I can say based on the above statistics, it's very clear that Harden has an edge and could win the MVP competition this season.

And then there are also good arguments in that link above. So up to this, point its really hard to decide who will win this year's MVP and it is very close. One thing that favored Giannis though, if we are going to look at the last 15 MVP's, 10 came from a team with the best regular record.

We will know who will be the MVP once this will be announce, but I was amaze about James Harden's PPG which is 36.3, that is very high.

He's still young and still have a lots of chance to prove himself, we can't argue about crowd favorite as Harden really cater the criteria having a lots of fans and entertained them, he's so close with the fans as they really loves watching him and be entertained from each night he showed his moves, in the other hand Giannis is doing his best to show it from the  stats, but the deciding factors will still came from the NBA medias as stated above, also not sure if that's right though.

If I'm not mistaken the MVP is being voted by NBA media, so it's varies what criteria they are looking for. (Kindly correct me If I'm wrong).

I don't know who got the best record in terms of stats between the two, if anyone knows, I would appreciate if they will share here
and also the criteria in choosing the MVP for this season. Let's compute then to determine who will win between this two stars in the NBA.

Yes, Giannis is really amazing and imagine without any turnovers? They are the two players that will likely win this year awards and I think people will simply vote for Harden, because they are also biased.

This guy is amazing but the crowd favorite was James Harden, LOL. ... Honestly, I like Harden that Giannis, maybe because I am bias too.

Big players turn other players into what they need and the other players just become what is needed according to teams needs and just go with it.

I remember clearly it happened twice with Lebron for example, Lebron made Chris Bosh into a role player whereas he was a all around star at Raptors however dude turned into a shooter/rebounder with Lebron. Same happened with Kevin Love, dude was a star at wolves and was loved but when he moved to Cavs he became a shooter/rebounder because that's what Lebron needs.

When you play with Westbrook and you are a great player like Bosh/Love and in this case PG, you do not try to do what you can do at max but you just try to do whats needed from the team, PG just scores when needed and defends very well, that is whats asked from him and that is what he does, do you think he can't rebound more ? Dude is grabbing 8.2 rebounds on top of Westbrooks triple doubles but when he sees Westbrook he just runs because he knows Westbrook will pass to him if he is open and he plays that way.

Hell even Steven Adams who has been leading the league in offensive rebounds for many years now grabs less rebounds on defensive end just so Westbrook can get it. This is not "stat padding" it is just their system and that is all they can do at this point, maybe with a coaching change it will be different but with Billy Donovan and his system Westbrook will continue to get triple doubles forever.

I didn't see any comment about Giannis and his incredible performance.
He managed to make 0 turnovers during the match and he is now the second player in the NBA history that he did that after Michael Jordan.

He seems to be on fire and ready for the play offs that they are coming.

For me, I am just glad that PG13 is playing like he was before the injury. We know how bad the injury was but it never stopped him from getting into higher heights again. Now he is on top 5 of the MVP candidates.


Overshadowed? Nah. That is why he is a candidate for MVP.
He is the star of OKC now.
There are different types of management in NBA. OKC is not Dallas. (fostering Nowitzki) They may release WB if needed just so they could get more cap space but I doubt they will now release PG13 since they now knew how great he is. He can pull more viewers with that type of game.

One example is the 360 dunk. Who doesn't want to see that live?!
How about those far 3 point shots which can make you shout with all of your might as a fan watching live.

Sadly, he is still over shadowed by Russ and will still remain the second man in that team.

Personally, I want Giannis to win the MVP. I'm a big fan of the kid, he has done a lot for his team. But I wouldn't be surprised if James Harden win another MVP though, one thing though that's missing is a ring so complete his career. So let's see how it pan out.

It's a tough race for this seasons MVP. Even Steph Curry is also a candidate as well as Paul George.

PG could be in the discussions for this years MVP, but it will boils down to two, Giannis or Harden. Giannis has a break out year, pushing his team to the best record, while Harden, monstrous triple double game is a thing to watch. Let's see who's going to win, I doubt that we will have a unanimous MVP this year. Those who will vote will have a hard time.  .

