I can't believe such sneakers will value that high, oh my God $560,000 just for a sneakers, I would not even but it at $1000,, seriously... my shoes is just around $100 and less, but I understand it's MJ but I just can't believe people are willing to spend that much.

Man, there are still a lot of things that the sports collection cost more than that. For us, that's a huge amount, but for the rich people, I guess spending money from unnecessary things is their hobby lol Cheesy.
Even the towel that MJ used on his last game in Chicago maybe cost around thousands of dollars.
And it's really crazy coz they ain't wearin it, It will just be hanged on the wall for display.

That's how crazy this world is, a lot of stuff going on especially for the rich that the poor ones might not able to understand, thing is, the poor people are just focus on their needs while the rich don't have a problem wit that, they are just busy spending their money. And also, you like to earn a lot of money because you want to to buy everything you like to satisfy yourself, and that includes buying stuff like that, well, it's your money, you can spend how you like it to be spent.

You're lucky to watch it live. I didn't.  Cry
It is worth to watch it even now, all games are available on YouTube, albeit in poor quality. I started watching those games again, today I watched the 1st one, and plan is to watch one each day. It was incredibly close series  as all games (except game 2 that was completely crazy ) ended up within 5 points difference. I forgot how good Utah was, they were as good as Bulls (only team that Bulls didn't beat in the regular season) and series could have gone either way. It is a shame that they never won a title.

If I remember correctly it was 5-0 at the season. Bulls didn't even win 1 and that made the Bulls players and fans worry.

The Last Dance is a great sports documentary explained by its own protagonist. It is the most great thing that I can admire. Michael Jordan brings emotions to life in every scene, is the magic of reliving the best plays of the great basketball legend. The best in spectacle that we are celebrating in this time of crisis of the year 2020.

Is it Laimbeer or Salley who said it. There is like a blueprint which had already been created by NBA management.
Bird, Magic and then Jordan.
They want to stop that. It gives them more will to take the Bulls down.  Grin

If you look at it deeply, it looks like a series in Netflix with drama, comedy and action.  Grin

Hardcore sports collectors are all rich.

The amount is nothing once they get the item. It's either a success or achievement or business in the future

In 10-30 years, as long as the condition is maintained, or MJ meets the other life (no offense meant), that shoes might be put again in auction for future collectors.

I wonder what would be the value of that shoes after 30 years if its properly maintained, lol... that should increase but I hope the owner will not anymore sell it, keeping if its really an achievement then the buyer should just keep the shoes himself and stop thinking of selling it again since money is not anymore a problem.

There's a thing called "collectors agreement". Not because of the money but sometimes, they can't pass it to some family or friends that don't have an idea of how to maintain an important collection. Whatever those shoes made of, it will fade in 30 years if not taken care of properly.

Once the collector got old and if they really care for the item, they will look to others that have the ability to take care of it.

Do not think of it like it is a sneaker, you are not buying it to wear or something, you are not paying for the "shoe", it doesn't have to be shoe at all, ..

You are correct. Items sold in any auction or collector's item shouldn't be compared to normal things.

Do not think of it like it is a sneaker, you are not buying it to wear or something, you are not paying for the "shoe", it doesn't have to be shoe at all, there has been nba champions who literally sold their rings for either personal or charity reasons as well, you think people bought them to wear those rings? This is basically just a collectible that will worth a lot in the future. Michael Jordan will always be Jordan, even 50 years from now he will be Jordan. So the more time passes the more money it will worth. Of course seller made the optimum amount of profit right now when Last Dance was airing, but that doesn't mean buyer won't make money, maybe for few years now it may not worth this much, but in 10 years it will probably go for 1 million anyway due to inflation as well as scarcity. So both parties won in this.

One thing that bothered me a lot was lack of Kukoc, that dude played amazingly and very efficiently during the Jazz games yet there was a ton of Steve Kerr talk, even Kerr's early childhood when Kerr had 11 points on that game while Kukoc played with 11/13 for 30 points that game scoring more than even Jordan when he got nothing.
Yep, that bothered me as well that documentary was more focused on hype than on being objective and giving some players deserved credit, especially Kukoc. In those Finals series  against Utah he was almost as important to Bulls as Pippen was, yet they barely mentioned him. Steve Kerr was almost irrelevant there, scoring 3.8 pts on average in those games, but he is now very popular as GSW coach, so creators decided to capitalize that and get extra attention. It is a very good basketball documentary but just for that i simply can't call it the best, Hoop Dreams (1994) still holds that title.

