The Detroit Piston added some shooting power into their bench. Joe Johnson signed up with the team after a successful stint at Ice Cube's Big 3 league. The guy may be old but he can still shoot well. https://www.msn.com/g00/en-us/sports/nba/joe-johnson-signs-with-pistons-after-mvp-stint-in-big3/

Good addition don't you think?

Well he could earn his spot as a shooting guard again since Detroit is being surrounded with big men. Or he could be placed as 2-4 position. Since he played 4th on Jazz, and most of his career playing 2-3. He's a good addition.

Regarding the SI rankings in the NBA, I can't believe they are still snobing Zack Lavine. He came from an ACL injury and came back strong 20+ points per game. Thaddeus Young even got a higher rank than him though lol. Okay so probably some of you will say that he's just for entertaining fans, well dunking like that could light up the stadium and can boost your team's morale.

Joe isnt coming in playing power forward.  I cant remember a time he played power forward.  He will be a shooting guard in spot situations.  Zach lavine is kind of a one way player, his defense is spotty which is why thad is ahead of him.  Scoring 20 a game is nice but being a defensive liability allowing more than 20 a game does no good.  He's young if he focuses on shut down d he has a shot at moving up

Is this the first time someone goes from NBA to Big 3 and than back to NBA? I heard amare was looked after as well but as far as I know that didn't happen which means Joe Johnson is the first person to go from Big 3 to NBA.

This kinda shows how awesome Big 3 actually is because players like Joe wouldn't have been on the radar of NBA teams if he didn't play there. This means we will see more people who do not get a proper time or minutes or find any contracts in NBA will go to Big 3 to showcase that they still have it and than comeback from Big 3 to NBA eventually when they prove that they are still good.

I would suggest Melo to go to Big 3 as well, at least there he will be great, same goes for any player who will have trouble finding a contract.

They need a veteran. That is all I can say.
Maybe his game with Big Three did boost him up but let us see if it will also be seen in the league.

Dont get mad at me. I love this guy. I was a fan when he was blooming at Phoenix Suns where they all run non stop and every possession is like a fast break. Yeah those two years where Steve Nash got a back to back season MVP and they fought well. Just short to get that ring.
For me, he is a good addition. Maybe a wise adviser for the young people there.
Who is mad? lol
I don't expect him to come out and start putting up those numbers like he used to either. He may be a good sub for Blake who carried the team on one leg last season. I'm also interested to see how he will link up with another veteran in D. Rose.

Joe and Blake play two completely different roles on the team though, joe a spot up shooter and Blake a power forward.  Joe will just come in on certain situations where either they need a shot made on a set play or they want to spread the floor and get the defense playing outside to open up the paint.  That would be my guess on his role at this point in his career.

His last seasons in the NBA are not so impressive, but this guy averages 20 points per game during his days with the Atlanta hawks.
Let's see what he can bring to the table in his new team, I think he will fit with the Pistons as this is a defensive team.

I didn't even know he was out in the NBA, it's just that there are a new of new players coming in and out in the league but I can tell based on what I see, he can contribute with the team, his size his athleticism and his experience will be a great factor.

His days in atlanta are long gone, he will be a bench player that might get 10 minutes a game.  He will be used as a spot up shooter.  Being the big 3 league mvp and a starter in the nba is a huge disparity.  He will bring some leadership to that locker room which you cant see on the stat sheet, I think it's always important to have a player like that on the team that is not a coach but can command the teams respect.  Good for joe always liked his game.

Top 100 NBA Players of 2020

Can anyone guess who is #1?

https://www.si.com/nba/top-100-nba-players-2020#10-1

GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO was top 1 based on the link, my guess was Kawhi Leonard but the ranking is not bad because he is in top 2.
Maybe this ranking is based on its performance in the past season, and since Giannis is the MVP, he was ranked as top 1, but if you'll ask me, I like Leonard because he is a smart player, and he prove is a GOAT since he gave Toronto Raptors their first championship.

