot of surprises will happen in this playoffs, most of them will be related to corona virus and team's chances especially those who are heavily favored might be affected once there's a star player that will be tested positive, also there's no assurance that they will be free from the virus once the season resume, they could still be infected and that's the effect I'm saying.

Just too bad for the Nets, both starters were tested positive. The offense and defense guys will not play.

Nuggets have mathematical chance at 1 seed in Western Conference

"Denver also has a mathematical chance at the No. 1 seed out West – but would need to go 8-0 and have the Lakers go 0-8 for that to happen"

I will give a 0% chance for this to happen.

Unfortunately, another star player added in the list of players positive in covid-19.

Here's the story.

Nets' Spencer Dinwiddie Tested Positive for COVID-19; NBA Restart Status Unclear

Bad news, indeed.  Undecided
One of their offensive guys and also plays with a hustle.
If Irving will not play then it will depend on LeVert and Harris. They will be forced to push more offense for the team if they still want to win games from the 8 game tournament before Dinwiddie goes back for the playoffs.
Also hoping he could survive the sickness.

I don't think so.  Grin
If pressure sinks in, he could mess up with any team they are against.  Cheesy
