A triple double with blocks hasn't been seen for quite a while I would say.

Well, Wemby accomplished that last night with 10 blocks versus the Raptors. They also blew out Toronto in dominating fashion.
It's funny, the Spurs are one of the worst teams but occasionally they win games by a huge margin, this time even on the road.

By the way, here are the 10 blocks if someone wants to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETuW84R917Y
That's the kind of special talent he has. I wouldn't be surprise if he will win the Rookie of the year award and the defensive player of the year. Not sure if there's someone has already achieve that in the past, but if there's no one yet, Wemby is already making a history here. The good thing with Spurs is they don't put a lot of pressure on these young guys, they let them play and Wemby also had an up and downs, but as expected, they'll eventually figure out how to win with great chemisty.

My Mavs had a nail biter versus Washington. I actually watched that game and the Wizards pretty much dominated until there were 9 minutes left to play. For some reason at that point the Mavericks finally showed up big and came back from 11 points down in the 4th to win by 8. NBA is so strange sometimes.  Grin
Before that game it's already expected that the Mavs will have another blowout win, but it was the opposite from the start since Washington dominated them. Good thing Mavs knows how to come back and win this game, although bettors are not happy with the result as they didn't cover the spread.

I'm done with doubting the Heat to be honest. Last season, they also didn't finish well. IIRC, they were also in the play-in tournament but they won the ECF by defeating the 2 strongest teams which are the Bucks and the Celtics in the ECF. As long as Butler is healthy, they have a chance to be in the finals again. What we saw in the regular season will be different in the playoffs, so better not doubt them.

Yeah, good results in the regular season sometimes don't mean that a team will do well in the playoffs as well as bad results in the regular season don't mean that a team won't do well in the playoffs. By the way, the Heat are currently in the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, and I personally have no doubt they can make the play-in tournament and probably surprise fans in the playoffs.

It's not going to be a surprise since they've that before. Anyway, how about the Clippers vs Timberwolves game? I think most of us here were rooting for the Clippers to win, but they can't score on the defense of the Timeberwolves, as the road team own the paint and they gave Leonard a huge problem.

Clippers was up after the first half with James Harden last shot beyond the arc, but the 3rd quarter run was just huge, and they weren't able to come back anymore in the 4th quarter. 40-19 (3rd) 32-28 (4th), resulted to a 21 points victory by the Timberwolves.

Mavs are not "getting better". What they need is a dominant big man to play with Luka to be fair, if they watched even just a bit of Lukas games, and I do not mean the scouting department, I mean the coaching stuff, then they would know that he plays amazing when he has a superb pick and role partner.

And I am not even talking about hall of fame level player, he just needs an all-star level big to play with him. Instead, what did they do? They got him Kyrie Irving... That makes no sense to me at all. Right now they are not getting better and as long as they keep this team and squad around they will not win any rings and Luka is the type of player who could be best player in a team that won the ring, so he just needs the squad to catch up to him.

I somewhat disagree with you here.  I think the Mavericks are getting better as Luka and Kyrie get more court time together.  Kyrie compliments Luka extremely well.  They can both shoot and spread the floor, but Kyrie can penetrate with dribbling skills while Luka uses his size and guile.  LeBron and Kyrie aren't all that much different from Luka and Kyrie, and I think you are right that the right big man (Kevin Love for the Cavs Lebron/Kyrie pairing) who can also help spread the floor and rebound could take them to the next level.

Buttler knows how to beat the shit out of Celtics for sure hehe. This would have been a great chance for Rozier but the 6 out of 16 field goal is disappointing. Everyone except Caleb had below 50% to be fair to him but I expected better performance from him. I hope to see better in future games as he blends with the team more.

It surely will be a different game than we saw last night but that kind of game was just a warm-up for them since they are still not done with playing in the All-Star game yet after it, we will see them in a serious playing mode because everyone at the top is securing their playoffs spot without giving easy chance to others and there will be no more excuses for the star players not to play unless it is a serious matter like injuries and others. Based on the Miami Heat's performance this year, they are not getting any chance to be in the NBA finals while the Boston Celtics are playing this hard and if they cannot improve their performance and playoff ranks, they might fall off in the play-in tournament.

It could have been fun if Butler was playing, and if he played, heat might have a chance of winning, or could be the opposite the celtics will dominate.