PG is not that type? I'm saying that Westbrook made him like that. WB is a beast when it comes to the hard court. So, he will really drag many attention around him and start guarding him that's why, many times WB is guarded in a double team basis when he's heating up. I believe that when PG was in Pacers, he's an ISO player. He's a great finisher and a go-to basket type of player. And of course, has a shooting outside. But, right now PG started to improve his game to be a spot up shooter MOST of the time + an ISO player. With a beast driving to the rim, and an open shooter, that's a nice combination.

I'm not talking about just stat padding assist, also in rebounds.

Say it or not, Melo is hurting OKC when he was around. He's too slopy in defense. I can't think for another reason why he is out of the rockets. And also, say it or not it's safe to say that this is the end of his career lol. . I'm not saying that Melo isn't that great although if you ask me the best team for him to play in to is the Trailblazers. Damian, McCollum were their backcourt and they are the two best scorer of the team. And I believe that during the playoffs last season or just this season when their team meets the Pelicans(IIRC if that's the Pelicans), the Pelicans exposed them with the type of defense Pelicans played. And that leave Damian and CJ a hard time to score. They'll be needing a spot up shooter which is the kind of guy melo is.

PG could be the MVP if there was no Greekfreak. Giannis also is having a great performance this season.

PG was really impressive but does his journey to the MVP will be affected by their team's recent performance?
I guess the most consistent of them all is The Giannis or Harden.

Yes Im looking for Westbrook to do this at Playoffs too and not just for tributes or something. Paul George has a spectacular performance this season. Somehow an additional fuel to their playoffs rally. Their efforts should not be wasted. And beside no Melo now on the roster lol (no offence to Melo fans).

Westbrook is already out of the MVP race. He's not even on Top 5.

The man of OKC this season is definitely Paul George and really surprising to see he's one of the MVP contenders. He really made a strong comeback this season and I didn't imagined prior to season opening that he will be on MVP contenders list again after several seasons.

Nope. PG is not that type. If he wants to ball hog then he will do it. He is an ISO player which is like Durant (OKC times) but just better when it comes to team playing.
You said it that is the problem with padding assist, the next player needs to shoot the ball or you wont get it.
He already have 10 assist at first quarter although at start of the game he already had in mind to do something for Nipsey.
This is also one thing that made him a monster. He makes tributes and consider it done.

Question is when playoffs comes and they face GSW or Denver will he still be the same?
I dare him make tributes for every game in the playoffs so they could win the first round.
Or better, do it every game until they take that trophy of NBA finals.



Same, I am not a fan of him. His intensity though when making such record breaking games is too high that you will love to watch the game until the end.

Just to add some more.
OKC management might want to stay at a path into going against Denver for first round rather than GSW. They have a better chance of winning against them.
They might need to lose some game for that or win it.

No argument about that, we do have our own assessment in terms of basketball opinons, and I also seen that the team already have their owned versions f super team the problem is they can't produce the finals caliber, westbrook being a leader of OKC needs to step forward just like what MJ did in bringing the bulls to the finals and grab the title, adjustment and observe what is missing.

Im not pointing out to other games like your given examples. If you read my recent post, it was all about OKC vs LAL so we will disregard other games here.

Just to be clear, my point was on their recent game against the Lakers and not in general. Some WestBrook haters point out that his achievement last game is a pure stat padding which is really not. They say it easily because they know Westbrook's usual behaviour.

Even Paul George appreciates what Westbrook did last night and he said that he was playing with pure heart even he's on heavy right now with the loss of rapper Nipsey.

Not a WB fan here but sharing views. He really did some stat padding in his career but tha's not the pure case in their recent game against the Lakers.

See. The only one noticeable is the last phase. If you really watched the whole game why missed other actions? If he was stat padding it should be noticeable the entire game.

This was the reason why the crowd went wild after he grab that rebound in the last 34.5 seconds of the game?
Just caught a highlight of the game late last night while doing something else at the time.
I thought it was a milestone or something going on for him instead.
Westbrook does work hard but if this is what he will be known for then dont think many will vote him for mvp this season.