Lebron now is already ranked number 3, he is the king now, lol... Where's king James? Grin

I could see Giannis 1 and Kawhi 2 or the other way around.  Either way they got the top 2 right, after top 5 there tends to be a big drop off.  For joel embid to be top 7 that seems a bit high or the league is a little watered down right now.  Pre season Rankings are always fickle, wait until midway through the season and these rankings will be in a different order, it's just something to look at and talk about while waiting for the season to start. He is not going to have the same average for sure but even a half of that coming of the bench will be good for Pistons. They clearly lack shooters last season and Joe can help in that department.
What they need is an consistent outside shooter, joe's game is more of an inside offense, and we already have Blake in that position which he can do well, and we have Drummond to score in the paint and take care of the rebounds.

In the line up next season, https://www.lineups.com/nba/lineups/detroit-pistons, I don't see a real good shooter here.
But I like the new addition of players, like Derrick Rose and Thon Maker, the rest if there's new, I just don't know them.

Yeah, he is a good addition to Detroit. His experience is what Detroit needs. He is also a physical player who is not afraid for a physical game that fits the tradition of Detroit.
The traditional kind of game where these bad boys were known for.  Though those old days are gone and the type of basketball is no longer physical, but his addition to this team will bring a good impact. He's a defensive and offensive threat, and his experience with this league is a  plus factor. It just needs to be incorporate with his new teammates and the coaching staff to maximize his capabilities.
I would not expect too much for him as he left the NBA with a bad statistics, now he is back, he should prove it again that he can still play physical despite his current age now. He is a BIG 3 MVP and I'm not so aware of this league as I don't think it's popular but compared to the NBA, he won't be getting any MVP award as the award now are dominated by the young ones.

I was reading this link

We can review his stats here https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/johnsjo02.html..

Currently he is already 38 years old, older than Dwayne Wade who retired last season, but he had an impressive record at https://big3.com/stats/.
The fact that he was sign by the Detroit, they are seeing he will be able to contribute to the team, so good luck for him.

James got a high pride, I'm sure he will not be contented in the 3rd spot. Let's just see this upcoming season if he can take his sweetest revenge and lead Lakers to an epic comeback Grin.

For him to be rank number 1 again, he needs to beat the best teams in the west, and they will clash with Giannis which I believe he and his team will easily win the fight. Giannis though has become an MVP but he will never wins a finals MVP aware because he cannot take his team to the Finals, the management still rely on him this coming season so let's see how far the Bucks can go, I know it has an easier journey this coming season as he will not have to face Leonard again, and Durant is out for the nets.

but if you'll ask me, I like Leonard because he is a smart player, and he prove is a GOAT since he gave Toronto Raptors their first championship.
I'm also thinking the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I like Giannis as a player and no doubt he was so strong too but last season's champ is Toronto so Kawhi should be at the top. He deserve to get the highest recognition. Actually, the mere fact that he grind a lot to make an underestimated team like Raptors win the trophy (with his teammates of course) is already enough to call him the goat.
Lebron now is already ranked number 3, he is the king now, lol... Where's king James? Grin

I guess this is something that is not new to all of us. We see great players got traded to different teams and some are traded by knowing in the twitter that they were traded. An example of a player that knew he was traded on twitter is Josh Hart.

That's the point!
Why they are still butthurt about what happened there in OKC when KD was traded. They have not much control over it. If Oklahoma doesn't want him out then they could do it by offering more.
GSW just welcomed him with open arms and so is the team.

Exactly, media putting up so many stories. Honestly, KD and WB are now settled for I think long-time now. Just look at this year's NBA All-Star, all are looking good between them and before that All-Star MVP trophy handed to Durant, they were seen having a moment. OKC fans should know the status between these two more than us here but I don't know why the hell they are still not moving on with that Durant issue.

But I guess that recognition for KD will not happen soon. He is currently again at heated conversation with those OKC fans peeps who don't know how to move on.

Yes, yes, yes!!! They are in good terms. They laughed and enjoyed the moment in All-Star. I guess it is really that much hurtful when they are almost to win a championship every time and still ending up short.  Grin I don't know what is the feeling but that is how I see it.