Yes, that's why I was anticipating that Miami could give the Celtics a good competition in that game, but I was surprise when he didn't play. I was an early game so I wasn't able to monitor it completely, and just found the reason that he was absent due to personal reason, can't believe they allowed him.
And there's timetable of his come back yet. .. would it be another Wiggins?

He can't lead the Heat, if there was a player that could lead is it's either Bam or Herro IMO.

Rozier hasn't scored 20+ points yet since he was traded to the Heat. It means his real game was not unleash yet. What I want to see is Jaquez Jr. also getting some good minutes to bring his confidence back. Since his return from injury, his numbers are not the same anymore, probably due to his limited playing time compared to the time when Butler was out, but they could make an experiment for him, this rookie has a smart IQ on the floor, it will be a shame to waste it.

We have two games tomorrow and it's too early in my timezone, so I might not be able to watch it but I'm betting in advance.

First game Boston vs Miami
2nd game Sacramento vs Oklahoma Thunder.

This is a great match up, it's like a playoff match up.
Obviously, the favorites here which are the Celtics and Thunder could gain a lot of bettors, but I'm thinking it is going to be an entertaining game as Miami always play competitive basketball to Boston (except for the last time). Further, Kings vs OKC is quite a great match up too, they could meet in the playoffs if they'll be able to maintain their standing, so it's hard to guess on who will win, but OKC had a very decent home record.

Ypu might be right these could be playoff previews we are getting today.  I'm laying hard on the Celtics.  Shoukd be a good game but I don't think the heat match uo well and am not buying them being a contender.  Might be proven wrong during the playoffs but I can't see them hanging with the celts here today.  Taking celts -6.5
The line moved to -8 when Butler was reported not playing. And it should be easy for the Celtics to dominate, however, it was the opposite as it has resulted to a close game where the Celtics only won by 4 points, that made the Miami Heat cover the spread. It could have been fun if Butler was playing, and if he played, heat might have a chance of winning, or could be the opposite the celtics will dominate.

On the last game, the OKC vs Kings. OKC was able to bounce back, they are still good at home and Sacramento sucks on the road. Not the result I expected from them after beating the Nuggets on their homecourt.

What can you say about the new additions to the Dallas Mavericks? With PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford, the Mavs get PJ from Charlotte in exchange for Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and a first-round pick. Daniel Gafford, on the other hand, came from Washington in exchange for Richauln Holmes and a first-round pick. Watching their game against the OKC last night, I think they are a great addition for the Mavs. They can be a lob threat every time Luka drives. Gafford, a high-flying big man, is a good pair with the Mavericks' first-round pick, Derek Lively III. Imagine them in the froncourt and Luka playing as the point. Lobs are everywhere if that happens.

PJ Washington, on the other hand, is a versatile forward who can stretch the floor and also slash through the rim. What's good about him is that he doesn't use the ball that much to score; he can score off the ball, and that's good because the Mavericks have a backcourt of Luka and Kyrie who are both ball dominant.

What is also good about this acquisition is that both Gafford and Washington are young; both of them are just 25 years old. They are not in their prime yet, which is good, but with proper training and workouts, I think they can be better in the future.

Overall, the Mavericks won that trade, as you can clearly see in their game against the OKC.

It's a good deal. I am a fan of PJ Washington, he and Gafford are good additions for Dallas. And I don't like the arrogant and entitled attitude of Grant Williams. He's sometimes acting like he is a superstar which is far from reality. And Gafford already proved that he has the potential. It's sad to see Seth Curry sent to a mediocre team but he is not really doing well this season, probably because he is already aging and he is not like his brother Steph.
They had made the OKC Thunder a bad team. lol. .. But let's see more from them, if these two new addition to the team will contribute at least 15 points per game on a + overall rating, that would be big already for the team. Now that Kyrie and Luka are also healthy, I think they are now ready for the playoffs and we should be expecting their ranking to improve in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, it seems like the Clippers and PG13 are still not reaching of renewing their contract. PG13 becomes a free agent at the end of the season and it will be very risky for the Clips. There are already rumors saying that PG13 could return to Indiana and join Hali and Siakam.
It's too early to speculate though, if the Clippers will win the NBA Finals, then for sure PG13 will be renewed with a good contract.

