Honestly I was expecting Cedi Osman to be better this year because without Lebron at the SF position he would get a lot more minutes but I wasn't expecting him to show up this much. I was scared of it because Tatum got a lot of minutes last year whereas cedi wasn't even getting minutes on playoffs and that made me question if ty lue will give Cedi the minutes he deserved. He got those minutes at this early in the season and if he did not showed up the way he did he would probably get benched again and not get a lot of minutes but he used those minutes to show that he is actually a good player and deserves attention and now it is harder for him to get less minutes. However the season is still early and he could still get benched or play less minutes if he starts to suck. The best part of his game is his energy, dude plays %110 anytime he is on the court and I hope that continues.

I do not want to overreact from just game one but Lakers really didn't look good at all, the team is all filled with players who are individually good and the thought process was to get the young guys get more experience thanks to playing with Lebron and getting even some playoffs experience like Celtics are doing right now but if they are really not playing well together, individually they are alright but as a team they are really not. Good thing about this game was josh hart once again, he showed that even during a loss on a regular season he deserves the SG spot.

A team with Lonzo-Hart-Ingram-Kuzma would mean the future is basically there for Lakers and all they need is some playing time however if they do not click together it wouldn't matter how great they are as players and it would be all for nothing, they need to increase the team chemistry really quickly which is the hardest thing any Lebron team ever had.

I disagree with the last part.
I am not a Lebron fan but he did good when it comes to receiving respect from his team mates.
Remember when he suddenly joined the Miami team. They are already in chemistry with Lebron there even if he just got there.
Specially Dwayne Wade.
It is still early to disect this Lakers team. They may be just shocked of what really happened with their team since veterans came in.

What kind of atrocious defense do you need to have to allow opposing team score 150 pts with no overtimes played? Kings tanking season campaign has officially started after only two games. Pels, on the other hand, are avg. 140ppg and Mirotic with back to back 30pts games, last night, if I'm not mistaken, were 36pts career high for him.

The Cavs sucks when James is not around. Keep on dreaming because Cavs will never go to the finals this season. Not without James carrying your crybaby team.
It might be true that this current Cavs roster will be struggling this season but it does not mean that they will not improve. Only James is gone and who knows that they might land some quality players on the trade. Even with James around they are still not capable of winning a championship so they better have to rebuild this time.

I'm expecting the Cleveland Cavaliers to be a lottery team again with James.  I don't think the Lakers will able to compete with the Rockets or the Warriors but they should at least make the playoffs.

Anyone else think Seattle deserves an NBA franchise?   Maybe the Clippers or different small market team will end up moving to Seattle if the NBA doesn't expand its number of teams.

It's good to see LeBron James still continue his streak of losing the first game whenever he joins any team. This has happened twice with the Cavaliers, Heats and now the Lakers have also lost their first game with LeBron in the team. There is still more games to be played.
Oh, I never noticed that trivia!

Losing for the first games do normal happens, it''s a game and there's only one team to win and the other losses. At least this isn't the last game, anyway this makes the whole season more exciting than the pasts. What are the other interesting news out there with the start of this season?
So that means the Lakers are going to the NBA finals?
It that would happen it's gonna be a different Finals, should be a game where it could go to 7, unlike the warriors dominating their opponent.
I'm not saying that they are going to have a guaranteed slot to the finals.

We're just on the beginning and its lovely to speculate things while we're on the early stage. Its a process and you know that they are also in the conference where teams are great and won't let another team to step on their title. If you know what I mean, you know the team that I'm talking.

That's true, So if you're a Lakers fan, there's nothing to be worry about LeBron James losing first games debuting when moving to a new teams. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 49 points and that huge plus Stauskas added 24 points. Wait and see till they play home, its going to be big.

Lakers did good on the first 3 quarters but they didn't sustained it specially in the last 7 minutes as their defense didn't hold and allowed Portland to make uncontested 3's that blow the game. So defense is weak and I'm sure that the coaching staff saw it and adjustments has to be made. Its just one game so let's see how it goes. I think the lost this early is a wake up call, specially for James.

Lebron will lost again this Saturday over the Rockets. Its wonderful to see him in losing streak! lol They will keep on losing and again he will ask for another team mates. That's how good he was. LOL

Hey! That is an obvious hatred already.  Grin

It is just the start of the season and we cannot determine everything just because of a losing streak.
Houston did lose to Pelicans. (Rondo out and they won against a strong team?)  Grin
Lakers losing against Portland. (Hey! Rondo is there!)  Grin

Welcome to the West Lebron James.

@batang_bitcoin - Yeah I agree, Carmelo needs some adjustment and there's a lot of learning curve on his part. There's a lot of games in the regular season and as a veteran I do hope that he can make the necessary adjustment and at least help Houston Rockets offensively.
Expect it with upcoming games and I'm confident that he's going to do what's right and will show his full potential.
The Lakers are overrated, I bet on them on their first game thinking Lebron could dominate the scoring but this guy is just trusting his teammates
so much which are shooting bricks in the 3 point line tonight. I hope they will improve in the next game and they will focus on the inside as they are better that way.
Wherever Lebron goes the team has been always overrated. What a bad start for them, they lost with their very first game. We will see progress in the midst of this season. So that's acceptable but I feel bad, starting the season with a lose.

I think Lebron doesn't want to do what he has done last season with the Cavs when he carried the team into the Finals. Maybe he wants his teammates to work too and not to rely always on him. He wants his teammates to train more now that they are a different team now but I think they are overrated. With an inexperienced players (except the veterans who joined them), some analysts said that they will be on the top 3-4 seed but not for me. I think they will be on the top 5-8.

They cannot even qualify for the play-offs! West teams are so strong. Try to ask chuck. lol

LeBron will soon realize how big the difference between the East and the West is. You can't take any nights off, no easy games v teams like Hawks, Magic, Knicks....

Lakers finished second last year in fastbreak points per game, I think 18pts, they had...20pts in the first half alone. With this pace, running up and down the court at his age and mileage - not sure how will that work out in the long run.

Some NBA analysts have them being a top 3 or 4 seed, I just don't see how they're going to win 50+ games, so I agree with freedomgo that Lakers might be a little overrated.

I don't know what happened but no awkward moment between Jimmy Butler and Karl Anthony Towns during their first game this season. Although they loss at the hands of San Antonio Spurs, still we can't see the effect of the "issue" between Butler and the team. I just don't know if Butler will still continued his drama about being traded or will remained at Timberwolves for the rest of the season.
Like what Jimmy Butler said he doesn't mix up personal problems with his game. He likes to keep it professional as possible as it is also what will keep his value up, remember he still wanted to be traded even though the season has already begun. Resting and acting hurt would only delay his trade that he has been looking for ever since this pre-season. The only thing I want to happen as a fan is of course change his views with the team and hopefully sign a contract extension with them, but I doubt that it would happen.

Good thing that is the scenario. Kudos also to Karl Anthony Town that he do the same. These team are quiet really great only if no drama outside the court. I also agreed that he should stay at Twolves although we don't know what's really inside him that's why he is eager to be traded.

The Lakers are overrated, I bet on them on their first game thinking Lebron could dominate the scoring but this guy is just trusting his teammates

Lakers shouldn't be overrated. Fans are just considered them overrated.

LeBron did his best so I don't see any problem with him in their recent loss. It's just that Portland Trail Blazers did some great performance too.

His teammates also step up in the although not enough fuel to light up the fire.
