I read an article about exploratory trade talks involving Russell Westbrook and the Spurs. But according to the same news, the trade talks fizzled out real quick because there just couldn't be an agreement made between the two teams that's both viable for them. Names of Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge were mentioned but talks did not gather a lot of steam to really push through.
if this rumors went thru i think spurs would be unstoppable you have kawhi aldridge and gasul plus parker and ginobli or wesr, strong spurs needs a quick runner and can filled by westbrook.
But these are merely rumors and I don't think the Spurs are going to give up Kawhi or LA for that matter. There are also other teams who have shown interest in Westbrook, like his hometown of Los Angeles. I don't know of the Lakers can persuade him to play for them, but the Clippers have the better chance with their more solid line up. I would still love to see Westbrook land in Boston, where conference competition is not that tight, compared to the Western Conference.

I wouldn't trade Kawhi for Westbrook, and lets not even talk about Kawhi + LA trade. That would be simply ludicrous.
Even if that trade happened I can't see Westbrook fitting in the Spurs' system, and he definitely would NOT change for Pop.
Spurs would never let go kawhi, he is a complete package type of a player and the spurs needs that kind of player to improve his defense. Once defensive player of the year and now already improving his offense, Lebron was even lucky he was not able to face the spurs and his Kryptonite Leonard.

I agree 100% with you.
Pop is too smart of a coach to let Kawhi go. When Pop traded for Kawhi everybody thought he was crazy

That is a huge amount of money.how can nba pay this much to all there players.
113 million is not a joke. But who is the highest paid nba player this year?

You can see the highest-paid NBA players by season from this wiki page. Last year it was Kobe Bryant for 25 million $. This year it would probably be Kevin Durant, he just signed a two-year 54.3 million $ deal with Golden State Warriors. That's 27.15 million $ per year.

Nope, it's not Kobe, Durant or Lebron the highest paid player. It's Mike Conley of the Memphis, his contract is worth of $153 million for 5 years. Insane right? I go crazy as soon as I saw it. Imagine its more than Michael Jordan salary when he was still playing or even Kobe Bryant or Lebron James.

they signed kobe with that amount?omg!!they havent made good in that season. Not worth the pay.

On the team owner's side, it's not. For Kobe however, it is, and he may be underperformed last season, he still takes some great cash after he retires. Smiley
And that is great when you are a star because even if you are not good enough you will still be remembered on your past performance and how you take the team to be great, kobe deserves the pay as well as he is a one of the hall of fame for the lakers.

It's worth the pay simply because he is KOBE BRYANT. NBA is not just a basketball it also a business, so that why kobe desrves that kind of salary. But for Mike Conley, he has not yet prove anything, he also never been in all star.
That is on your point of view but for the majority of people although Kobe Bryant is just messing around they still admire him for his effort to make the lakers popular in the world, and because of him the franchise made so much money when he was still in his prime.

true everything is now business
make one good investment to earn a lot more money not just in basketball but in all sport
he made them popular and they earn much more then they give him in that time

Just like mike conley said he was tired of being underrated and this guy deserved the pay raise as he is a good team player in the team, he is better than chris paul in my opinion because when the memphis face the clippers in any playoffs games, usually the memphis will end up successful.

Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks have finalized his new contract worth $50 million over two seasons. The deal contains $30 million in guaranteed money and a team option for Year 2 if he decides to play in the 17-18 season.

Yes Cuban add some nice dollars to the recent deal lately, (which also I posted here).

Now looking forward for another revamp with this team.

Will keeping again my long time hashtag lol.

Mark Cuban is playing Chess. He thinks he's slick. he's trying to tell the players in the league that here In Dallas we take care of our veteran's and super stars unlike Miami Heat. So Come to Dallas!!.... I guarantee you he had that on his mind when he gave dirk this new deal

over price contract i think is dirk nowitzki is over year old niw
low contribute team
i think dallas maverick is news fresh team
overhauled the squad, old player replace is young star
Well, I get what you mean brother, in NBA this is not actually a game of real competition as we see. This is a pure entertainment and Dirk was paid for his popularity in the team and that would help the mavericks to gain from the support of the fans by patronizing the team in the coming season.

This is business my friend and money rules.
That is why games are rigged sometimes because they want to make the fans to be entertain, if the game is one sided it would not help the organization to generate sales and views in the international television. I believe it is rigged but great players are really great they are just favored sometimes.

This is why fan wars began in the playoffs if their favorite team magically loses because they say NBA officials are rigged. Yes, most games can be entertaining, but some plays can ruin the fun especially the refs trying to "manipulate" the game because NBA says so.
Dirk is not worth $50M 2-year contract at age 38. The Mavs are obviously compensating him for the discounts he'd been giving them since 2010.

When you're paying a player for things that were done in the past, that's loyalty.

Yeah Dirk may retire in his age and the deal is not worth it to the manager to be honest. Loyalty is one thing for him, and maybe the team manager may give him extra bucks before he retires.

dirk still can be a threat to any teams even he's already old but the skills that he have still in his hands
it is just Adrenalin for him to show big games, we need to keep watching him because maybe it is his last
season and the last one would be sweeter.
He may not be much of an impact player anymore but he still means a lot to the Mavericks, in terms of veteran leadership, locker room presence, his loyalty to Dallas and the way he could guide younger players to work as hard as he does when he was younger. The contract which will probably be his last is just a "small" token of appreciation for everything he has done to a team that looked terrible before his arrival.
With the current line up, they are still exciting to watch although we don't really expect that they are gonna be big in the playoffs. I love Dallas even before and will continue to watch their game until Dirk is playing. That is sign of respect from a fan here.

yes dirk doesn't cost that matched for his age but giving the mavs a crown when he is still on his prime might excuse this
deal fans don't want him to see going out so management doesn't have a choice.
It is all about the money I guess, and who knows it could be the last deal for Dirk and he will be preparing for his retirement. Dirk is dangerous but not as dangerous as his prime so they have no chance to beat the legitimate team like the warriors, clippers, and the spurs.