Kyle Lowry signed with the Philadelphia 76ers after being bought out by the Miami Heat. Bless his heart chasing a championship. I just don’t think he has enough left in him to help a team win a championship. I’m also not sure how much playing time he’ll get on the 76ers…
Last year, I still saw some spark in him. Maybe his veteran perspective and being a champion will be the one that will be used by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Just to correct the statement too, he was traded by the Miami Heat to the Charlotte Hornets for Terry Rozier. That's why Terry was in the Miami Heat and then The Hornets were the ones who bought out Kyle Lowry.
Is this a bad move? No, I don't think so. He will be good there and considering the price as a veteran, I don't think that will hurt the 76ers.

Oh and a new team for Robin Lopez too, although I don't think so many people here do care. Grin He won't be playing with his twin brother anymore, he was traded to the Kings for a draft right.
Defensively, I saw how Lopez does his work and it's actually seen in his Bucks days. I think they can still use him for inside defense while Sabonis is resting or fouled out, the usual. Cheesy
The Kings need one more big but I think they don't have many options and the deadline came. Their offense is strong with Fox but Sabonis is a magnet of foul trouble that's why their defense is breaking as always.

He's a drafted guy and there's really talent on it. It's just that he's sort of clumsy when he plays and converted that by the fans into entertainment. Anyway, we're just waiting for some crucial time for the Bucks and let's see if Doc is going to trust him with some playing time if that happens.

Maybe he will.

I really like to see them try, and I hope he can also play For sure he played 11 minutes the last time so in his next game maybe play him a little more because you can not see the player's potential if you don't play him for a much huge amount of time, for this season, I truly believe that the other Antetokoumpo could have the same genes as Giannis but for sure they can not have everything.

The other game I'm not taking.  In my head this game could go either way they seem like they matchup well against each other.  Can't make heads or tails of it so I'm laying off.

The Celtics did a great job but it was a close game, to say the least, the Boston Celtics had a great 1st half but the Miami Heat rebounded a little in the 2nd half, but the Boston Celtics' lead was really something for them to play through and without Jimmy Butler on the team because he was on leave so Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo was the one that is suppressing the Boston Celtics to move even further, but even though they are pressuring the Celtics while vice versa the Boston Celtics is doing the same thing to Miami Heat.

Warriors definitely got an inspiring win over Suns. They are on a winning streak right now, doesn't look like they will be anywhere out. 10th is the best they will probably do and it looks like we are talking about something that would be a little bit easy and tough at the same time.

We are going to probably see another Lebron vs Curry battle, Lakers are 9th and probably going to stay 9th as well whereas Warriors will be 10th so they will battle each other at play-in tournament. This could definitely be a tough thing for them and it would not be all that simple and should be going for a while. The best thing about this is that normally play-in tournaments do not matter all that much but this will be viewed.

With just 1 point lead the Golden State Warriors got their win and it was Jonathan Kuminga's game night while Andrew Wiggins was starting to return to his former self, after maybe hearing the rumors that the Warriors are readying to trade him because of his performance was not really that great back then but right now his performance was really returning like his old self was back. if this continues then the Warriors will not need to trade any of its roster.

The Kings are playing great lately so I like them to win today, but I can’t say I’ll be watching. I’m even a little surprised the NBA is having games today to compete with the Super Bowl. I’d imagine the NFL is probably not overly excited about that development.
There were only two NBA matches today. The NBA showed homage to American football, the king of American sports.

Without a major change like exchanging Draymond Green or Andrew Wiggins, I do not expect the Warriors to go any further this season. There are two or more months remaining and many matches however I do not see them getting along nicely this season.

The Lakers also are not doing any better. However, the Lakers are more determined than the Warriors to make some changes this season. The Lakers have freely signed Spencer Dinwiddie and perhaps there are more coming this month.

Their main PG right now is Tyrese Maxey but with how he plays, he's more fit to be a Shooting Guard than a Point Guard. He's more efficient being at the 2 spot. Well, Maxey being their main PG is still good because he will get some veteran knowledge from a player like Kyle Lowry. Lowry might not have that much left in him anymore especially now that he's injury-prone, but I believe his veteran experience will help Maxey, especially in how to be an efficient PG.

In terms of a 2nd title for him, he will not be a main piece on it, but if he will be on a playoff contender team like the Sixers then there's a chance. Now the problem with the team is their main star is still out for weeks, and it might affect their standings. Well, it's good that they won their last game.

Overall, a good addition to the team still, but in terms of impact, it will be less to none.
