Kevin Durant Left to Oakland But He Really Wanted to Go to the Los Angeles Lakers.

He didn't leave to the Lakers
Not just because they weren't good enough, but also because he spoke smacked about Steve A .Smith opinion, sources and integrity. He really wanted to go to L.A. Lakers, and perhaps he would've gone to the Clippers, but for that the Clippers must've had to move Blake Griffin, which means the team wouldn't be good enough.

Everyone seems fine with older guys like Ray allen leaving a bad
team and joining a winner to get a ring

Why cant durant just skip that step and try and get a ring earlier
in life. I actually applaud Durant he would take less money and care
more about winning.

I hate more when a big star goes to a scrub city knowing he cant win but
wants a huge paycheck.
yes indeed giving up your paycheck in seeking for a ring hope we see him play more and show what he got
durant deserve the respect and hope a ring too. let see what will happen.

Durant is a type of player that you will bring players around him not the other way around. And they have high expectations for him thats why they critisize him a lot. But his decision is ok for me.

If Rodman can join the Bulls, why can't Durant join the Warriors?

The Pistons and Bulls were practically blood rivals, but the Bulls traded for him because he filled a NEED...
Not to mention the Bulls had three 20 point scorers on the perimeter( Averaged 20/6/5 in 94 with the Clips)

MJ was ruined by Rodman and the Pistons many times. Yet he signed off on the trade and welcome the rebounding champ with open arms.

MJ new needed more help after choking the year before. 96 Finals proved that.

Not the same situation as Durant.
Stop comparing durant to MJ because MJ is a great player and the best players in the world, durant hasn't prove himself yet and I will only believe he is legitimate when he can win a championship ring.
we can say he is a great player he can't be an mvp is he doesn't winning a ring also doesn't mean he is not a great player but we do have same sentiments no one can compared to the one and only Airness of our life. he is only one and no one can de thrown him NO ONE! lets see and give kd a chance it is just maybe the way he wanted to have a ring so he needed to choose gsw to make it much easier for him coming from the many help from their line up.
Durant is nowhere near the caliber of MJ. He might surpass him in the All-Time scoring list, but that wouldn't be enough to overshadow the legacy that MJ has made. MJ did not switch teams during his prime and stayed with Chicago even though he was having a hard time in his earlier years. He did not win his first championship until he was 28 years old. Once he tasted how it was to be a champion, he pushed himself and his teammates further to make it three in a row, twice by the way.

Are Tim Duncan and Kobe the most overrated players of all-time?
I like Tim Duncan, he is a good guy, but man I don't see how this guy is a top 10 player in NBA History other than he was the one constant on probably the best run organization in pro sports for his entire career. The Spurs coaching and front office is more to credit than just Duncan. Look how Duncan settled into a bench player this year and had his worst year ever by far(still better than Kobe though  ), but they STILL won more games than ever before in franchise history.

He is not just a constant with the Spurs. He was the guy who made it possible for them to win five titles. I doubt if the Spurs would have won a single championship had they not tanked the year before he was drafted. He is such a quiet guy and shies away from the limelight that is why some people are finding it hard how great a player Timmy is.

Duncan and Kobe both had golden paths to success, almost from the word go. Both are all-time greats, but I think Duncan is lower-end Top 10 with Hakeem and company, where "12be" is generous from an individual perspective.

I don't think a case for Nowitzki can be argued against Tim, but against Kobe as an individual player... while I'd lean towards Kobe (and accolades make him ahead of him definitively all-time), a debate can be at least had there.

Even Duncan retired San Antonio is one of the contenders in West. They built franchise on Kawhi Leonard and Lamarcus Aldridge. We can say that Duncan - Parker - Ginobili era is officially over.

I would agree that that specific area is over but Parker is still one of the top PG in the league.

Spurs also signed Pau who is a better player than Duncan AT THIS MOMENT. So they improved there.

Duncan is the best PF ever played. There is no doubt about it.

Their prime is already gone but they can still do some good plays that giving a door to their team mates to execute good plays. And their yearly stats is awesome throughout their entire days in the league (excluded also if there's an injury). And we see Tony Parker's performance in their finals game against the Canada recently and able to sealed their spot at Rio Olympics. Is this player really considered as old folk with his performance? lol.

I was prepared my self so when Tim Duncan announced retirement I was upset but get over it. I thought he could play one more year because he didn't announce retirement right after season is over. He played 19 years in same franchise, why not make it two decades? I guess his body didn't let him. Arguably the greatest power forward in NBA history, enjoy your retirement.
He was not playing great the last season so he realize that he should retire, he is too fair unlike kobe bryant that needs to play to destroy the team, I wish him good luck.

He's playing off a bit you can say that, guess Pop saw that coming too, Timmy's minutes this past season was the all time low by average. Gasol's acquisition sealed it off.
19 years guys maybe it is understandable that tim can't play the way he use to be age and stamina eaten him and im so glad to hear that he already retire to attend his personal life he is my forever "the big fundamental" playing the balls with easy and smooth ways. good luck tim thank you for the memory buddy!