Piece of trivia that was confirmed by Phil: in that game 5, when Kukoc was top scorer with 30 pts, and Jazz leading 83:81, Phil wanted for Kukoc to take that last shot as he knew that Jazz wil focus their defense on MJ. They made play for him, but ball ended up with Jordan and he tried that contested shot, that wasn't even close.

Watched the last episodes of The last dance and I think this was the best basketball documentary that was ever made, not that there are tons of them out there in the wild right now, but it is definitely the best of them. It was also amazing for Netflix to have some sort of deal as well that we had it on netflix after it was aired in USA as well since we are outside of USA and would have made it very terrible to wait for it to legally exist, so we would have to download torrents and all.

In 10 - 20 years than might double the price or maybe more. As long as the authenticity is safe then he will have no problem at all.
Unless some scandal happens, price will most certainly  go up. Sports memorabilia is usually good investment, and due inflation by keeping cash all you do is loose money, and in let's say 20 years, it will add up to decent amount.
Scandal means, Jordan dying with unnatural cause?  Grin Knock on wood.
I still think it will. That is something that tells history of basketball.
Someone out there would want that someday, maybe to donate in a museum if he is too damn rich.

I tried to not read the last part of your posts Rika.
My instincts tell me that it will be another spoiler from the first line of it.  Grin
No worries, there are no spoilers there, just an anecdote from 1998.
Oh thank God!
It's because of this which is why I didn't continue reading.  Grin
I just finished watching last 2 episodes of the documentary,

During that Finals series, we had to go on high school trip and stay at some crappy bungalows for 4 days, and that would mean missing out on 2 games. 6-7 of us that were really into NBA wanted to cancel the trip, but since it was already paid, parents forced us to go.  So in order to watch those games ( I think game 2 and game 3), one friend brought with him small portable 10" TV that he took from his grandpa. Improvise, adapt and overcome!

You're still young though, as I'm already working that time, and I did watch some clips of the highlights in the internet that time. I was fairly young with this internet thingy, but someone show me where to see it so I will try to look at it whenever the boss is not looking. Then going home smiling having watch the game and can't wait to tell my buddies about my experience. I will watch the last 2 episodes later and I'm sure it will bring back memories as well.
Haha, it's been a  while since someone called me young as I am almost 40 yo, it feels good Cheesy . But yeah, there was alot of hype back then, we all  heard the rumors that it might be their last season together, so no one wanted to miss any game.

It might be also for investment purposes.
We don't know the reasons behind it but this is like a collectors item now.

Could skyrocket in value someday.

The holder of this shoes has to invest also on the maintenance of the place where this shoes will be store and the shoes itself, shoes has to look like its original look and what's important to take care is the signature of the shoes. Damn, if this will be valued $1 million in the future, the current own might enjoy a huge profit.

Damn, that's crazy price, but is also smart decision by seller, The Last Dance generated a lot of hype around MJ once again. Since he bought those sneakers back in 2012, he probably made a nice profit on them. Buyer probably sees it as an investment, as those things are usually  bought for that purpose.

A wise move to the buyer too.
Buy it while its cheap.

I hope in one month from now, NBA will resume.

Risky if 1 month from now. Weekly death toll average in the US is crazy.

Maybe for the next 3 months, even though still not safe but at least we can expect good progress 3 months from now.

Lots of time needed to prepare everything. All of their proposed plans are just currently stated in their papers, discussing the pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages but no actions yet have been done physically.

Football leagues are coming back but at the very best possibility these teams will play like 20 games total, and probably not even that much, most teams will play like 8 games or whatever and that is basically just 2 games a week for one month and be done with it. NBA has harder path to come back, 20 games left on the regular season plus there is playoffs.

I don't know how they will come back, or when they will come back, but when they do come back, we are not going to see an awesome season from now on, players could be ready for few first games, but the further we get to end of the regular season and we start to see the playoffs, we are going to see that players will basically be barely making any shots. If I was a rebounder I would say practice people who airball or short their shots this season, there will be plenty of them.
